The current leader of this group twisted his head to the side. "I know not who this old hag you speak of is supposed to be. We were sent here to visit with our brother, and potentially form a united front against these invaders."
Night Silver smiled, giggling as she listened to the utter insanity spewing from the dragon's mouth. They had 20 dragons when they departed. That means they lost 5 of them on their way here. That Great Mother of theirs isn't so great now, is she? "So the old hag decided to reach out after so many of her babies were killed."
Brightness, having been estranged from his brothers, sisters and mother for a rather long time now walked over and wrapped his arm around his mate. "I guess that means you're a far better mother than she is. You protected our babies from them, while she sent her own out to get slaughtered."
"Brighty, if you keep talking like that, I'm going to pounce on you again. I certainly wouldn't mind having more kids." She seductively licked her lips. "But, now's not the time. These idiots need help and while I am loathed to assist them in really any capacity after what's happened in the past. I'm willing to help them in certain ways."
"Are you sure about that darling? You and my mother have never got along."
"Well, I'm not going to help right away. She needs to make some concessions before I'd bother helping her." She smirked. Damn, now I want another baby… Damn it. I'll have to find someone worthy of my flesh now. "Achem, what do you in-laws think about that?"
"Mother did say to make a deal. We can't defeat these enemies on our own. They just keep coming back every time they die."
"Very well then. First, I'd like to reserve the right to make any future demands of this mother of yours. Second, she will drop her idiotic grudge for killing a few of her unruly children a hundred years ago. Third, you are not to touch my precious children in the manner you dragons normally do. Fourth, I want to be relatively left alone after this. And finally, for now, fifth, You must call these evil greed kings as invited assailants."
The visiting dragons were about to start bickering with their sister in-law, then the head of the group spread his wings to shut them up. He looked directly into Night Silver's eyes.
"Why should we call invaders, anything else?"
"I'm not telling you to do that. I'm simply demanding that you call them what they are. They didn't invade this world. They were invited here by the summoning spell you all cast. Calling them invaders is far too harsh, considering they would never have arrived here had they not been invited."
With a low growl, the head of the pack showed he was annoyed. Though he quickly retracted this display of displeasure once he remembered that he was talking to what were effectively past enemies, and current annoyances.
"You can be angry with my demands all you want to be. It won't change the fact I know the situation far better than you do. And the fact of the matter is, you need my help. The reverse is not true." She continued. "Also, the only reason you've been given a chance is because my mate wants to give you a chance. If this wasn't the case, I'd be making sure you pay dearly for inviting the greed kings to this world and thus causing my children harm by extension."
"You really should accept my mate's demands. You're not really in any condition to refuse now, are you?"
"I may be injured, brother, but I'm a dragon. I can't just accept these unreasonable demands!"
"Unreasonable? What exactly is unreasonable about them?"
"All of them! Those damned greed kings, as you call them, have killed so many of my brothers and sisters now…"
"And, your point? I fell in love with her even after she had killed some of our family. Once I heard the reason why she took their lives, I shuddered at the thought of ever considering them siblings." He paused to kiss his mate. "It's not that I didn't care, it's that they were doing the exact same thing to her and her people, that these greed kings are doing to you now."
"But! That's not the same!"
"Oh but it is. Now stop being so obstinate and accept the terms of the deal. Do so and I'm sure my mate would be more than willing to heal your wounds."
"Brother, you can't be serious here. She's just an elf."
"An elf that can deal with those unwanted, yet invited guests call the greed kings. In fact she's already killed 6 of them once. Ever since then they haven't dared to appear near our Tus Nadair."
The adrenaline surge the 15 dragons had from the battle was finally starting to fade. And they could no longer support the weight of their bodies, collapsing to the ground as a result.
"Fine, I'll accept these terms of the deal. But that first one must be subject to scrutiny. I can't promise that Mother will be receptive to anything. She's probably going to be repulsed by this very list of demands as is."
"Pfft, well, that's not my problem. She's the one that caused all of this trouble by refusing to discipline her children properly. And now we're all paying for it, including yourself. Had you all decided to let her do the spell on her own, it would have taken her a bit longer to cast it. But that would have been time you could have used to grow stronger, thus having a better chance at surviving encounters with, who are now our common enemy."
Night Silver used her magic, healing the 15 dragons all at once. Their injuries vanished as if they had never been there. And if that wasn't enough, she even cured their exhaustion.
"Ahahaha! Seeing your magic never gets old. I love being reminded why I choose you to be my mate."
"Careful, Brighty, You might not be able to handle how pent up I am now. Actually, I have an idea… But I definitely need you on board with it for it to work. Eh, we can work on it another time after we rid this world of the greed king's influence.
