"ROAR!!!"
Rage's powerful roar echoed throughout Green Valley Ranch, terrifying the weaker Pokémon who couldn't help but look up to see which mighty creature had used Growl.
They spotted a massive blood-red figure soaring through the sky above.
The trembling among the ranch Pokémon grew even more intense.
"Return!" Chris commanded his Salamence.
The Salamence immediately circled in the air before landing firmly on the "helipad" of the ranch villa.
Garchomp and Aerodactyl watched attentively as they landed.
Chris patted the dragon's back and jumped down. Looking back at the Totem Salamence, he couldn't help but stretch his back.
"Excellent! The feeling of flying with Soaring is exhilarating!" Chris exclaimed loudly.
His Red Gyarados poked its head out from a nearby cloud and thought silently, "Boss, it's not like I haven't flown with you using Soaring before."
That's different!
If Chris had known what Red Gyarados was thinking, he would have replied exactly that.
Compared to Gyarados, Salamence's flying speed was much faster. With its wide back and mastery of the flying technique, Salamence provided a stable yet swift ride that made Chris feel like he was standing on a spaceship.
From now on, until he obtained a Legendary Pokémon, his aerial transportation would be this powerful Salamence!
Looking at the imposing dragon before him, Chris couldn't help but sigh in admiration again.
So big! So magnificent!
An ordinary Salamence typically measured around fifteen meters in length and stood about two and a half meters tall.
His Totem Salamence, however, was thirty-five meters long and five meters tall—it was no exaggeration to call it a giant. Of course, this terrifying length was largely due to its tail.
Among his own Pokémon, apart from Steelix, it was the largest.
Although his Tyranitar was also a Totem Pokémon, it was mainly just tall. In terms of overall size, it couldn't compare to the Salamence.
Chris opened Salamence's attribute panel to examine its stats.
[Salamence (Dragon, Flying)](Totem)
[Level: 70]
[Ability: Intimidate]
[Individual Values: HP (31), Attack (31), Special Attack (24), Defense (31), Special Defense (23), Speed (31)]
[Moves: Roost, Dragon Breath, Dragon Tail, Dual Wingbeat, Crunch, Protect, Dragon Claw, Scary Face, Zen Headbutt, Flamethrower, Focus Energy, Draco Meteor...]
[Held Item: None]
Four perfect IVs with perfect values in the crucial physical attack stats—that was acceptable.
Its Totem status more than made up for the slight imperfections in its Individual Values.
In terms of value, this Pokémon was the most valuable in his entire lineup.
Even his 6IV Shiny Gardevoir wasn't as valuable.
After all, being Shiny was just an aesthetic bonus that didn't provide additional attributes, but Totem status was different—a gigantic form naturally brought higher physical capabilities.
The best part was that this Salamence was already at level 70 when he obtained it!
That saved him a tremendous amount of training time!
The only minor issue was that he hadn't been able to develop a relationship with it from a young age, so their bond was growing more slowly. However, since he didn't have a Mega Stone for Salamence yet, there was no urgent need to establish a particularly strong bond with it.
"Wanda, when will the Gym begin welcoming challengers?" Chris suddenly asked. He was eager to use his Totem Salamence in battles against other Trainers and was looking forward to seeing their expressions when they witnessed his massive dragon.
They would probably be scared senseless!
Chris realized he was behaving like a child who had something impressive and wanted to show it off to others.
After a moment's consideration, Chris reconsidered. The Totem Salamence was such a powerful asset that he should keep it as his trump card, rather than revealing it prematurely when dealing with minor opponents.
Holding a tablet in her hand, Wanda looked at the Totem Salamence, wondering where her boss had obtained such a terrifying creature.
"Boss, the protection period for your Gym Leader status only has three days left. There are twelve Trainers who have registered to challenge you, averaging about one every three days."
"That means you'll continue to have Gym battles for more than a month."
"Alright, I understand. Just make sure to schedule the Gym battles carefully so they don't conflict with our Pokémon sales," Chris nodded.
He wasn't particularly concerned about a month of continuous battling.
According to the Gym Leader regulations, he only needed to accept three challenges per month and could defer other Trainers to the following month. Still, Chris decided to accept all twelve challenges.
Avoiding battles wasn't his style. Rather than spreading these twelve challengers over four months, it was better to defeat them all quickly to discourage others from challenging him in the future.
If not for the concern that consecutive battles might cause injuries to his Pokémon, Chris would have preferred to face all twelve Trainers in a single day and be done with it.
Taking out a Poké Ball and recalling Salamence, Chris was about to leave for dinner when he suddenly remembered something and asked, "Did you send someone to deliver the Poké Ball to the Arcanine Master at the military area as I asked?"
"It was delivered to the Capital Military Region this morning. It should already be in the Arcanine Master's possession by now," Wanda replied.
Capital Military Region · Military Canine Unit.
On an open grassland, a group of people were gathered around an enormous Arcanine.
Growlithe was typically about the size of a normal Earth dog, but once evolved into Arcanine, it became as large as a cow and could serve as a mount.
And yet, the Arcanine that stood before them now was even larger, in terms of body size...
Like a small hill...
If a regular Arcanine was a dog, then the one currently before them was a lion.
The difference was staggering!
The visual impact was overwhelming!
"Was this sent by Chris's messenger?" the Arcanine Master asked in disbelief. Chris hadn't mentioned anything about this in advance via text message.
"Yes," replied an officer.
"This is quite a surprise." The Arcanine Master walked around the Totem Arcanine, nodding appreciatively as he examined it. "It's excellent indeed. Its strength is already close to Gym level, isn't it?"
"Where did Chris find this?"
"I must call him and ask. I've searched all over the world without seeing one like this, yet he found it so easily."
