Chapter 20 - CHAPTER : 20 : Black Mental Cube

Infirmary, Azur Lane Base Pearl Harbor

June 10, 1942

8:00 AM

A Girl with Horns lay in one of the hospital beds. She began to regain consciousness and immediately sat up, but her right hand was handcuffed to the bed's railing. She tried to use her strength to break the handcuff, but she heard someone speak behind her.

"If you break that, I will throw you in jail." A purple-haired woman sat in a chair right next to a window. "You're lucky, because you're not in jail, so... stop trying to escape and be a good patient instead."

"Your clothing... are you one of the Eagle Union Carriers?" the Girl with horns asked the woman.

"Yes. My name is Essex. And according to Javelin, Unicorn, and Laffey, your name is Ayanami. Correct?" Essex introduced herself, confirming the girl's identity at the same time.

Ayanami nodded and asked, "Where am I?"

She tried to remember what happened during last night's battle, but her head ached. Her headache was the result of her hitting the harbor's concrete walls.

Essex spoke, "According to the report, you faced one of the Modern Kansens, and it knocked you out. He is also the one who requested that we treat the injuries you received in last night's battle."

Ayanami's head was covered with bandages. She tried to touch it, but her head ached again. Then, three girls came into the room: Laffey, Unicorn, and Javelin.

"I'm glad you're awake. You've been asleep for a day now..." Javelin said, with concern and relief in her voice, after seeing Ayanami awake and alright.

Unicorn nodded, about to tear up in happiness. "Unicorn thought you wouldn't wake up."

Laffey spoke in her typically Laffey manner. "Laffey is also happy that you are okay." And she gave a thumbs-up.

Ayanami could not respond to the three; she just looked at them, confused. But then she remembered, "Wait. Where... is he?"

"You mean Lafayette? He's in the Eagle Union right now," Javelin answered with her cheerful voice.

"I see..." Ayanami spoke, looking down and remembering how she was defeated by him in a single attack.

"Okay, you three will be responsible for our 'prisoner'," Essex said, removing the handcuff from Ayanami's right hand. "It is Admiral Nimitz's order. He wants you three to take care of her and treat her well."

"Yay..."

The four then left the infirmary, leaving Essex alone in the room. Essex turned serious as she watched the four leave.

"Minneapolis."

As soon as she said that name, a tanned woman with white tattoos and wearing a hoodie with Native American embroidery appeared at the window. Her eyes and gaze were similar to an experienced hunter, without letting her prey know her presence.

"You called?" Minneapolis spoke swiftly.

"Yes, I want you to keep an eye on that Sakuran girl."

Minneapolis nodded slowly and vanished into thin air, leaving only an open window and a little gust of wind in the infirmary.

Even though the order came from the Admiral himself, she still did not trust Ayanami. Ayanami was the one who leaked the position of their docked battleships to the Sakura Empire during the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Essex stood there alone. As soon as Minneapolis left, she returned to her usual self.

"I think Miss Enterprise will reward me if I look cool." Essex turned into a potato head, as she was left alone.

Javelin, Unicorn, Laffey, and Ayanami were walking around the Azur Lane Academy grounds, where everyone was gathering and chatting, or just doing their own thing.

Ayanami looked around and saw how peaceful everyone was, having their time playing. This peacefulness reminded her of home; she missed everyone.

"Where is my... ship?" Ayanami asked the three as they walked along the academy's walkways.

Laffey was the one who answered, bluntly. "It's in the dry dock, and it's currently being inspected."

Ayanami's mood turned grim. Javelin tried to change the topic. "Why don't we eat some dessert?"

Laffey and Unicorn lit up.

"Come on, Ayanami."

"Umm..." Ayanami was hesitant about her offer.

Javelin and Laffey grabbed Ayanami's hands and ran to the store she mentioned.

"Come on, I know the right place," she said.

"W-Wait..." Ayanami was still recovering from her injuries, but she was pulled by Javelin and Laffey to the store's location.

Azur Lane Office Building

Adm. Philips was looking down at the four from the office building window. He watched the four run toward the busy marketplace inside the base. He then asked Adm. Nimitz, who sat at his office table.

"Are you sure letting the Captured Prisoner freely walk around the base like that is safe? Would that cause any issues for us?"

"No. I just want to show that Sakuran shipgirl that Azur Lane is not an enemy and that they are still welcome to return to the Alliance," Adm. Nimitz answered, reading the latest report from Washington D.C.

"The higher-ups really want them back in the Alliance, huh?" Adm. Philips asked, contemplating what would happen if the Modern Warships joined the fight.

"Seems like it," Adm. Nimitz replied.

"After what they've done back in December?" Adm. Philips said with a little bit of grief.

"That surprise attack back in December was our own fault. The Alliance undermined them and grew arrogant and incompetent," Adm. Nimitz said with a hint of guilt for letting that happen.

"The Alliance is always thinking about their technological superiority and not the cost of this war," Adm. Philips muttered.

Adm. Philips then returned his gaze to the view outside the window. He then whispered under his breath, "I wonder how Her Majesty would react to Belfast's counterpart?"

Then, the door behind them opened, as Yorktown came in holding report papers. The two admirals looked at her, stopping what they were doing.

"Good morning, Admiral."

Yorktown then read the report. "According to the transmission we've just received minutes ago from Washington D.C., the report says: The Modern Kansen will help us in our endeavors against the Crimson Axis Alliance. The Carrier Strike Group will arrive at Pearl on June 12 and June 16, and the operation will commence. Admiral Nimitz and Admiral Philips, prepare the Shipgirls for immediate sorties."

This surprised both Adm. Nimitz and Adm. Philips, as they didn't expect them to join the fight against the Crimson Axis Alliance.

"So, we are taking the offensive against the Sakura Empire, then...?" Adm. Nimitz asked from his chair.

"Seems like it, Admiral. These are direct orders from the White House," Yorktown responded.

"Finally. We can end this meaningless war," Adm. Philips exclaimed.

Adm. Nimitz immediately gave an order. "I want all available Shipgirls to be ready, and those who need repairs to be repaired. And put the fleet on standby. Contact the deployed fleet to be ready on a moment's notice."

"Yes, Admiral," Yorktown nodded and left the office, heading to the Eagle Union Dorm to inform the Eagle Union shipgirls about the news.

"I'm going to need to inform Wales and the rest about this news," Adm. Philips said, leaving the office and heading to the Royal Navy Dorm to inform the Royal Navy shipgirls about the news too.

Adm. Nimitz leaned back in his chair and murmured to himself. "I hope this nonsense war will end soon... I have a bad feeling that the Sirens are up to something."

Random Japanese Store, Sakura Empire

Shigure, Yuudachi, and Yukikaze stood on a raised platform, exaggerating the whole story about their fight against the Modern Kansens. Some of their younger listeners bought the story, which was filled with exaggeration and demonized the Modern Kansens for the most part.

The adults, on the other hand, were all skeptical of the trio's exaggerated claims and stories about the Modern Kansens' capabilities, which you could only read in science-fiction stories and hear in hearsay.

The Shipgirls wearing Japanese kindergarten clothes with little dog ears listened to the over-exaggerated story of the three with amazement.

The adult ones, or the cruisers and battleships, listened closely and pondered if it was all true, because of the over-exaggeration. Many just left because of the absurdness and lack of authenticity of the story, thinking of it as mumble garble.

No one would believe a Kansen could intercept a 14-inch Shell mid-air and that their anti-air fire was god-tier when it came to interception.

"We entered the harbor unnoticed, but then... there's this Ugly Gremlin," Yukikaze exaggerated and dehumanized Lucas in her stories.

(According to hearsay, Marines got the best and worst dehumanization propaganda by their enemies.)

The Shipgirls wearing Japanese kindergarten clothes gasped at Yukikaze's exaggerated story.

"Whoa... you fought those kind of scary Kansens. Amazing..." one Shipgirl said.

"Hai. Then we pointed our searchlight at him. He was only wearing these

"Hai. Then we pointed our searchlight at him. He was only wearing these clothes with multiple pockets and Pants."

The Shipgirls wearing Japanese kindergarten clothes listened intently, like listening to any kindergarten story telling.

"He pointed his gun at us, and then... Takao and Atago lunged themselves to face this Ugly Gremlin!" Yukikaze said, mimicking the kicks, flips, and sword steps of Takao and Atago.

"Slash, kapow. Kaboom boom! And Pow!" she said in action.

"Then there's this kid, and I, Yukikaze the Great, was about to fight this kid. But Ayanami intervened, so I spared his life," she said proudly, even though, in reality, she got knocked out by a single Light-Weight Torpedo.

One of the Shipgirls raised her hand and asked, "What happened to Ayanami?"

The other Shipgirls listening to the exaggerated story looked at Yukikaze and waited for her response.

"Umm... she got... she got... umm..." Yukikaze sweated, unable to respond. Based on their protocol, they were not allowed to reveal any sensitive information that could degrade the other Shipgirls' morale.

Yukikaze sweated as she searched for the right answer to what happened to Ayanami, and how to explain she got beaten by a Naval Strike Missile, without revealing too much sensitive information.

"That kid cheated! He used some kind of... cheat to beat Ayanami!" Yuudachi shouted, surprising her.

"Hai. He cheated! He's a cheater!" Shigure added.

"He used some kind... of a... 'Iron Blood Rocket' to beat her! He cheated!" Yuudachi and the girls branded Lafayette as a cheater.

"Na-Nani!!!!!!!!"

"Do you think... they will have their way wi-with h-her?" a pink-haired Shipgirl asked.

It was a silent moment, as the trio's imagination ran wild about Ayanami's captivity.

"Ayanami!!!!!!!!!!!!" Yukikaze, Yuudachi, and Shigure cried out.

The Mutsuki-class cried as well. They thought Ayanami would be tortured by her captors.

Haruna, listening to this whole mess, commented, "Maybe we shouldn't let Atago teach these kids at school. She's influencing them too much. I mean... look at this."

"Yeah, I agree with that," Kongou said.

-I don't know what kind of education Atago teaches these kids, but I am certain it is fun-

~At the Corner of the Store~

Two Iron Blood Shipgirls with berets listened to the whole exaggerated story and mild horrible imagination.

"Do you think they were telling the truth? From the sound of it, they're making it more unbelievable by the minute," Z-1 asked, her ears twitching while listening to the exaggerated story of the trio.

"Ja. But the rest of their story is over-exaggerated to the point of being worse than propaganda," Z-23 said, also listening to the exaggerated story of the trio.

"They say the Azur Lane new Kansens used 'Rockets' to defeat Ayanami," Z-1 said, pondering.

"Nein," Z-23 shook her head, her short hair waggling.

"What???"

"It's not rockets. From the description of the three, it is quite similar to 'missile technology'," Z-23 said, her voice turning serious.

"I've heard that in the HQ not so long ago..." Z-1 looked up and pondered.

"Ja. It was rumored back at Iron Blood that we were about to be equipped with 'missile technology' in the near future," Z-23 said, remembering both Bismarck and the 'Furher' planned to equip all Iron Blood Shipgirls with this technology in the near future to combat the Sirens and Azur Lane.

"Cool... when?" Z-1 asked, her eyes sparkling.

"We don't have the current technology right now," Z-23 said with a hint of disappointment in her voice.

Z-1 frowned. "Scheisse."

"But... the scientists in the lab are doing their best to make that come true."

Forest near the Capital

In the bushes, a man wearing Navy SEAL gear and a Ghillie suit slowly crawled under the cover of the bush, not wanting to create a small amount of noise. All of his movements were calculated as he crawled toward the intended target.

He wasn't alone in his objective; beside him were Manjuus with the same gear as him and Ghillie suits, albeit their round bodies made them literal bushes.

He was careful not to cause any small sound, because the whole place was littered with demi-humans with superior hearing, eyesight, and smell. So, making an accidental small noise and smelling different would make him noticeable. This made the job more difficult than any SEAL Operation.

In his hand was a long-range listening device. Arizona was tasked by Enterprise-80 to monitor the Empire and also look for any important information such as plans, key weapons, and potential targets like Official Buildings, Military Bases, and Airfields.

"This is AZ-1, AZ-2, what's the status of the target?" Arizona asked the other team of SEALs (Manjuus) that were in the vicinity.

"AZ-2 to AZ-1, target is on time and discussing with Target-45. They're talking about the deteriorating logistics and supply. It seems like one project is draining all those resources for the fleet."

"AZ-2, continue to the target, it might lead us to this 'project', over," Arizona commanded.

"AZ-1, orders received, over." The communication cut off as the other side of the communication engaged in stalking their target to talk about the 'project'.

After that report, Arizona ordered the rest to lay low as they reached the closest target. He pointed his long-range listening device at one of the buildings that looked like it held any value. The Manjuus tuned in at their headsets as the device picked up conversations inside.

"Oh, for fuck's sake. Your sword skill meant nothing to a ranged missile," one Manjuu mumbled at that absurd claim.

Arizona couldn't help but face-palm and groan at the nonsense he'd been hearing from the Sakuran Shipgirls about their skill and expertise to counter the new threat that Azur Lane imposed.

"It seems everyone here is full of confidence about their own; they just ignore the technology time gap and cope with individual skills. I pray for the poor one who might get beaten by a BGM-109 Tomahawk," he muttered in utter disappointment.

He then shifted his long-range listening device, as he heard a familiar voice. The woman Ninja that he fought back in Pearl.

"That seems interesting." Interested, he shifted his long-range listening device.

That woman was feeling down after that; she didn't mourn the defeat, she mourned the death of those she should be defending. Arizona now felt the impact of his actions. He didn't feel any sympathy for those dead operatives, but by the way he was painted in her story.

Arizona did just now notice that he was grinning back at that fight like he was anticipating something. A payback.

The moment he saw those Imperial Operatives wearing Ninja Outfits, he lashed out and started targeting them like it was nothing. The crying voice of BB Arizona still lingered inside his head that day, and bad luck for those Ninjas popping out of the bushes. In pure rage, he just pulled the trigger.

"So that's how you want to paint me? So be it... even if the Empire turns to ash," Arizona said as if it was a vow.

A vow for BB Arizona back in their world, the crying face of BB Arizona of this world. He can't let that tragedy happen.

The Manjuus beside him noticed a death aura forming around him. One of them tapped him on his side in order for him to return to reality.

Arizona snapped back, as the death aura around him dissipated. He looked at his colleagues, who looked petrified at his death aura.

"Stay with us, sir. We can't hinder the operation with revenge," one of them said, hands still over his shoulder.

Arizona just noticed that he was reaching for his M82 Barrett. He calmed his beating heart along with his breathing, he cleared his mind of the thoughts of revenge.

"Did I just?"

"Yes, you were seconds from blowing it."

He took a deep sigh. "Let's move to another location; there is no important information we can gather here," he said as they all packed up.

He and the rest of the Manjuus moved to another location, because the information he gathered was a bunch of arrogant Shipgirls and Military High-Ranks who didn't see the devastation of modern warfare. They thought a decisive battle would make everything winnable.

This kind of thinking was gone in the past, as isometric and guerrilla tactics were the norm of every nation at war.

He moved to a location with a peculiar blocky design with an Iron Cross at the entrance. He was careful not to leave any tracks as he left. He then reached the building with a red flag and an Iron Cross.

'Well. That didn't raise any red flags,' Arizona thought as he looked at the building similar to Third Reich Germany infrastructure.

His train of thought was cut off by a seductive voice of a woman speaking with a German accent. This caught his attention and interest.

He adjusted the frequency of his long-range listening device, focusing solely on this woman's voice with a German accent as she spoke.

"Well, I'm not that surprised Walmart Third Reich is here," Arizona said, listening intently without losing focus on the German accent.

He was having a good time listening to that woman's seductive voice with a German accent. He didn't lose focus, but the information she spoke was like a gold mine. Some of the information they gathered was blurry, lacking crucial details. Now, this German woman was giving them a full lecture, and they wrote it down.

"AZ-1, I want a bug on that building," Arizona ordered.

AZ-1 and his team waited for the night to blanket the sky to infiltrate the embassy. Their objectives: Plant listening devices everywhere.

Iron Blood Embassy

Eugen was talking to someone on the telephone. The telephone was a 1930s nickel-plated rotary telephone with a porcelain dial, as she rested her foot on the table.

"Ja, Herr (Lord) Bismarck. According to the recent report from the force that was sent to Azur Lane Base, the size of the aircraft carrier was 337 meters in Shoukaku's report. And the other was 257 meters in Hakuryuu's report. One of these two Carriers is enough to rival Graf Zeppelin."

"What about the battle?"

"About the battle? The battle between the carrier and the Crane Sisters only lasted a minute. Shoukaku received an injury at her right shoulder after getting shot by a handgun." Eugen paused, glancing at the report papers on the table.

"Also, Lady Musashi wants some reinforcements from Iron Blood."

"Why is that? I thought they could handle Azur Lane in the Pacific."

"Nein. Lady Shinano is having a premonition about the new Kansens that the Allied has. She also thinks that they might poke someone in the face."

"I'm sending Graf Zeppelin to Sakura Empire to test our new weapon."

"You want to send Graf Zeppelin to Sakura Empire to test the capability of this carrier?"

"Graf Zeppelin will be equipped with Me 262s armed with Ruhrstahl X-4s."

"Ja. What about the carrier escort?"

"I'm sending Odin and Roon. Roon will be enough to handle the other two escort ships."

"You're sending Odin and Roon to face the escorts. Ja, you're right. Roon alone will be enough to handle the two escort ships, at once. Ja, Gnadige Frau."

Before Eugen was about to put down the phone, Bismarck spoke. "Eugen."

Eugen paused from putting down the phone and quickly responded. "Ja, Herr Bismarck?"

"If Sakura Empire falls, I want you all to retreat to the nearest Iron Blood territory."

"Thank you, Lord Bismarck..."

She then put down the telephone, as the conversation between the two ended. She then smirked, gaining confidence in their victory against Azur Lane's new ships.

"Let's see what your new ships can do against the strongest Iron Blood ships... Azur Lane?"

Bushes

Arizona was listening to Eugen's remarks, holding back his laughter in the bushes. He maintained his stoic face as he listened to some absurd claims and cope of capabilities. Some of his colleagues couldn't take it, chuckling, some burying their faces in the ground to not break cover, but their shivering round bodies said they were laughing their asses off.

Arizona couldn't help but think about that meme, like of John Cena. 'John Cena: Are you sure about that?'

"Strong my ass... you didn't even win WW2... a Trillion-Dollar Defense Budget will prove you're wrong. Oh... man. That... that was pure comedy, over there," one of them remarked.

After a minute of chuckling like a bunch of chickens, the Manjuus got back to reality, washing their faces with a serious expression.

After that, everyone was silent, only the chirping and sounds of mother nature sounding in the surrounding foliage that provided them cover.

"I need to report this immediately to Enterprise," Arizona said to himself, as his colleagues just recovered from Eugen's remarks that made them laugh.

A Virginia-Class Submarine lurked under in the deeper area of the coast of Sakura Empire. He chose this spot because it was deep enough to avoid fishing nets, divers, and patrolling ASW Ships.

The Manjuu responsible for transmission received a radio call from Arizona. The Submarine released a towed buoy antenna to the surface, to send a highly encrypted message to the Strike Group.

As Arizona and his team were about to leave the area, his radio crackled. AZ-2 located the location of the "Project." The sound of their chirping voices sounded urgent.

"AZ-2 to AZ-1, we found the location of the said 'project'. And... there's something you need to see." The sound was so serious that the one reporting was quivering.

"AZ-2, I'm on my way," he replied.

"Something shaken them to the core; it must be that terrifying," he muttered to himself.

Unknown Dock, Sakura Empire

A massive vessel with a length of 400+ meters, with a design similar to a Siren Ship. It had two massive Plasma Cannons in each turret at the bow, in a super-firing configuration, and two angled flight decks on its starboard and port sides. The color scheme was red and jet-black, similar to a Siren Ship, and it had weird alien red markings.

Two Fox-Women were standing on one of the flight decks. The Fox-Women were facing a white-haired girl with black tentacles, wearing only a small amount of 'cover' and 8 Plasma Cannons.

"You said the whole Mirror Sea was stable enough to trap Azur Lane... then why? Why did it collapse?! Tell me?!" Akagi asked in anger at the Tentacle Girl.

"Oh, poor Akagi... your body cannot hold that much power of the Black Mental Cube. That's the reason why the whole Mirror Sea collapsed on its own, is your own fault. The Black Mental Cube's only intended use is to gather information and energy for Orochi's... revival. But you. Yes, you. You intend to use it for yourself, knowing the fact that it will fail." The Tentacle Girl pointed an accusatory finger at the fuming Akagi.

"What do you mean?" Akagi asked, puckers forming on her forehead.

"You used the Black Mental Cube to defeat Enterprise, but failed. You are the one who failed to finish her and caused the whole Mirror Sea to collapse." The Tentacle Girl said in a weird alien voice, with a hint of an accusatory tone.

"So... you're telling me that I'm weak and cannot defeat Enterprise in a battle! Is that what you are referring to?!" Akagi yelled in anger.

"Nee-Sama, calm down. She's only messing with you," Kaga said, holding her down to keep her from exploding in rage.

Tester α prepared her six Plasma Cannons to fire at a moment's notice, as Akagi tried to throw her red-paper cut-outs at the Tentacle Girl, who had a smug look on her face.

The Tentacle Girl raised a hand, motioning her escort to cease any hostile intentions. "Lower your weapons, Tester Α. We are merely a guest in this meeting," she said.

"As you wish, Observer α," Tester α said, lowering her Plasma Cannons. The six Plasma Cannons emitted a humming sound of powering down.

The tentacle girl was Observer α.

"Nee-sama, calm down... this is not you. Remember, she's only toying with you," Kaga spoke to calm down her half-sister.

Akagi calmed down. She then fixed her messy hair and wrinkled kimono. "You're right... this is not me."

"Maybe you should act like your half-sister there; she's a bit calmer than you, Akagi. You might lose her one day."

Kaga gritted her teeth and readied her blue-paper cut-outs. "What the hell did you just say?!"

"That's enough, Kaga, this is my problem," Akagi said, confronting Observer α.

Observer α turned serious, her voice changing tone. "The power of this Black Mental Cube," she then summoned a cube in thin air. The cube materialized as the Black Mental Cube. "Is beyond any of your dreams and imagination."

Observer α got closer to Akagi and gave her the Black Mental Cube. She then leaned forward to her face and whispered in Akagi's ear.

"Orochi is humanity's future, if it was completed. It will be a hope to mankind and bring 'salvation'."

Kaga gritted her teeth at the sight. "Get your hands off of her!"

Akagi pushed Observer α back. "You should leave, Observer α, before the radar detects your portals."

The Azur Lane Alliance created special radars that could detect Siren portals with the help of Wisdom Cubes, providing the power source and computer calculations for the radar. The Siren Portal Radar wasn't accurate in pinpointing the location of the portal, but it was enough to give them a window of time to prepare for a Siren appearance.

One radar in Sakura Empire stationed in the area was under maintenance at the moment. Without ado, Observer α and Akagi used this opportunity to meet up. They only had a minute before the radar was turned back on.

"My, my, I never thought you were worried about me, Akagi," Observer α teased Akagi.

Observer α gave her advice. "Remember, Akagi, the Black Mental Cube is powerful, so don't do that again. Power is easy to use, but it isn't easy to maintain, especially with that Carrier Azur Lane possesses."

She then opened a purple portal behind her and entered, as Tester α followed to secure her rear.

Observer α cursed under her breath.

"Damn it. Code-G bringing an outsider into the fight isn't going to help them... Let's see if they are a match for Orochi." She then grinned evilly, imagining the devastation that Orochi could bring to humanity.

Unbeknownst to Observer α, Code-G brought a more devastating war machine that humanity in another world could master. This kind of devastation eclipsed that of Orochi.

Akagi and Kaga both breathed a sigh of relief that their problematic guest was now gone. If they were caught having a conversation with a Siren, it could be disastrous for them, let alone conspiring with one.

Their confidence was shattered when someone entered the dock and called out Akagi's name. "Sempai, is everything alright up there? I heard you guys were talking to someone?"

Akagi responded frantically to the person who asked. "No, it's nothing, Zuikaku. We were just... checking Orochi up here."

Zuikaku tilted her head, confused as to why her Sempai responded so frantically. It seemed like she was hiding something very important. She just ignored it, knowing her Sempai acted weird sometimes.

"Okay. Lady Musashi wants you at the meeting room." After Zuikaku said this, she left the dock, unaware of the transaction between Akagi and the Sirens.

Akagi and Kaga breathed a sigh of relief that they weren't caught in the act.

"That was a close one, Nee-sama," Kaga commented, breathing heavily in nervousness.

"I know. We're lucky no one saw or heard that," Akagi responded, as they prepared to leave the dock.

"Do you think she's telling the truth, Nee-sama?" Kaga asked, somewhat concerned about Observer α's words.

"Hai, Lady Musashi does not yet understand the true power of Orochi," Akagi replied, staring intently at the Black Mental Cube.

"Soon... we will meet again, Amagi nee-san," she muttered to herself.

Kaga noticed her half-sister's odd behavior, but ignored it, because that was her sister. "Let's head out, before someone suspects us, Nee-san."

"Hai."

A Black Hornet Nano Drone hovered in the distance, recording everything. The camera zoomed in to take a picture of the faces of the two Fox-Women. Arizona and his team flew a drone in the area to confirm the identity of the voices of the two Fox-Women and that Tentacle Alien Girl.

"Gotcha in 4K, bitch!" Arizona muttered, as he recorded the whole conversation between the two.

"Let's see how they would react if they saw this treacherous act," he said.

Siren Base, Southern Pacific.

"Are you sure Akagi will finish the construction of Orochi in time?" Tester α asked with uncertainty in her voice.

"Yes. I know she will, because the Empire is in dire need of capable Shipgirls that can match those 'summoned Kansens'," Observer α said with her typical cheeky tone.

"Let's hope she will..."

"Oh, she will. She's too obsessed with reviving her long-dead sister, that she's forgotten how dangerous the path she chooses. She's being blinded by her own revenge that she has to resort to using our tech to reach the power necessary for revenge."

"Besides, she's our dear puppet~," Observer α then laughed, as a typical villain would.

Tester α still had doubts about Akagi being their puppet.
