The next day came quickly, and it was the last day before the kingdom greet.
In this occasion held every two years, different dignitaries from different kingdoms and areas come together to forge connections, discuss issues, relate, and make big decisions.
If a king of a kingdom cannot make it, they usually send a price or representative to go on their behalf.
There was tension between some kingdoms and also hatred or strife, some kingdoms planned to conquer others that were closer to their territory.
So this meeting was harmonious on the outside, but a lot of evil and malicious intent were being held behind the facade.
Everyone wanted to gauge the prowess of their opponent.
And very few came with the intent of forging relations through marriage or other means.
After the preparations the previous day, many dignitaries like princes, dukes, archdukes, governors, princes, princesses, queens and Kings started arriving at the palace of Varre.
The palace was very huge and formidable, with very high walls.
It was located on a small hill and could even be seen from the middle of the capital to show how marvelous it was.
The kingdom of Varre was known for it's formidable military might and it's thriving agriculture even amongst hills and valleys, it had a lots of forests. Making it special, leaving people to wonder how it was possible even with it's rogueness.
The kingdom of Varre had conquered many other kingdoms and expanded it's territory, it was the biggest and most feared kingdom in the south of the continent.
Others always wanted a connection or friendship instead of a war, because fighting was already a lost cause.
The current King of the kingdom of Varre King Magnus Vernon the third, had a lot of children from his different concubines, courtesans and his Queen.
He had fifteen children in total, each trying to outdo the other. But only one person can inherit the throne which was the Crown prince, Lenard Vernon.
He was the only son of the Queen of Varre, Queen Prisca Vernon.
The Queen had three children for the king, two girls and a boy and she doted on them and spoiled them.
One of the princesses was Kira who punished the maid the other day, she was known for being stern and ruthless and all the servants feared her, she always for what she wanted.
She was one of the most beautiful princesses with dark blonde hair and hazel eyes, she was thin and tall with a very nice figure to go with her arrogant demeanor.
The second princess was called Mira, she was more quiet and reserved but equally beautiful with bright blonde hair and light green eyes, she was shorter than Beatrice but no less formidable.
She was not unnecessarily wicked or ruthless but she was not nice or timid either.
She was what one would call normal to some extent, some even said she was the most beautiful princess and with a modest character.
The other children of king Magnus was from his three concubines and two palace courtesans.
One could imagine the chaos when they all came together.
But each liked to keep to themselves and plan in secret without trusting each other, there was hardly any love between them except for some that formed close bonds while growing up.
The youngest of them was only 7 years old, and the oldest was princess Jasmine, already married off to a kingdom in the east for connection and she would be coming to the kingdom greet with her husband to visit her mother.
All the dignitaries arrived one by one, servants on standby to attend to them and take them to their various inner palaces or resting places.
They exuded noble air and authority that made the servants shudder.
Each one came with a lot of knights and servants of their own, some even had secret mercenaries places somewhere in the kingdom incase of any emergency.
They exuded pride, representing the mighty of their kingdoms.
Some met each other at the entrance and exchanged a few greetings or words, some were acquainted, and some just put on fake smiles.
The air was filled with unspoken tension and competitiveness, the servants the ones bearing the weight of it all with lowered heads.
Meanwhile, in a building far away and very high, standing on the roof and peering down at the movements below as if he was looking at ants, exuding authority and power that could crush a thousand, was Ciaran.
His gilver eyes glistering with sun took in every interactions between the dignitaries, his face unreadable..
