Third Person POV
Hogwarts.

"I am Kargalgan!!! And you may look powerful, but you cannot defeat me!!!"
The gigantic red Orc, seemingly a type of shaman or mage, spoke from his throne while Snape stood in front of an army of Orcs.
"Can you even tell that I am human?" Snape simply asked, contradicting the entire atmosphere as the Orcs around him raised their weapons.
"Hm?!" Even Kargalgan was taken aback by such a question—who would say something like that after they had all prepared to fight?
Snape couldn't help it. After all, he had finally found someone who spoke his language since he had encountered the ice elf. Every other monster until now had only roared and tried to kill him by any means necessary.
"No... you are not human." The five-meter-tall monster said.
"I see... Can you tell me what you are and why you are inside paintings at the school?" Snape asked.
"..." The Orc looked at him without saying anything at first. "We are..." but suddenly, he began to distort, as if he were rewinding.
"No... you are not human." The monster repeated his previous sentence, completely forgetting Snape's question.
"This again..." Snape murmured.
The first time this happened was when he faced Ice—the name he had given the chief ice elf when he and Rosaria encountered him in the painting of the icy landscape.
He had described Rosaria as human, even conditioning that if Snape left her there, he would not be attacked because he was not human. Rosaria hadn't understood a word of what Snape and the elf were talking about, but Snape had obviously refused and fought alongside the half-vampire, and they won in the end.
But in the middle of it all, when Snape started asking what the elf was and how he was there, the same thing happened as with this Orc shaman... They distorted when questioned and returned to the moment before they had heard Snape's question.
"What a pain..." Snape murmured at the end, looking at all the monsters surrounding him—at least 400 Orcs, four Orcs acting as royal guards, and the Orc shaman himself, who seemed to be a kind of king. This wouldn't be easy.
The shadow beneath Snape began to expand in the next moment as Kargalgan looked surprised at the sight of the shadows rising from the ground, starting to take shape.
"This..." Kargalgan murmured, watching more than 150 shadows emerge, some quite large, like the basilisk and the giant golem.
"Now we're getting closer..." Snape spoke calmly, deciding that the battle would begin now.
"You speak as if you're at an advantage. My numbers are nearly three times yours. Now, go! Kill this invader in my sanctuary!!" The Orc exclaimed as Snape activated an area encompassing all his shadows, forming a circle with himself at the center.
[Shadow Monarch's Domain Circle. You increase the stats of all your shadows by 50% while they remain inside the circle!]
"Tsk. Come." Snape scoffed as all his shadows prepared to fight. The Orcs from all sides quickly charged, attacking the shadows directly, while the shaman remained seated in his throne alongside his personal guards.
The shadow soldiers were immediately impacted by the Orcs' advance. War weapons, claws, and fangs clashed against each other, while Ouroboros, the stone golem, began crushing the Orcs with ease due to his massive size. Igris and Ace did the same, being among the fastest in Snape's army, swiftly reaping the lives of their enemies.
The battle quickly descended into chaos. The shadows began to dwindle; despite being stronger than the common soldiers, the Orcs' overwhelming numbers turned into a disadvantage, even with the stat boost.
Snape observed everything from the center of the chaos, commanding his group to stay within the circle, ensuring they retained the advantage from the status enhancement.
The Orcs, too, began to fall, while the destroyed shadows regenerated and returned to combat. However, Snape's mana was starting to run low. He had invested many points into intelligence since becoming the Shadow Monarch, but obviously, he couldn't sustain this forever.
Grabbing his goblin metal sword, Snape decided to act and advanced quickly, cutting down the first Orcs in his path. With extreme speed, he weaved through the crowd, eliminating enemies efficiently while his shadows fought by his side.
The battle raged on fiercely. The shaman watched his numbers dwindle, realizing that those who entered the circle couldn't withstand the shadows for long. What had been a disadvantage for them turned into an advantage, as the shadows returned to their original form after being destroyed.
Then Kargalgan acted. He struck his staff against the ground. In the next moment, a magical circle appeared above him, and an enormous dragon's mouth emerged, spewing flames that exploded amidst the shadows.
A large portion of them was destroyed by the attack, while Snape leaped backward, dodging the flames with his own agility.
"You may have the advantage of making your soldiers return after being destroyed, but can you keep that up forever?" the shaman said, preparing new flaming dragons all around to attack Snape's soldiers.
"So be it." Snape murmured as his entire front began to glow.
In the next instant, bursts of flames rushed toward him at absurd speed, exploding across the entire area.
The shaman smiled in satisfaction at seeing everything explode in the middle of his hall. But before he could react, he felt a presence beside him.
The space distorted, and suddenly, Snape appeared with his wand in one hand and his sword in the other, advancing directly toward the shaman's head with his blade to kill him.
The shaman's personal guards turned, surprised, trying to stop the attack, but it was already too late.
However, the shaman was quick to react. He managed to raise his hand at the last moment, taking the blow before it could reach his eye. Even so, his hand was pierced, and he screamed in pain as blood gushed from the wound.
The surrounding Orcs quickly reacted, and the royal guards rushed to attack Severus, but Snape vanished before they could hit him, reappearing in the area destroyed by the flames. As the shadows began to resurface once more, he prepared his next move.
Snape felt his mana already at half capacity and quickly pulled out a potion vial. He drank a new potion he had created himself, using the crystals he had obtained in the dungeons. These crystals and other resources contained a large amount of energy, allowing him to craft potions that did not exist in the wizarding world, restoring his strength and mana. His mana bar started rising once again.
"You bastard!" the shaman shouted, trying to stop the bleeding from his wounded hand, which was still profusely dripping blood.
"What's wrong? Did you really think this would be easy?" Snape taunted the creature as his shadows reformed beyond the destroyed area.
"Kill him!" the shaman exclaimed, still having 250 Orcs by his side, while he watched Snape's shadows return to their original form.
"Now I'm no longer at a disadvantage." Snape smirked.
In the next moment, he raised his hand and pointed upward.
"Arise."
All the fallen bodies—the ones that had been disintegrated by the flames and those whose parts were scattered across the battlefield—began to manifest once again. Snape used his Shadow Creation ability, expanding his army even further. At that instant, he summoned another 100 shadows from the fallen Orcs, strengthening his forces even more.
The shaman couldn't hide his surprise.
"We'll have to attack with everything we've got!" Kargalgan ordered, finally rising from his throne. Even with his bleeding hand, he struck his staff against the ground and began summoning strange symbols within an enormous magical circle.
In the next instant, his body began to grow.
Within seconds, he became a 20-meter giant, while his royal guards also prepared for battle.
Snape looked at the transformation, almost mockingly. Then, he raised his hand forward and commanded,
"Go, kill them!"
Immediately, all his shadows charged forward.
Now, it was 250 shadows against 250 high Orc enemies. But within Snape's domain, his soldiers had a significant increase in physical stats.
They rushed toward the enemy with incredible speed, turning the battlefield into a true massacre.
The battle continued fiercely, with both sides attacking nonstop. Flames began to spread across the battlefield as the giant shaman unleashed flaming barrages. Snape, Igris, and Ice dodged the attacks, advancing directly toward the royal guards and the shaman himself.
The guards tried to stop Snape and his shadows from advancing, but they were quickly cut down. Snape sliced one in half, moving forward without hesitation, while his soldiers held back the remaining guards. Those who attempted to block Snape were efficiently massacred by the two shadows that accompanied him.
The giant, seeing his army being destroyed, lifted his colossal leg and attempted to crush Snape. However, at the instant his foot came down, Snape vanished and reappeared in front of him using shadow teleportation, moving even faster.
With a precise motion, Snape drove his blade directly into the giant shaman's eye. The creature roared in pain as he completely lost his vision. The wizard used his teleportation once more, returning to the ground and watching the scene with satisfaction.
"You bastard..." the shaman muttered.
He tried to stomp on Snape, but at that very moment, the wizard raised his hand and used the Monarch's Touch. With his telekinesis, he halted the attack and hurled the giant backward, making him lose balance. The shaman crashed hard against the wall, causing a massive impact due to his immense size.
"Where are you?" he murmured, trying to locate Snape without his vision. However, without realizing it, the wizard was already on top of him.
"I'm right here."
That was all Snape said before the shaman began summoning several flame dragons, aiming them at himself.
"I will take you with me at least!" the shaman roared.
He knew he could not defeat this invader, so his only choice was to try to drag him into death as well.
"You do realize I have teleportation, don't you? I can leave here before I'm even hit." Snape taunted, making the shaman hesitate for a moment.
"But you're going to die anyway!" Snape said again.
In the next instant, Snape raised his wand and began generating thunder throughout the area. Electricity gathered above the shaman, who had no time to react. Before he could launch his final attack, Snape sent all the concentrated lightning bolts crashing down and disappeared at the last second.
An instant later, lightning struck and exploded the shaman's head. Pieces of his body were sent flying in all directions, while his massive corpse collapsed with a devastating crash.
Snape's mana was depleted due to restoring his shadows after the explosions caused by the shaman had destroyed parts of his army, but the battle was over. All of his soldiers remained, finishing off the last remaining Orcs.
"You have leveled up!"
"You have leveled up!"
"You have leveled up!"
"You have leveled up!"
"You have leveled up!"
"Now then. Your leader is gone." Snape murmured, looking at the countless bodies on the ground.
It was the perfect moment to expand his army even further. He was about to transform several fallen warriors into shadows, but his main target was the shaman himself. A being so powerful, with such impressive magical abilities, would be an excellent addition to his army, which currently had only three mages.
Snape smirked. This would be a great reinforcement.
