"You know what you're doing, right?" Gray called to his side, glancing over at Tatsumaki as they flew through the air.
"Of course I do! Worry about yourself, alien!" Tatsumaki shouted back, glaring at him lightly as they approached their destination.
The sky around them was dark - far darker than most planets' night was, and much darker than the night had been on Earth.
It's not even night either.
There was no day and night cycle on Monas - there was dark, darker, and then slightly less dark as its moon floated overhead. The moon wasn't quite in the sky yet, but it would be soon as Gray's squad timed their attack carefully.
Not to stroke my own ego, but this is a good-ass plan.
Gray had quickly realized that he was out of his league here as he couldn't see both Saitama and Tatsumaki's power levels. It was one thing to be far weaker than the one-shotting man who was designed to be overpowered, but it was another to be weaker than someone who was only the rank 2 S-Class hero.
Saitama's not even rank 1 either.
Gray had learned from his conversation with Tatsumaki that Saitama wasn't the S-Class rank 1 hero, as his true strength wasn't known by the Hero Association.
That meant there was another S-Class hero, Blast, who was supposedly doing 'something, I don't know what' on Monas - which were Tatsumaki's words, not Gray's - who was stronger than Gray as well. In response to the power gap, Gray had finally let go of his tight hold on his available points - evenly spreading most of them between STR, END, and AGI. He put a bit extra in END to put it closer to the range of the other two, and then dumped 100 points into both INT and MP.
As a result, his stat sheet was now looking like this:

Despite shooting up to 23 billion in power level, Gray still wasn't feeling all that great about the mission as he looked at Tatsumaki - whose full stats he could see now.

[Brash Modifier] - Individuals with this modifier will be naturally brash, being blunt and assertive to those they don't respect.
The woman's power level was, frankly, insane. Her Ki amount then did the impossible and managed to be even more insane.
By a King Vegeta-tier mission, they meant an Ozaru King Vegeta-tier mission!
The woman was much stronger than the 27 billion power level King Vegeta, which meant even the Saiyan King would need to transform to take her down.
Granted, when he did, it would be a stomp.
While Tatsumaki was stronger in base form, Ozaru King Vegeta would be sitting at a hefty 270 billion. In the same vein, with Gray's [Perfect Ozaru] he would be around the same.
The only solace that came from Tatsumaki's high power level was that she thought she could take on one of three threats - either the Monster King, the wannabe Frieza, or Turles - on her own. If her thoughts were correct, then Gray felt much more confident about using his Ozaru-form to curb-stomp them.
But it's better to be safe.
While Gray didn't think the woman was lying, he also didn't know if she understood just how powerful the Tree of Might was. If she thought the Monster King was around her range in power, that being in the 40 billions, then he would've been at 400 billion from just one fruit.
If they ate multiple, then we're fucked.
You at least couldn't eat multiple of the fruit in a short span, as it would completely wreck your body and possibly kill you, but Gray didn't know how long the tree had been on Monas.
The Saiyan squad only arrived a bit ago, right? Surely they haven't had time to eat a bunch!

It's Nightmare Mode. I bet they had a whole fuckin' buffet!
But the Tree of Might was also essential for Gray's squad in their plan, which was why they had split up. Right now, it was Gray, Tatsumaki, Fubuki, and Caulifla flying alone as they headed toward the tower. They were flying far above the surface of the planet, heading directly for the top of the massive tower.
Far below them, a different group composed of Saitama, Genos, Pig God, Zombieman, Suiryu, Bang, Atomic Samurai, and Atomic Samurai's students were moving on the ground. They were headed towards the bottom of the tower, where they'd have to navigate through the maze-like underground with the goal of taking down the Monster King and his executives.
The rest of Gray's squad were also moving through the air, either far below the four in the skies or far to the sides as they circled around the tower. They were heading for their own positions, needing to be ready to launch the assault right as the moon moved overhead. The plan had been pretty simple and had been concocted by a combination of Gray, Celia, Tatsumaki, and Bang.
First - various groups of Saiyans would scatter around the outskirts of the mountain. The groups had been divided up with an overall strong fighter in each one to ensure everything went smoothly.
I balanced them well, so no one should be at risk of dying.
That wasn't entirely true, as everyone was at risk of dying on a mission like this, but-
They'll be in their Ozaru's, and I told them to retreat if they need to.
The groups had been divided up pretty evenly, with the first one consisting of Celia, Cabba, Asia, and Tamari, the second one of Saeko, Asuna, Raphtalia, and Ochaco, and the final one of Kale, Raditz, Fasha, Yen, and Len.
The three groups would wait in hiding, and when the moon came overhead, they would transform and start causing havoc. From Tatsumaki's intel, Gray knew that there would only be decently strong monsters on the above-ground area - as the surface levels of the tower had been built hastily to surround and protect the Tree of Might. Aside from the top, where Turles' group and the wannabe Frieza would be, there weren't any other threats.
Their rampage would give Saitama's group the chance to slip in and start making their way down to the Monster King, who was their final goal. They would take him down along with the other executives, leaving the top of the tower to Gray's group.
That's where the real plan comes in.
"That's it," Tatsumaki called out to his side, but Gray didn't need the warning. Even with the intense darkness and constant fog in the air, the large tower was impossible to miss.
This really wasn't here not even a year ago?
Tatsumaki had said the upper portion of the tower hadn't existed when she originally visited for the alliance talks with the Monster King, but Gray didn't see how that was possible. The tower was massive - it had to be in order to hide to Tree of Might - as it stretched literally tens of thousands of feet into the air.
It was like a beacon, as if the monsters who built it were trying to climb their way to heaven. Gray couldn't see the top even as they floated thousands of feet in the air, and he didn't doubt that the actual structure was visible from space. Its height wasn't the only huge thing about it either, as it stretched thousands of feet in each direction, and Gray couldn't see either end of it. It looked less like a circular tower and more like a wall - as if Gray had reached the edge of the world, and there was a never-ending wall blocking him from continuing.
It was rather ominous too, as the entire structure was made of an ugly purple brick. It blended in with the darkness around them, making it hard to distinguish the actual structure from the dark night around them even with Gray's supernatural eyes.
Is there some kind of building-specialist monster?
Gray couldn't believe such a grand structure was made in under a year. Even if the planet were full of ultra-powerful monsters that could perform superhuman feats with ease, building something far longer, taller, and grander than the Great Wall of China in just a year seemed absurd.
"It's a bit higher," Gray said, pulling himself out of slightly awe-filled thoughts about the structure as he looked up and reached out his senses. Not too far above him, it was easy to pick out the energy signature of Turles.
He's fuckin' strong.
It was at least who Gray assumed was Turles, as there was only one actually oppressive energy signature in the tower. There were a couple of much smaller ones-
Which aren't that small. Damn.
Even the 'smaller' ones, which likely belonged to Turles' squad members, were around Gray's own Ki reserves. However, amongst the flurry of Gray-level energy signatures, one stuck out like a sore thumb.
She's got a crazy ego if she thought she could handle him.
Tatsumaki wasn't weak by any means, and her Ki reserves were actually pretty insane even for her power level. She was obviously a Ki-based fighter whose strength was being underselled by even her insane power level, which made the massive pool of Ki above him all the more concerning.
Turles isn't a Ki-based fighter. He's got the body of an evil-ass Goku.
The man was literally hue-shifted Goku, looking like a stereotypical evil version of him. His body was muscular, lean, and made for fighting. For a close-combat specialist, his Ki pool was definitely out of the ordinary.
I can't tell which is larger, but they're close.
The signature that Gray assumed was Turles felt close to Tatsumaki's in size, though it was hard to get a good read on anything when Tatsumaki's insane and oppressive Ki-pool was so close by.
I don't sense anyone else strong. Is the tyrant guy not here?
That was a bit concerning for the rest of Gray's squad, but Gray hoped the man was just not a Ki-based fighter, and thus his signature was being dwarfed by Turles.
He's going to be a challenge, but we don't have to fight him yet.
Gray's lips twitched up into a grin as he glanced up, watching as the sliver of a moon was starting to appear through the darkness overhead.
I just need to get past him.
The final part of the plan was simple - Tatsumaki would take on the wannabe tyrant, and Ozaru-form Caulifla would take on Turles. While that was happening, Gray was going to make his move.
I'm heading to the Tree of Might.
Gray could sense the tree far within the tower, as the dense energy within each fruit couldn't be shadowed by even Tatsumaki and Turles' insane Ki pools filling the sky.
Gray's arm twitched as the transformation started, his muscles starting to bulge as the Ozaru form took over. His lips twitched up, his eyes zoned in on the wall as his half-ape fist rose to smash through it.
While the enemies inside were daunting, the reward was far more appealing. It would help Gray not just on this mission, but for his entire future.
I'm gonna eat that fuckin' fruit.
