The Nova Corps flagship.
It roared with barely-contained celestial power, a testament to interstellar precision and might. As it touched down outside the United Nations compound, the ground shook—not in fear, but in anticipation.
Already gathered were the world's eyes, the media, the leaders, and more importantly, the people. The United States had declared the meeting public, for transparency. Military vehicles lined the area, helijets hovered in the distance, and Avengers stood like silent statues on nearby rooftops.
The ramp of the ship hissed, and out came rows of soldiers in uniform—Nova elite. Not one out of line, not one faltered. Their boots hit Earth's soil with purpose.
And then emerged the two figures that held the galaxy's attention.
Richard Rider, the man who once left Earth a boy, returned as something more. His armor shimmered in deep cosmic blue, etched with the golden crest of Nova Prime. His gaze was calm, purposeful. This meeting was his idea, his advocacy. Earth's chance to not just be a world that survived chaos, but one that shaped the future.
Beside him walked Irani Rael, cloaked in the pristine white of the Nova Imperium. She had no powers, yet none dared disrespect her presence. She was a general, an envoy of empires—her voice could call fleets to arms. And here she was, standing in the capital of a single world, offering alliance.
The Earth's side met them with equal gravitas.
President Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, sharp, serious, eyes hidden behind her signature glasses. Every step she took was calculated, rehearsed, diplomatic.
Nick Fury, quiet and brooding, his coat fluttering slightly in the wind, his one eye scanning everything.
And then there was Aiden Blake, the reason none of this was happening behind closed doors.
He didn't wear armor. He didn't need to. The faint ripple of power radiating from his body said more than titles ever could. "Dragon God," the media had named him. "Savior." "Threat." "Tyrant." "Hero." They called him everything—but today, he was simply Earth's strongest.
The ceremonial greetings were short. Cameras flashed. Reporters whispered. Richard shook hands with the President. Aiden didn't smile. Rael bowed her head slightly, formal, diplomatic.
After a few short declarations and rehearsed phrases for the press, they made their way into the meeting dome.
As the reinforced doors sealed behind them, the noise of the outside world vanished like smoke in wind.
Rael looked around the Earth-built meeting hall, its interior lined with alien technology recently shared by Wakanda and repurposed by Reed Richards and Valeria. The lights hummed with vibranium resonance, and faint holograms projected Earth's defenses, and somewhere, a blinking red dot indicated Thanos' last known location.
Rael folded her hands behind her back and let out a half-chuckle. "Same everywhere. Nova Imperium meetings begin with flash and fanfare. Ends with yelling and drinking."
President Valentina let out a quiet laugh. "Politics doesn't change across stars, huh?"
Fury grunted. "Some things are universal constants. Bullshit's one of them."
"Okay. Enough pleasantries. Bla bla, politics. I need to know a few things," he said flatly, leaning forward with eyes like twin storms. "First of all—how big is Thanos' army?"
The room stiffened, the air shifting instantly from diplomatic tension to military focus.
Richard Rider stepped forward, arms crossed behind his back, voice sharp and clear. "Thanos commands one of the largest independent forces the galaxy has ever seen. It's not just a fleet—it's an empire. Mercenaries, fanatics, former warlords, extinct species revived through cloning and cybernetics. Each planet he's conquered, he's integrated its best technology into his arsenal."
He paused, eyes narrowing.
"He took the Power Stone from the Kree."
Silence.
Aiden raised an eyebrow. "The Kree?"
"They fought. But they were fractured. Thanos launched a direct assault and crushed them. Entire planets went dark in minutes. Their fleets were decimated. He walked through their defenses like wind through smoke," Richard said grimly. "We considered the Kree our equal in power. Not anymore."
The room was heavy with the implication.
Carol Danvers, arms folded across her chest, shifted uncomfortably. Her voice was calm, but there was guilt behind it.
"Technically… that's on me," she admitted. "Years ago, I helped Earth. I saved us from the Kree. And I might've caused their civil war in the process. With the Accusers fractured, their core systems destabilized, Thanos had an opening. I gave it to him."
She didn't apologize. But she didn't have to.
Irani Rael, standing tall in her formal ambassadorial robes, spoke next, her tone level but firm. "The cause doesn't change the result. Thanos is now more powerful than ever. His army is massive. Coordinated. Intelligent. And far more brutal than anything the Nova Corps has faced since the Annihilation Wave."
Aiden's eyes didn't blink. "I'm not worried about Thanos."
That made Rael raise an eyebrow. "Then what are you worried about?"
"If someone else is backing him," Aiden said simply. "Or if he's a distraction for something worse."
Rael's expression turned grave. "You're not the first to say that. The other one said the same thing."
Aiden tilted his head. "The other one?"
"Adam Warlock," she replied. "He suspected something too. That Thanos wasn't just building an army—he was preparing for something deeper. A universal shift. A god's war. Something beyond conquest. He spoke those words… right before Thanos nearly killed him."
Aiden chuckled softly. "Then he should've stayed quiet."
Rael frowned. "Don't underestimate him. Even as a god."
That's when Aiden's gaze hardened.
"I am no god," he said coldly. "I am human."
He rose from his chair, power radiating subtly through his limbs like caged thunder.
"And I am not Adam Warlock," he added. "He's a robot with a conscience. A creation still unsure of his place."
Aiden's presence pressed into the room like gravity.
"I know exactly who I am."
The hall fell quiet, humming with the weight of cosmic history in the making.
Before the conversation spiraled deeper into the military logistics of Thanos' growing army, a voice rang out—stern, measured, presidential.
"Let's leave the war talk for the war room," said Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, stepping forward with poise, her suit as crisp as her tone. "Today isn't about planning battles. Today is a day for unity—signing an alliance between Earth and Nova."
She turned to the Nova representatives, eyes narrowed with suspicion cloaked behind diplomacy. "Earth seeks support as a rising nation in the galactic sphere. That much is clear. But what is it you seek from us? Why now? Because Richard Rider is human?"
Irani Rael responded without hesitation, gesturing toward the center of the room. "It's obvious," she said simply, her tone laced with reverence and calculated interest. "It's because of him."
All eyes turned to Aiden Blake.
He lifted a brow. "Me?"
Richard nodded solemnly. "I pushed for this meeting. You might not realize it, but Earth... hasn't exactly had the best reputation in the cosmos. Until recently, it was seen as a backwater system full of unpredictable variables and cosmic anomalies."
Rael took a step forward, her heels echoing on the marble. "But then came you," she said, eyes locking onto Aiden. "Your... 'Dragon God.' You've altered perception. You're not feared because Earth has the Time Stone. You're feared because one of your own consumed Galactus—and spared him."
Aiden turned his head slightly, voice calm but cold. "Spared. Not for mercy. I spared him because the universe may still need him."
Richard nodded. "Regardless of the reason, the message was sent. The galaxy no longer sees Earth as weak. They see it as untouchable. Not because of armies or politics—but because of you. Rumors already call you Earth's true king, even if you've never claimed a throne."
"I'm not interested in thrones," Aiden replied evenly. "But I will protect what I like."
"And that," Richard said, "is exactly what the Nova Corps hopes for. We want Nova to become something to you. Like Earth. We want the Dragon God's favor."
"So you want my protection?" Aiden asked bluntly.
Rael stepped in. "Yes and no. Nova has held its own for generations. Our fleets are strong, our unity unmatched. But the universe is shifting. Celestials are on the move. Galactus is no longer dormant. The Stones have re-emerged after millennia. The stakes are cosmic."
Her voice grew solemn.
"We want your strength in those moments. We want to stand beside Earth not as superiors or subordinates, but as a sister world. An alliance, yes. But more than that... a covenant."
She paused.
"Our fleets, our intelligence, our technology—Nova-class planetary defenses. Evacuation protocols, cross-galactic reach. All of it made available to Earth in return for one thing…"
She looked Aiden in the eyes.
"You."
Aiden's gaze hardened.
"We want you to be the Anchor of this alliance. Not a sovereign. Not a general. But a God—a protector who stands as the shield of both our worlds. We want you to make a declaration. That Earth and Nova are under your protection. That we are… your people."
There was a moment of silence before Aiden scoffed. "Wanna make a religion out of me now?"
Carol crossed her arms and shot Rael a look. "So you were the source of those rumors."
Rael didn't flinch. "People need someone to believe in. Faith is power—soft, invisible power. It can move planets, unite systems, and inspire entire civilizations. That faith will empower Nova. Empower Earth. And yes... empower you, Aiden Blake."
Richard stepped beside her, voice unwavering.
"So what do you think, Dragon God?" he asked. "Do you wish to become what they already believe you are?"
Aiden closed his eyes. The image of the devoured Alpha. The screaming High Evolutionary. The countless Hydra heads he severed. Galactus' humbled body. The medals on his shelf. The blood on his hands. The prayers whispered by children he never met. The flags raised in his name across continents.
He opened his eyes.
"...Well," Aiden grinned, his teeth shining like polished ivory. "At this point, I can't help it."
He stepped forward, eyes burning with celestial fire.
"Dragon God doesn't sound half bad."
He extended a hand.
"I'm down. Let's do it. Nova and Earth, under my wing."
Then he looked up, a flicker of that burning resolve roaring to life in his chest.
"And most importantly…"
He turned to the galaxy above.
"Let's go defeat Thanos."
