Celeste, who had never lost a friend to death, felt it like a rip through her chest. She started to sob, hard. It felt with each sob she could somehow dig out the pain from her chest, but with each take it slipped away. Remaining there like an angry throb that was too painful to carry.
Her whole body felt heavy. The shock, the sudden rush of adrenaline that had carried her so far started to wear off like a sudden drop. Her whole right arm was drenched in warm sticky blood, the smell of copper thick in the air, the pain sharp.
Celeste, with trembling fingers closed Jades half opened eyes. "I'm so sorry, I was supposed to get you out of here." Celeste whispered to her. "I'm so sorry Jade." She cried. Celeste gasped suddenly, feeling something draped over her shoulders.
