Then again, Peter must have thought better of it before accepting Wolverine's offer, for two main reasons, the first being that he had to hang up the mask while working as a teacher for the mutants, easily someone could find out if Spider-man was seen outside of New York and near the Jean Grey school, where his old photographer was working.
And the second reason was because in either aspect of his life he only really knew a few of the mutants, specifically Logan, Bobby, Angelica, and Katherine being the only mutants Peter really knew well in both facets of his life.
While Laura, who is the daughter of Wolverine, Elizabeth Braddock, Hope Summers, Ororo and some others, he knew a little better than most as Spider-man, especially the first three, but it didn't take Laura and Braddock more than a day to realize that he was the spider vigilante for New York City and it took Hope a few weeks to realize it thanks to the way Cable raised her. But it wasn't the first time, Peter had always felt she knew him better than he thought or long before and Logan had thought the same from some of the reactions he had noticed Emma had had in some of the mutants' encounters with the spider, just like during the time the blonde telepath was possessed by the phoenix, she seemed to refuse to hurt Peter unlike everyone else she faced in that state.
And those suspicions only increased because Emma acted more open and kinder to him as the days went by, while Frost continued to treat the rest in the same way. For those who knew Spider-man's true identity, they wondered if the arachnid was going to be Emma's new toy or if there was something else they weren't aware of.
Although without Peter noticing, Betsy, Laura and Katherine slightly furrowed their faces, clenched their jaw or one of their hands from time to time because of this unlike Logan who did notice it and now watched his daughter/clone.
