Chapter 749 - Chapter 749: Meeting with Grindelwald – what a big conman!

"Something's fishy."

Andy pinched the bridge of his nose, reviewing the information and intelligence he had gathered over the past few days.

"Hmm…"

Andy thought about two key aspects.

First, whether Dumbledore wished to reform the wizarding world.

Second, how Grindelwald would reform the wizarding world.

So the question arose!

Q: If Grindelwald reforms the wizarding world in a way Dumbledore can accept, will Dumbledore support Grindelwald's reforms?

The answer...seems obvious.

Andy believes he will!

As long as the outcome of the reform is beneficial to the future of the wizarding world and the method of reform is not so bloody and violent, there is no reason for Dumbledore not to support Grindelwald.

"Hiss—"

Andy let out a cold breath.

Are these two old men... performing a double act?

The more Andy thought about it, the more he felt that this was a very likely possibility.

If we reverse the process based on this result, the current situation suggests that Dumbledore has not yet made up his mind.

After all, Grindelwald's previous record is not very good.

His moral character cannot be trusted.

Dumbledore can hardly believe that Grindelwald could refrain from doing something outrageous.

"Tsk!"

Andy rolled his eyes.

For the time being, everything was just Andy's speculation. The real truth could only be ascertained after meeting Grindelwald.

***

Time passed by slowly.

It had to be said, the nanny Grindelwald had hired was quite good, and the dinner was delicious.

At a little after eight at night, there was a knock on the door downstairs.

Andy walked out of the bedroom and saw the nanny opening the door.

"Mr Grindelwald, we finally meet."

The person was indeed Grindelwald.

He was wearing a smart suit and holding a sceptre. Despite his white hair and wrinkles, he looked energetic and radiant.

He oozed charisma.

In comparison, Voldemort looked dreadful.

"I've been looking forward to this moment for a long time."

Grindelwald said, looking at Andy. "We've finally met, Mr Collins."

"You seem to be in good spirits," Andy replied, as he descended the stairs from the upper floor.

"Things are hectic, so it's important to keep up your spirits."

Grindelwald slowly walked over and said while taking a bottle of red wine from the wine cabinet.

He motioned towards Andy and asked, "Do you drink, boy?"

"I'm not old enough," Andy shrugged.

Grindelwald poured a glass of wine and handed it to Andy. "It's okay; when I was your age, I had already stolen and drunk many times."

"You are in the fourth year now…"

"In my fifth year, I was expelled from school. I was expelled because I tried dangerous dark magic experiments and almost killed a classmate in an accident."

After a pause, Grindelwald chuckled, then raised his glass and clinked it with Andy's, continuing, "In that regard, I am far worse than you."

Andy rotated the glass, carefully testing it with magic to make sure that there was nothing wrong with the wine or the glass, before taking a gentle sip.

"Can you tell me?"

Andy asked curiously. "What kind of magic was so dangerous?"

Grindelwald chuckled, speaking in a dismissive tone, "To the mediocre, all magic is dangerous."

Andy: "..."

He couldn't argue with that.

"The unknown... it frightens people."

Grindelwald continued, "Whether it's magic or anything else, people are always afraid of the unknown and will be deterred by it."

"An uncertain future?"

"No! They just don't have the wisdom to see the future."

"So... I need to be patient."

Having said this, Grindelwald looked at Andy with sparkling eyes.

"But you're different, Collins!"

"You can see it clearly!"

"How about helping me? Together we can change the wizarding world!"

"The wizarding world is rotten to the core. This is our last chance."

"Otherwise, the future of wizards will be in peril!"

Andy was silent at this.

Grindelwald continued, "Dumbledore told me that you are also dissatisfied with the current state of the wizarding world."

"Your classmates, they are studying hard to find a decent job."

"Yes! Just like Muggles."

"But it is not their fault."

"Because they have no choice."

"Without the appropriate talent, there is no future in the field of magic."

"And you, Collins, you can change all that!"

Grindelwald's voice became excited as he continued.

"Perhaps you don't understand yet..."

"But I assure you, Collins; when wizards can rise far above human limits, we can do so much more with magic."

"This can revolutionise the entire wizarding world!"

"We could even create a wizarding utopia where all wizards can live together."

"In this wizarding utopia, we can accomplish anything with magic."

"Collins, I'm old."

"And you... you're more talented than I am!"

"It's more like I'm helping you than you're helping me."

"This is my dream, and it's your future!"

Andy: "..."

What a good sales pitch!

But...

How is the future of wizards and magic... related to me?

"It seems you've already spoken with Professor Dumbledore."

Andy put down his glass and said lightly, "Professor Dumbledore probably also told you about...my wand."

"Pinewood, with a phoenix tail as the core."

"Pinewood represents loneliness and independence, and the phoenix tail means detachment from the world."

"I have to admit, wand choosing wizards do make sense."

"It suits my personality perfectly."

Grindelwald frowned slightly, "Collins, are you going to watch your fellow wizards be hunted to extinction by the Muggles?"

"Fellow wizards?"

Andy raised an eyebrow, lifted his glass and took a sip before saying lightly, "I'm sorry, I've never considered them my fellow wizards. I have always been a self-centred person."

"In this world, people first need to try to save themselves before expecting help."

"Do you think you're saving them?"

"But have you ever thought about whether those people... they need your help?"

"Do they? If they did, you wouldn't need to waste your breath on them. They would naturally gather around you."

"For most, their survival and needs are most important; they, including me, don't care enough about other things to try to change the current situation."

"To be honest... even if you achieve your dream and establish a wizard's utopia, they may not necessarily be grateful to you. Do you remember your previous attempt? Do you know the people's opinion of Professor Dumbledore just after one controversial news?"

Andy chuckled.

"Mr Grindelwald, my only dream now is to study magic and explore its limits."

"As for the rest..."

"If the future you speak of ever comes, on that day, if I have even the slightest capacity, I will not hesitate to take action!"

"With my magic!"

"A single thought will be enough to change the course of the world!"

"I, we… We are wizards, and wizards are those who can use magic. Magic is everything to us."

"Don't forget what's most important!"
