Chapter 14 - Return of the DEAD.

The castle trembled beneath their feet as the walls shook like A dying God's skeleton, the enormous castle roof started shrinking and Al-samash seemed to be crashing down altogether, Fannah was still holding Sufiyan, trying to find his way back to the child, who seemed to be running towards them through the rubble, Fannah ran towards him too, trying to get a hold of him as Sehlan was ready to fly them away.

Fannah was about to hold the boy's hand and yank him towards himself, when a whip of air crossed between them and Fannah could not see the boy anymore.

The pillars in the castle came crashing down and then he heard it, Sehlan was flapping his wings, crashing into the pillars and walls as he shot up towards the sky, with the child on his back.

"No, Sehlan, take us with you". Fannah screamed as the Hell's destruction slithered through the ruins.

"Too many pessangers, this one is light so I am taking him, moreover", Sehlan said taking a pause before flaring his nostrils, "I don't care for love stories". He said and took off, but Fannah could not do anything.

Too stunned to speak, he held Sufiyan close to his heart, sitting down in the ruins, too tired to run away or find a safe zone, he cradled Sufiyan to his chest, like waiting for his death, but as Sehlan was about to break through the roof and fly away, a voice rumbled through the crashing walls of the castle.

"Put me down, I don't want to go if they die". The child howled, making Sehlan's wings falter mid-air.

"No, I am not going back", the dragon roared back, frustrated.

"I will jump if you don't take them with us". The boy threatened, as tears pooled around his eyes.

"I don't care, jump off if you want to be eaten by that monster". Sehlan replied in utter rage, flapping his ruby scaled wings higher, he had been in this prison for millions of years and wanted to get out as soon as possible, not caring who lived or died, not even this damned child in rags.

"Okay". The child said, making him more furious then ever, Sehlan knew he was just threatening him and was about to teach him a lesson, when he felt that the child was not in his claws anymore.

Sehlan's pupils widened in horror.

"Fucking idiot", he screamed as he dove downwards, his eyes trying to catch a glance of the boy who he wished was not already dead yet.

Sehlan narrowed his wings, flying downwards through the shambles of the kingdom of Al-samash, when he finally spotted the boy, close to the ground, his arms and legs widened, his eyes closed and rags flying, in the air, ready to embrace the imprisonment of life.

" I will change my name if I don't teach you a lesson later". Sehlan thought as a gust of relief enveloped him on spotting the boy, he dove faster, getting to the boy and in a few minutes, he was already back in Sehlan's claws, trying to fight tooth and nail to be left to die.

"Shut up, i am going to take them too". Sehlan roared, shifting towards where Fannah was sitting with Sufiyan in his arms.

"We could have been faster, if you didn't leave them behind in the first place". The child complained as he climbed to his back.

"You little shit, i will deal with you later". Sehlan grumbled frustrated and a tiny bit horrified.

He flew towards Fannah who was already standing now, looking at the whole scene with worry and horror.

"Get on before I change my mind". Sehlan said, rolling his eyes in annoyance.

"Why did you do that?", Fannah asked the boy as he got on the dragon back and hugged him tightly.

"Because, you are my brother". The child replied as Sehlan got ready to take the flight again.

"Remember this, if I die today, I will haunt your 10 future generations". Sehlan said, cutting the conversation between two tragic brothers.

"Don't bother, if you die, we die and I am the only child in my family, so you will have no one to haunt". Fannah replied, holding on to the two of his dearest beings as they flew through the roof, straight into the bloody sea, as the Hell's destruction pursued them, playing different illusions every second, like a broken recorder, but nothing mattered anymore, Fannah knew they would not be able to do anything to the people in the real world and the people he was worried about here, were already in his arms.

The bloody sea had already turned into a black fire, burning their bodies all together, the dragon flew faster, abandoning grace and elegance, like he just wanted to love, not caring for what the humans would think, as they were about to pass above the city centre, the divine being screamed.

"Fannah, throw your pendant into the chimney", the divine being said, chanting incitations rapidly into his brain.

Fannah, who had not even known that he was wearing a pendant, tried to pull it out, but could not even budge it, so he leaned backward on Sehlan's back and then pulled forward with both his hands, making the veins in his neck cut open, he pulled the pendant off and threw it into the chimney before they flew above it, as volcanic eruptions burst throughout the sea.

They were already out of the bloody sea and in the magical sky of Al-samash, when Fannah saw that the eruptions from the sea had already started burning the most beautiful kingdom of this universe, no more laiden with lights and sounds, the city turned black and the monsters erupted from all the corners, the rubies had turned ashes and the city into char and burn.

As they were getting closer to the door, the divine being finally stopped whatever it was doing.

"Let go of the child", it instructed Fannah quietly, like somebody else could hear them now.

"What, no". Fannah replied but before he could hold on to the boy tighter, his eyes went blank and before completely going unconscious, he heard Sehlan's voice.

"Goodbye, lover boy", he said before he dropped the two of them mid air.

....

Fannah was falling, his body burning, his heart heavy and bloodied, and scream for help stuck in his throat,

Boom,

A blinding white light made his eyes go blind, the smell of disinfectant and antibiotics.

Fannah jolted forward like he was kicked by something powerful, his legs were already running, sprinting through a narrow hallway, the warm air made him suffocate more as his legs rushed forward, his eyes full of tears, faces and white uniforms passing by him.

After a few moments his legs finally came to a halt as his hands clutched the handle of a room, black fire still erupting in his eyes as someone called him, but Fannah could not hear it.

He had his hands on the door of the room he had been to before, where he had seen the lifeless body of the most beautiful human on earth, Fannah took a deep breath trying to calm his heart as he pulled the door open with so much strength that the door almost come off the hinges and he finally stepped inside.

There a bunch of doctors were stood around the bed, discussing something among themselves before they heard the door open.

"Get out, what are you doing here, nurse", one of them screamed in anger but Fannah could not care less at this moment, he put his hands on the door.

"Is he alive?", he asked looking at the doctors in front of him.

"Yes, he is". The doctor said but before Fannah could finally heard what they were saying, his body had already hit the floor with a loud thud and his lips had gone blue, just like his body that had frozen like it had finally gave up on living.
