Two days after Wendigo Will's wedding, I wake up early, have my coffee in the room and read the Mabinogion. I'm not sure why I'm in the mood for ancient Welsh stories. Yesterday I was reading stories from the Mahabharata.
In any case, I have breakfast in the room, shower dress, and come out to find Kryptosia shaking Daji awake. "Are you alright?" Kryptosia sounds as worried as she ever gets. "You're not trapped in some sort of Mothman or Consortium nightmare."
"Go 'way," Daji mumbles.
Smiling, I assert, "I take that to be a 'no.'"
"Go 'way," Daji repeats, rolling over.
The sheets pull taut around her growing baby bump. Her tummy is the size of a prize watermelon. A fruit that, by the way, she craved last night at midnight.
I've read new information, namely that fox spirits are pregnant for six to eight months. Dr. Pius has confirmed this. Apparently, fox spirits like to keep their pregnancy and childbirth a mystery, and Pius hasn't delivered any kitsune babies to date.
