Her lip curled into a sneer.
"And let's not forget the best part," she said, voice rising slightly in pitch. "The way you told me my father ran away from the scene. That he abandoned you. As if that somehow makes you the victim. Utterly comical. Pathetic, even. Do you really expect me to believe that?"
She let out a bitter laugh, short and sharp.
"Oh, and that other part of you," she added with a mocking grin, her tone suddenly light, like she was remembering an inside joke. "What do you call it again? Right—Enash."
She laughed again, this time fully, shaking her head in disbelief. "You make it sound like you're possessed. Like there's another you hiding inside, and he's the one to blame for everything. It's almost impressive how far you'll go to avoid taking responsibility."
She paused, staring him down with a look of twisted amusement.
"You really are unbelievable, Shane."
