"Who's that guy…?" I asked after I arrived next to Frisena, and my sister chuckled hearing my question.
"Seriously? I thought you're interested in Nathan. Don't tell me you got tired of him already."
"… What?" I turned my annoyed eyes to her, and Frisena learned that she had made a mistake joking around.
"Sorry, bad jokes. But, I heard his situation was a bit rough."
"Your hivemind underlings notified you…? Well, yes. Nathan has gotten… considerably thinner."
Hearing this, Frisena looked quite surprised. It seems like she wasn't expecting that.
"That's certainly worrying. It seems like the war has taken a massive toll on his mental health. We also need to keep in mind that he is only sixteen, which makes it even more amazing that he can still endure everything."
"Yeah… I don't know what else I needed to do with that guy."
"At the very least, just know that my people are currently keeping an eye on him. I consider him a formidable ally of mine, so we will help him out in any problems he may face." Frisena said firmly to me, and I smiled softly at her.
If Frisena is willing to do that much for Nathan, then I can rest assured. My sister is one of the greatest individuals in the world, both smart and powerful. I have nothing to worry about, then.
"Speaking of which, let me introduce you to Arlene, a member of my most elite squad." Frisena quickly steps aside to allow me to see the young woman behind her, and I open my eyes widely from how beautiful she is.
She has long white hair with a beautiful figure, a height slightly taller than me. Her eyes are pale white as well, but I don't think it was because she's blind. Everything about her, even her soldier attires, are colored white.
From her appearance alone, it's very easy to tell that she has a light origin. However, that alone isn't enough to tell me about her personality.
"Nice to meet you, Lily. My name is Arlene. I will be your teammate going forward." Arlene said as she lifted her hand for a handshake, but I only accepted the handshake with a little confusion.
"T-Teammate?"
"Ah, she doesn't know yet." Frisena quickly cuts me off, and I turn my confused glare to her.
"In fact, everyone on the team doesn't know yet. I think you should keep that fact to yourself first." Frisena continued, and Arlene nodded firmly after understanding.
"O-Oh! Right. I apologize, that was rash of me." Arlene oddly apologized, and I found her behavior to be somewhat unique.
Her way of talking seemed… old. It's like she's over sixty or something. She is still quite energetic for a sixty year old.
"I'll inform my brother about it as well. Once he's done… flexing his muscles." Arlene turned her pale white eyes to the guy sparring with multiple students at once, and my attention once again landed on the tall guy with the darkness origin fighting the students.
His moves were… flawless. He is the definition of a perfect close quarter combatant. He did not take a single risk with his moves, and yet still capable of throwing his opponents off balance. His utilization of the shadow movements were also perfect, moving them and placing them exactly where he wanted it to be.
It's like… watching Zero himself fight. His talent with the darkness origin is fearsome.
"You can't beat him. Don't even bother." Next to me, Frisena straightforwardly said, and I turned my surprised gaze to her.
I can't… beat him? Me? One of the five Guardians of Avenor?
"W-Who is…"
"We'll leave the introductions for later. In the meantime, how about I'll ask you to run an errand for me?" Frisena quickly said before I could even ask, and I turned annoyed that she wants me to do a task for her.
"What do you want…?"
"Just a simple thing~, I'm sure you'll love it. In the vice headmaster's room, there's a few papers that needed stamps. Can you go through them one by one and stamp ones that you find worthy?" Frisena asked very nicely to me, and I only folded my hands.
"You want me to do paperwork?"
"Come on, you have to help your sister here! I have somewhere else to go after this, so those papers are going to be a problem!"
"I want a high salary."
"Y-You--Fine. Go." Frisena shrugs her hair from annoyance, never would she have expected her sister to be so petty.
For sure, if I was my past self who only listens to her no matter what, I wouldn't have asked for anything and just do the work blindly. However, if the past few months has taught me anything, it is that I shouldn't be so easy with people.
I grinned widely at Frisena before walking away, and I caught a glimpse of Arlene keeping her eyes on me. For sure, that young lady is just as mysterious as the guy sparring with the students, and I'm concerned if Frisena was truly in control of them.
Whatever. I'm sure my cunning sister has exactly what she needs to deal with the likes of those two. I just have to deal with my own situation for now.
Arriving at the vice headmaster's office, I was reminded that the person who once owned this room is no longer alive. Her passing was very sudden, and I remembered that evening to be the worst night I have ever experienced.
Not only did everybody die so easily, but there was also nothing that I could've done. The headmaster and Zero were far too powerful for anyone to be able to do anything, and we were just sitting ducks.
I'm sure… Miss Hilda would've loved to see the ending to the battle that happened three months ago. She would've been so delighted to learn that Zero and the headmaster were defeated at the hands of her students.
My eyes studied the room, and it was left exactly as I remembered. Either the teachers or Frisena must've done everything in their power to keep the room just the way it was left, something to commemorate the fallen vice headmaster.
Then, my gaze landed on the table, where multiple stacks of paper were sighted. Frisena was right, there were a ton of papers there. However, there was also something else.
A letter was placed at the center of the desk, and I realized that it must've been an important letter. Something inside me wishes to take a glimpse, but it must be something that only Frisena can see, so I probably shouldn't have.
Of course… that would be what the past me thinks. I'm different now, so who gives a damn?
I lifted the letter and opened it, and it doesn't seem like the letter was sealed. In fact, the letter was already opened, and it seems like Frisena had already read it. I took the paper out from the letter, and right away, I saw a familiar handwriting.
I… have seen this writing before. Not a lot of times, but…
And what… the hell…
Is this…?
"Are you sure it's fine letting your sister see the letter?" At the arena, the voice of questioning came from Arlene, the white haired young lady who accompanied Frisena.
And hearing such a question, the young crown princess only chuckles. "She's my sister, Arlene. She's strong, and she deserves to know. If anything, she 'Should' know."
What my eyes are witnessing… is none other than complete and utter bullshit. What I am reading… is something I have never expected could ever be a reality.
The letter… is from the very owner of this room. The vice headmaster of the academy, Miss Hilda.
And the letter states, not just the fact that she is alive, but also the presence of another threat that will for sure endanger the lives of Avenor. A level that is similar to the headmaster and Zero.
The Harbinger of War. The War Demon, Omega.
It would seem like the prophecy I heard was true. In fact, it will become a reality for sure.
My gaze then turned to the papers that Frisena had prepared for me. For sure, they aren't the kind of papers that a normal academy teacher would work on.
Frisena. She has already started preparing.
I see… So, this is her way of telling me.
But, now that I already know, how can I tell everyone else?
To tell them… that another war, possibly even worse than the one we just had, is coming very… very soon?
