Chapter 289 - Chapter 289 Fire and horror 7

Amidst the terrible battle going on, two figures could be seen performing a spell on another person.

Slyvia, who was the victim receiving the treatment, suddenly stood up, eyes wide as saucers.

"Where am I?" she questioned Ava, who was guiding what seemed like a golden thread on her.

"Oh, she's finally back," Ava reported to the second figure, who was also present with them, and on closer inspection, she turned rigid.

It was her father, Logan Emerson, the one tagged the most powerful witch the world of supernatural and humans has ever recorded.

"Dad!" Slyvia called out slowly, still unable to believe her dad was alive and present with them.

"Hi, baby. Long time." Logan passionately held Slyvia's cheeks.

Slyvia's eyes watered with the sweet words. She couldn't believe what she found out — her father was gay and had an explicit relationship with the past dragon lord, a vicious and malicious being who was obviously a villain in their story.

"Dad, are you gay?" The unexpected question rang out. Slyvia wasn't expecting herself to be so blunt, but she just couldn't take it anymore.

Ava's eyes widened at what Slyvia just spoke. That came out fast, and Logan didn't look surprised — more like he expected Slyvia to know by now. What a weird man.

Logan stood up, and Slyvia finally accessed where they were and realized they were in what looked like the woods behind Paradise High. Looking forward, she saw nothing but a high, burning flame, which seemed to consume anything good in its path, and immediate fear gripped her.

"If I said I am surprised you heard that, you might catch on that I am lying. So, dear, I am gay, and as you have noticed, I am not your father," Logan dropped the bomb.

Ava froze. Emily, who was approaching them, froze on her tracks. She was carrying several pieces of battle equipment which she found in Paradise attic. She was surprised that it was there, but Paradise itself kept throwing her surprises daily, so she wasn't that fazed.

Slyvia seemed to know, because there wasn't a flicker of shock in her eyes. It just made Ava confused. Does it mean Slyvia's night out at the grave made her aware of such a forbidden secret?

Gosh, but this wasn't the time. They were humanity's last hope, and by what they were able to find out, the last people standing far away from them in groups were the last humans they were able to save. The others were dead, and if by any means those demonic creatures got to them and these remaining ones, then humans would truly go extinct.

They had to do something, and Asher wasn't with them. She was worried sick about Asher and his two lovers. Were they okay? What if they were attacked on the way and brutally killed off? But to her surprise, the revelation wasn't just stopping — more was dropping.

"So, Slyvia, I can't sleep with women. I stayed with that woman you called Mom to be able to take care of you and pose as my wife, while in truth, she's not your mom. She's a witch from our coven who has extended her courtesy in taking care of you, Slyvia," Logan explained.

Slyvia was overwhelmed with emotions, which kept pushing through and attempting to break free. She couldn't believe the people she lived with all these years weren't her parents. And if that's so, where did she come from? Where are her parents, and where did Logan find her?

"So, Logan, I understand you took care of me without being my father and probably didn't want to hurt me by telling me this. But it's fine. I still love you and Mom, but I need your honest answer. Where did you find me, Dad? Who exactly is my real father, and how the hell am I becoming the next Witch Queen?" Slyvia demanded. She was tired of being in the dark for too long.

Logan looked at the girl he called daughter. She had truly grown up, and no matter what happened, he couldn't lie that he was too protective of her, afraid that she might be consumed by the evils of the world. But with what's happening, she deserved to know the truth, and unfortunately, his powers were waning.

With the rise of a silver-haired witch, it's hard for another one to stay on their feet. But it was fine. For 500 years, he had kept evil at bay, so it was time for another one to rise up — a powerful protector groomed by him only.

"So, Slyvia, as you can see, I'm immortal, a witch from 500 years ago, and I was here when Lamia was born, and how he got his god-like powers from Damian, his lover, and how he ended the reign of the gods because of Damian's mistake. There are lots of tales, especially what led to the rise of the dead witches, but I promise you that it will all be revealed," Logan stressed. Then he continued:

"You, too, girl, are immortal. You can't be killed, thanks to the spell your mom did before you were born. Your mom is the previous Child of Light, who ruled the supernatural realm and the Kingdom of Volantis, which was dominated by supernaturals. She had a lover with a human, so during the battle with the dead witches and the Dragon Lord — the great battle that lasted several years, which nearly destroyed humanity but instead shaped them, leading to the banishment of the dead witches in the Dark Trench and the destruction of the dragons."

Logan revealed this, and seeing the frozen and crestfallen looks of both Slyvia and her friends, he continued:

"Queen Athalia wanted her unborn baby to be safe, so she did a spell and transferred the baby to the body of that witch that I am living with and gave her the gift of immortality. So the girl was preserved in sleep, frozen in time and locked away in a coffin. But unfortunately, Queen Athalia died in the battle, killed by a dragon." Logan turned emotional; it seemed like he was so close to Athalia.

Slyvia, who was listening, couldn't talk anymore, and Logan concluded:

"Then I did the last thing required. I deafened the Dragon Lord with the spell Athalia told me about before she died, and after making sure the remaining five dragons are sealed with Zandros, I locked the prison with a stone popularly called the Phoenix Stone for its energy. But after the battle, I couldn't find the witch carrying you. I searched and searched, and after so many years, I saw the coffin frozen under a lake in another region, and that was the beginning of civilization. I never gave up on you, Slyvia, because I trusted in Athalia's judgment and plans. And if by any way Asher fails to bring balance to the world, you, Slyvia, are a hybrid of both witch and Child of Light, so you can end the war, baby. And now that I am done telling you this, it's time."

Logan concluded with an emotional face.

"I stayed long for you and made sure you're who you are now, Slyvia. You're powerful — much more powerful than me, the greatest witch. So use that power and make your mama proud. Bring back peace to the world and end this bloodshed. I am going to Golden Gate to stop the dead witches. You all should save the last hope of humanity left, and I myself will finally settle the beef I have with Lady Desdemona."

And before their faces, Logan disappeared, leaving them more astonished and stunned.
