At this moment, Kakuzu was feeling a bit panicked!
If he hadn't gone all out and killed Konoha's advisor, Koharu, Konoha wouldn't have reacted so strongly.
Nor would Uchiha Kazuki have taken the opportunity of participating in the joint Jonin exams of the five great villages to dump all of the Akatsuki's intelligence out there.
Now it's a mess!
Not to mention Konoha, the other villages will continuously send people to infiltrate the Land of Rain to investigate the Akatsuki.
Even if Nagato can eliminate all the infiltrators one by one, it won't matter.
The major villages aren't fools. If the people they send out keep disappearing without a trace, they'll know something's wrong.
If one or two villages experienced this, it might be brushed off, but if it's happening to all of them, then it's a serious issue.
The Akatsuki's problem will be taken seriously by all five great villages!
And it's not just about coveting the Rinnegan.
"Leader, should the organization consider relocating our base?" Sasori offered a reasonable suggestion.
The legendary Sage's Eyes—the five great villages definitely won't let it go easily.
Even if their leader claims to be a god and possesses god-like power.
The Akatsuki isn't worried about small skirmishes.
But what if the five great villages decide to wage war over this?
The Akatsuki isn't ready to face the five great villages head-on.
If the five great villages resort to extreme measures against the Akatsuki, the members might be fine, but the Land of Rain and Amegakure would suffer.
The best solution is to relocate the base, leave Amegakure, and hide elsewhere.
As for Amegakure, let it suffer.
After all, Amegakure hasn't provided much help to the Akatsuki and can be abandoned at any time.
At least in the eyes of the other Akatsuki members, Amegakure is a disposable pawn.
Everyone's gaze fell on the Deva Path.
"The organization does not need to withdraw from Amegakure."
Facing the members' gazes, the Deva Path uttered a sentence that left everyone stunned.
Amegakure and the Land of Rain might be dispensable to the other members.
The Akatsuki would still be the Akatsuki even without Amegakure or the Land of Rain.
But Nagato and Konan are different.
This is their home, the place where the Akatsuki was founded, and where Yahiko's dream began.
Nagato won't abandon the Land of Rain and Amegakure to hide elsewhere.
Compared to Black Zetsu and Obito, his goals are clearer, without as much dark scheming and deceit.
Is he really that stubborn?
Nagato's attitude exceeded everyone's expectations.
Helpless, the others turned to Konan, hoping she could mediate.
Unfortunately, Konan's stance was the same as Nagato's.
"The Akatsuki will not withdraw from Amegakure."
"....."
"But we're not ready to face the five great villages in war."
"Why wait for the five great villages to declare war on us?"
The Deva Path's words shut Kakuzu down.
Black Zetsu, standing in the corner, was inwardly cursing.
This mission to seize Konoha's supplies had turned into a complete disaster.
The Akatsuki had been hiding precisely because they weren't ready to face the five great villages.
But now, first Orochimaru got captured and spilled the organization's secrets.
Then Koharu's death enraged Konoha, leading them to expose all of the Akatsuki's intel.
Now, the Akatsuki is completely exposed to the five great villages.
But Nagato and Konan refuse to leave Amegakure.
This will definitely impact his plans.
However, since Nagato and Konan won't budge, Black Zetsu can't force them to leave.
Even if Obito showed up using Madara's name, it wouldn't work—Nagato and Konan don't trust them.
"I will make them understand the power of a god!"
The Deva Path slowly rose from the stone throne.
The meeting ended, but Black Zetsu wasn't happy.
"Nagato seems to be losing control."
"If I were him, I'd also make the five great villages understand my power."
Obito sneered, not taking the matter seriously.
Nagato and Konan don't trust him or Black Zetsu.
Similarly, Obito doesn't trust anyone, including Black Zetsu.
Although Nagato's decision was unexpected and showed signs of slipping from their control, it didn't bother Obito much.
As long as the Rinnegan doesn't fall into the hands of the five great villages, it's fine.
Nagato?
He's just a pawn nurturing the Rinnegan, standing in the open, and can be discarded at any time.
As for Black Zetsu's concerns, what does that have to do with Obito?
After Obito's descent into darkness, his innocence vanished, replaced by a sharp and calculating Uchiha Obito.
From the moment he hid one of the Rinnegan after Nagato's death, it was clear he was wary of Madara and Black Zetsu.
Unfortunately, he underestimated Black Zetsu, and the hidden Rinnegan was eventually found.
What's most baffling is that Obito, who had fallen so far into darkness that he wanted to destroy the world, could still waver under Kakashi and Naruto's "talk no jutsu."
The four great villages, upon obtaining intel about the Rinnegan, immediately sent people to infiltrate Amegakure for investigation.
Unfortunately, their fates were the same as Shinnosuke's—Nagato was waiting for them.
In Kumogakure, the exams continued.
Starting from the second round, the exams were broadcast live.
In the exam arena, Kumogakure had installed numerous decorations and set up many display screens. The surveillance cameras would show each participant's live feed on a small screen for the audience to watch.
There weren't many participants—three from each village, totaling only fifteen people.
Kumogakure had the capability to broadcast this live.
If it were like the Chunin Exams, with hundreds of participants, even Kumogakure, with all its wealth, wouldn't dare to go to such lengths.
Led by the staff, Kazuki, Shisui, and Kakashi entered the second exam arena.
"It seems Kumogakure has gone all out for this exam."
The arena was a large valley.
Inside the valley were various terrains—forests, rocky areas, deserts, and even swamps. Building such a place must have cost a fortune.
With such a vast valley, it would be hard for the fifteen participants to run into each other unless they actively sought each other out.
The ninjas from the other villages arrived one after another, and soon all five great villages' participants were present.
Great, three out of the five great villages are hostile toward Konoha, and one is just watching.
The ninjas from Sunagakure, Kumogakure, and Iwagakure were all eyeing Kazuki and his team with ill intent.
The three from Kirigakure were relatively neutral, standing at a distance and watching the show.
"I think it would be a failure if too many people pass this exam. What do you think, Shisui?"
Kazuki casually remarked.
Shisui, standing beside him, was momentarily stunned, then lowered his head slightly,
"As you wish, Elder."
