Chapter 185 Awake
"I think that's a good idea," Aleshia said. She then suggested a possible location for Daniel. "If you're not sure where he is, the last place I saw him was with his cursed siblings. It's the door to the left in that hallway. You know it well, and there will likely be a group of children there, so you shouldn't miss it," she explained.
After telling Ren this, she seemed deep in thought. Aleshia decided to leave her to ponder and got up to walk around the house again. The short break helped Aleshia clear her mind and organize the new information. With a refreshed perspective, she sat in a dark corner of the room and waited for Lucia to awaken.
Waking up again, Aleshia realized she had fallen asleep once more. She wasn't sure how long it had been, but she could see Lucia was beside her. The upper part of Lucia's body seemed to be back to normal as if everything had returned to how it should be.
Aleshia felt like she had thought the same thing before. Nevertheless, she slowly got back up. This time, there wasn't a blanket covering her. However, a voice had returned to her head.
"I'm back!" Lucia declared. She animatedly flared her impressive brim, dancing it around as if performing. The brim fluttered busily, making Lucia appear larger.
When Lucia's performance ended, Aleshia asked, "Do you think you are up to curing another person?"
"You're no fun," Lucia said, disappointed that there wasn't as much reaction as she had hoped. "I guess I can do it now. I was awake about ten minutes ago and familiarized myself with the spell."
"I believe we can go right now," Aleshia said. After settling on that plan, she walked to the end of the hallway, searching for a group of children gathered by a door. Unfamiliar with the layout and struggling to adjust to the darkness, Aleshia navigated through almost the entire house. Eventually, she found a group of children clustered at the entrance to a room. There were fewer children than before and different from the last group she had encountered. The fact that the children were at the door led Aleshia to conclude that Daniel must be inside.
Aleshia approached the door and calmly stepped inside. Daniel glanced up at the newcomer and instantly recognized it was Aleshia.
"Is the hat awake?" Daniel asked, fatigue evident in his voice.
As Aleshia answered, she heard Lucia jokingly yell, "I'm not just a hat; I'm a magical witch hat!" but Daniel couldn't hear her.
