Chapter 4126 - 4126

Chapter 4126: The Grand Drama Begins

Old Yin head noticed the change in Lin Moyu's expression. "Daoist Lin, what did you think of?"

Lin Moyu replied, "I originally thought that mutated wild beast was created by the combined efforts of the nine Beast Emperors, and that after creating it, the nine Beast Emperors must have perished. Recently, the Beast Emperors haven't appeared, which seemed to confirm my guess. But now I realize something's off.

"If the royal pool still contains a Beast Emperor's body, that means as long as the corresponding soul is available, a Beast Emperor can be revived. As for the soul, the nine Beast Emperors only need to preserve part of their own souls to revive after a period of time at most a hundred years."

Old Yin head listened to Lin Moyu's analysis and found it very reasonable. "So, in a hundred years, we might have to face not only that mutated wild beast but also nine Beast Emperors at the same time."

Lin Moyu said, "Very likely. If a few Beast Emperors hold off the Spirit Demon Clan, the rest could join the mutated wild beast to attack the Hengduan Mountains. Worse, I have an even more troubling theory."

Old Yin head muttered, "They might wipe out the Spirit Demon Clan first."

The Spirit Demon Clan would flee if they couldn't win, and Lin Moyu didn't correct him either way, it was about the same.

Lin Moyu sighed, "Let's hope it doesn't come to that." He looked into the void. If it really did, there was one way to break the deadlock: for him to step into Eternity. But Lin Moyu felt he hadn't yet reached the peak of the Dao Lord path; his Great Thousand World was still evolving, and his power was still growing. It would be better to reach the peak and then enter Eternity, rather than force open the Gate of Eternity now.

While pondering strategies, Lin Moyu's hands didn't stop he continued to modify formations. To prepare for the worst case scenario that could happen in a hundred years, he raised his requirements for the formations, making them even stronger. He proposed to overhaul the Hengduan Mountains' formation network, and Old Yin head was eager to agree. He wished Lin Moyu would redo every formation, so he could keep learning and benefit greatly.

Lin Moyu began the overhaul, dismantling and rebuilding formations as needed, without hesitation. The two of them worked tirelessly throughout the Hengduan Mountains.

Ten years passed in a flash. During that time, there were a few more beast tides, but none were large, and the mutated wild beast never reappeared. The longer this went on, the more unusual it seemed.

In those ten years, Lin Moyu's undead servants made significant progress exploring the Great Wilderness, and he had already sketched out a map of the region in his mind. The undead army was often intercepted and attacked, but Lin Moyu let them operate autonomously, with only one requirement: gather as much detailed information about the Great Wilderness as possible.

The undead split into groups some drew attention, others snuck deeper. After ten years, the outline of the Great Wilderness was clear. The entire region resembled a giant gourd: the base near the Hengduan Mountains was wide, the mouth near the Spirit Demon Clan was narrow. With the map complete, the location of the core was obvious.

The undead then advanced toward the center, still acting independently. They divided up tasks and made notable discoveries: filth pools, their distribution, wild beast numbers all this data was relayed back to Lin Moyu. There were 108 filth pools, with 99 king level pools found and four of the nine emperor level pools located. The closer to the center, the more beasts there were, and the harder it became to explore; progress in the last year had slowed greatly.

From the distribution of the filth pools, Lin Moyu noticed a pattern they weren't randomly placed, but arranged like a formation. The pools were just the surface; the real core was likely the filth river beneath them, which he'd need to see for himself.

Tun Yuan had been active in the Great Wilderness for a decade, and Lin Moyu had encountered him several times, each time stronger than before. But even now, Tun Yuan wasn't strong enough for the wild beasts to take him seriously.

Ten years later, Old Yin head suddenly said, "Something just entered the Great Wilderness from the filth river."

Not just Old Yin head other Eternals sensed it too. Lin Moyu knew it was the Soulless Beast entering. Its arrival meant all the wild beasts in the outer battlefield had been purified. Driven by instinct, it entered the Great Wilderness, and Lin Moyu sensed its power had grown again its purification speed would be even faster.

The chaos among the wild beasts was officially beginning.

Lin Moyu said, "Ignore it, let's keep going." He continued working on formations. Over ten years, about a third of the Hengduan Mountains' formations had been overhauled, with new ones added by Lin Moyu, making the defenses even stronger.

Meanwhile, the Lord of Power was helping An Yuyan contact the other Eternals, passing along her information. An Yuyan continued to divine the future. Her method differed from the Lord of Destiny's: the Lord of Destiny saw whatever the Destiny Dao revealed, but couldn't see changes until they happened. An Yuyan, using the Cause and Effect Dao, combined various conditions to predict outcomes results that were often inaccurate and only useful as reference. She had to repeat the process many times to find the most probable outcome.

Fifty years passed in a flash. The undead servants gained little more too many Dao Wild Beasts near the center made it impossible to break through. Unless Lin Moyu sent in a massive undead army to attack, progress would remain slow, but now was not the time. He also needed time, as his Great Thousand World continued to evolve and his strength approached the peak of the Dao Lord realm.

The Soulless Beast spent decades purifying Dao Wild Beasts in the Great Wilderness, completely cleansing three filth pools. Its presence drew the attention of the wild beasts, but they didn't take any special action each filth pool's beasts only cared for their own, ignoring others. This confirmed for Lin Moyu that there was currently no Beast Emperor among them. The mutated wild beast hadn't appeared in decades, either.

Tun Yuan was still fighting wild beasts, his strength restored to its peak and possibly soon to surpass it. He could now battle all the beasts in a king level filth pool, holding his own even against a thousand Beast Kings. Tun Yuan and the Soulless Beast were like two nails driven deep into the Great Wilderness, pushing ever deeper.

At last, the chaos in the Great Wilderness had begun in earnest. Lin Moyu felt the grand drama was about to unfold.
