Chapter 3941: Lord of Darkness
Lin Moyu didn't know what gave this Great Dao Lord the nerve to threaten him. When the Redstone Emperor was present, he hadn't even dared to show his face. Only after the Redstone Emperor had left did he dare to appear here. If he had directly negotiated with Lin Moyu in front of the Redstone Emperor, Lin Moyu might have respected him as a Great Dao Lord. But regardless, those worlds were destined to be destroyed there was no room for negotiation. Continuing as planned, Little Python followed the red line, while Lin Moyu digested the insights he'd gained from his discussion with the Redstone Emperor. Though the discussion was brief, the depth and volume of information required time to absorb.
Through this exchange, Lin Moyu understood the unique advantages of Emperors. Emperors were not cultivators who achieved the Dao through cultivation; they were born with it. From the moment they gained consciousness, they knew themselves and were destined to become Emperors. Why this was so, even they didn't know it could only be explained as a law of heaven and earth. They could naturally wield their innate origin void treasures without needing to refine them. With their own strength and the power of their innate treasures, they could even suppress eternal beings like the Human Sovereign within their own Great Spirit Domain. Those who achieved eternity were invincible in the real world, but not necessarily in the Soul Void. Of course, this only applied to Emperors within their own domains; if they left, their power would be greatly diminished.
Although Emperors didn't cultivate, their understanding of the Dao was deep, thanks to endless years of contemplation in the Soul Void. However, Lin Moyu noticed a flaw: the Redstone Emperor's understanding of the Dao was somewhat one sided, focused only on the "void" aspect, with little knowledge of the "real" aspect. Every Dao has both void and real facets; understanding only one is insufficient. This was where cultivators had an advantage, and Emperors a disadvantage.
As Lin Moyu digested the Redstone Emperor's Dao insights and combined them with his own, he felt his understanding of the Dao's essence deepen. The change was subtle, but over time would become significant.
He didn't envy the Emperors. Though born powerful, they were limited by that very fact and lacked infinite potential.
Little Python gradually slowed. The chaotic mist ahead parted, revealing a world, and beyond it, a towering figure stood in the void a Great Dao Lord, radiating terrifying pressure across the void.
Little Python, possessing an innate soul, trembled under the pressure, but as Lin Moyu's mount, it forced itself to stand firm, even putting on a fierce expression despite its fear.
Behind the Great Dao Lord stood several hundred Dao Lords, all with humanoid features but none truly human. These Dao Lords came from different worlds, each carefully selected for their compatibility with their world's Dao, allowing them to fight at full strength here.
A single Great Dao Lord with several hundred Dao Lords was enough to sweep through most worlds. Even the Origin Continent at its peak might not have been able to win against such a force. Just one Great Dao Lord could battle the Origin Continent's World Will, let alone the others.
Lin Moyu glanced over them. "Do you think this is enough to stop me?"
The Great Dao Lord snorted, "You may have countless puppets, but you're still just a Dao Lord. I advise you to retreat quietly. If you do, I'll let the past go. Otherwise, today will be your death."
Lin Moyu replied with a hint of contempt, "That's a bit cliché. You think a single sentence will make me retreat and give up? Who do you think you are?"
The Great Dao Lord's expression changed sharply. "I am a Great Dao Lord! And you're just a Dao Lord "
Before he could finish, Lin Moyu interrupted, "Which Dao are you Lord of?"
With some pride, the Great Dao Lord answered, "I am Lord of the Dark Dao."
The Dark Dao one of the Origin Great Daos, directly opposed to the Light Dao.
Lin Moyu nodded, "Got it. You can leave now. If you don't, you might become the first Great Dao Lord I kill. Originally, the first should have been the God of Light, but that one escaped too quickly."
So far, Lin Moyu hadn't found a good way to prevent a Great Dao Lord from escaping into the Origin Ancestral Land. This one would probably try the same when things got tough. Killing one was hard, and the process would likely cost the undead army dearly. In the Soul Void, with the Myriad Worlds far away, replenishing the undead army was difficult, so Lin Moyu preferred to conserve his forces.
The Lord of Darkness was thoroughly enraged, struggling to keep his composure. "How dare you disrespect me?"
Lin Moyu laughed lightly, "What's there to be afraid of? It's not like I haven't fought Great Dao Lords before. If those guys hadn't run, you'd be further down the list. When the Redstone Emperor was here, why didn't you show yourself? Are you afraid of him?"
"But I get it you're not at the Human Sovereign's level. Just a Great Dao Lord. If you die, you die. You're not eternal."
His words were full of mockery unpleasant to hear, but impossible to refute. The Lord of Darkness was so furious his soul twisted, but he still didn't attack he was clearly wary of Lin Moyu, and of the Redstone Emperor before.
Lin Moyu saw through him: though a Great Dao Lord, he was extremely cautious very fitting for his Dao.
Lin Moyu said calmly, "Since you won't make the first move, I will."
With a snap of his fingers, countless undead servants surged forth. Because a Great Dao Lord was present, Lin Moyu deployed a trillion undead at once.
The Lord of Darkness's face changed, as did those of the hundreds of Dao Lords behind him. They'd expected a lot of puppets, but never this many. Hundreds against a trillion they didn't stand a chance. The undead servants didn't care about their feelings; from thousands of miles away, they launched their attack.
Countless golden swords tore through the void, illuminating the heavens.
"Darkness Devour!" the Lord of Darkness roared, conjuring a massive black hole before him. The black hole generated a terrifying suction, swallowing many golden swords. But there were simply too many if even a tenth got through, it was still a terrifying number.
Each sword struck with the force of a Dao Lord's full power. The hundreds of Dao Lords behind the Lord of Darkness were instantly devastated. Despite all their defenses, they were like tofu before the overwhelming assault. After the first wave, fewer than one in ten survived over 90% were dead or gravely wounded.
The Lord of Darkness roared in fury, "Bastard! I'll kill you!"
