Xu Weiran, upon answering the phone, immediately heard Mother Xu's voice come through, "You little rascal, bring your girlfriend home for dinner next weekend."
"I'll ask her," Xu Weiran didn't reject the idea outright, as he did want to introduce Sheng Ning'an to his parents, and put an end to his mother's attempts to set him up on blind dates.
Of course, that was if the girl agreed.

It was only after hanging up the phone that she thought to ask Mr. Xu, "Was I too anxious? Could I have scared the girl?"
