Chapter 186 - The Second Cured

Chapter 186 The Second Cured

Aleshia ignored Lucia's remark and said, "Yes, Lucia is awake now. I'll ask her if she can continue the spell on the others."

Mentally, Aleshia asked, 'Are you still up for it?'

Lucia nodded and requested Aleshia to walk to one of the bodies. After placing Lucia on top of the patient in front of them, they reenacted all the steps and procedures they had done previously without a hitch.

Daniel watched Aleshia and the witch hat closely as they worked on their magic. Although he lacked an advanced understanding of their methods—having only a basic familiarity from his limited adventures in search of a cure—he focused intently on the magical circle they were creating. Though he couldn't grasp every aspect of their handiwork, he carefully observed the formulas, hoping to learn even a tiny piece of this knowledge.

After about an hour of preparation, the circle was complete. Lucia then asked Aleshia to request that Daniel, still in the room, step back. "Daniel, it would be best for you to move farther away from us, just in case."

Daniel complied and took a few steps back, silently praying for their success. Once Aleshia received confirmation from Lucia that Daniel was at a safe distance, she activated the circle under Lucia's careful supervision. As before, the circle activated and emitted a faint green glow beneath the patient's skin. After they completed the task, Aleshia said, "It's safe to come back now."

As soon as she spoke, Daniel rushed in, although not with the same urgency he had shown for Rebel. When Daniel reached their side, he noticed how much healthier Jonah looked—his skin was remarkably vibrant, and the pain that once distorted his eyes had softened. While Jonah's expression remained stoic, it was evident that he was feeling much better than before.

Jonah blinked several times, trying to clear the dust that had settled in his eyes after recovering from the curse. He tried to bring his hand to his eyes to rub them, but just like Rebel, he couldn't move his arms. As he struggled to relieve the discomfort in his eyes, a hand gently removed the crust from them. When the hand lifted away, Jonah followed its movement and saw a grown man standing before him. At first, he didn't recognize who it was, but as he strained to remember, he finally matched the man's features to those of the boy he and the others had raised. Tears welled in his eyes at the sight of the boy who had grown up.
