Chapter 290 - Chapter 290 Fire and horror 8

Ava couldn't comprehend what just happened. Did Logan just mention that Slyvia was the most powerful witch ever born, and not only that, she was also a divine being? No wonder the striking similarities in hair of both her and Asher.

"That was intense. I can't believe it, Slyvia," Ava stammered.

Slyvia nodded absent-mindedly. She was in tears now; her father was gone. Even though he wasn't her real father, he was more than one, and now, because of the war, she was about to lose him. Slyvia broke down in tears.

Ava, who didn't know how to console the poor girl, was flustered. Emily, who was around, facepalmed herself and rushed to Slyvia's side.

"It's okay, dear. I know how it feels. Even though I have both of my parents, I consider them both dead because they are nothing but animals. But you yourself have the most beautiful family ever, but it was lost. And your mom, the one that carried you — she's so cool to have taken you completely, even without you doubting her. She's amazing."

Emily's sweet words made Ava and Slyvia smile. Emily has never been this sweet and understanding; it seems her coming back from the dead was a good deed. Ava, who stood there awkwardly, came and hugged Slyvia.

"My own father left me to be killed by those gods, so Slyvia, you have amazing parents. I wish I got to see their story. I would have been your mom's fan. And by the description of her ethereal hair and eyes, with her face, she looks so beautiful and majestic. She's a hero because if not for her, the world we know would have ended," Ava, supportive as ever, chimed in.

Slyvia laughed. Yes, her mother was iconic, but at this point, she was now officially an orphan. Only if her foster mom isn't dead yet — but is that really assured?

Emily, who stood up suddenly, announced the pressing issue at hand, which was dangerous as ever.

"Sorry to break this beautiful moment and understanding. An abomination is currently walking around the school with several armies of the dead, so by what I am seeing, it's heading here, and the little people we saved might get killed this time around," Emily deadpanned.

Slyvia stood up quickly. That was really an emergency.

"Like how many are they?" Slyvia asked, hoping they aren't much, but Emily's face twisted with dread.

"We need serious help, guys. The armies of the dead are like thousands, and the leader is something that's horrifying — a giant, and not only that, an evil, undead, and abominable one," Emily announced, not bothering to sugarcoat her words.

Ava, whose eyes were shallow, realized the predicament they were in, and then she turned to Emily.

"Has any of you seen Rose?" she questioned, and Slyvia suddenly remembered what happened moments ago when Rose attacked and brutally annihilated Zandros, the so-called dragon lord, and not only that, she commanded a formidable dragon with a strange incantation. Goodness, how could she forget something like that?

"Guys, I think Rose can control dragons now." Her words hit the two girls like a stone.

Emily's shocked-like face was priceless. Then her voice came out, shock written all over it.

"How in the hell do things like this keep happening? Like, what the heck?" Emily exclaimed in surprise.

But their happiness was short-lived. A stomp on the ground made them tremble, and on looking up, they saw a silhouette of a huge, terrifying force scavenging through the forest like a demon looking for its victims, and Slyvia's face fell in horror.

That was one of a kind of horror.

"You got to be kidding me. What do we do now?" Slyvia exclaimed, noticing how the massive abomination was surrounded by thousands of undead, and by mere looking, they weren't going to survive for too long.

"Emily, go right now to the Golden Gate and ask for help. We teenagers are the future of the world, and if they all perish, humanity will be lost," Slyvia declared.

Emily nodded. Ava, too, was supportive of the idea. She had this feeling that Asher was alive, and whatever may come, they should get these children to safety.

Slyvia immediately conducted a spell that shielded the survivors of the schools and formed a massive inferno that blocked any external attacks of all kinds.

"Okay, now we go hard for humanity. Whatever may come, we go through this together."

"Emily, even though we still don't understand how you got your powers, still stay behind us. But as much as we can, humanity must thrive," Slyvia encouraged.

Emily smiled. Even she herself doesn't know how she began changing internally. Her body wasn't like before, and now, with her gift, she can save the world and maybe try to fix herself from the guilt that clawed at her from Luna's brutal death.

"So, for humanity," Slyvia declared.

"Yes, for humanity," Emily and Ava chorused, while taking their various weapons which Emily took from whatever place she took them from.

Now it was time to defend their homeland. The final battle is on...
