Chapter 152 - Preparations for the exploration.

There were three individuals. All of them wore slightly primitive clothing and wielded weapons made of bones or distinct minerals.

I observed them carefully, then retrieved my wand from my personal storage. I descended slowly, using my Wind Sound technique and Zetsu.

My eyes locked onto one of them, and I pointed my wand in his direction.

"Petrificus Totalus," I whispered in my mind. A green light spell was cast, paralyzing the enemy in front of me.

His body collapsed like a stone onto the ground. The person beside him noticed his fallen companion and stepped closer to check on him—but I cast another spell.

His body froze just like his friend's. The leader sensed something was off and turned his head, only to be greeted by a flash of green energy.

"Perfect," I said with satisfaction.

The good thing about HP-style spells is that they're generally quiet. Of course, if the target is sensitive to energy or has a certain level of strength or existence, they might be able to break free without much trouble.

However, these individuals were just ordinary members.

I touched the Omnitrix on my left arm and contacted the base.

"Send some guards to detain the individuals here."

"Understood."

I glanced at the prisoners, their bodies paralyzed by witchcraft, and calmly sat down on a tree nearby.

But then, my eyes caught movement in a specific direction.

I saw something resembling a saber-toothed tiger. It seemed to feel my gaze and immediately retreated at high speed.

My attention then shifted to another direction.

"Another group of four... but," I looked down at the ones by my feet.

There were noticeable differences in clothing and markings between the two groups.

"Maybe they're from different tribes or factions," I murmured.

Still, I didn't care. I moved out instantly.

Within moments, the second group was captured.

This time, their leader put up some resistance. But when my hand touched his side, a cursed sealing jutsu spread through his body, rendering him immobile.

"All done. Let's head back," I said while giving instructions to a few people in front of me.

A few hours passed after we captured the individuals.

SHIELD operatives interrogated them but didn't get much useful information.

Ward suggested torture or similar methods, but I vetoed the idea and decided to extract the information myself.

With a few spells and my telepathic powers, it wasn't hard to get what I needed.

"They're basically from two different groups. The three-member group comes from a tribe to the southeast. They seem to serve someone called Ka-Zar, who appears to be a very important figure in the Savage Land, possibly even a major leader of the region."

He seemed like the most influential person in the land.

But the second case caught my attention even more.

"The other is perceived as a divine figure in this realm. He's called Garokk. Apparently, he commands several tribes, has a body made of stone, and can generate rays of light and solar energy. He resides in the northern region."

"A god? That's ridiculous," Fitz was the first to scoff.

But Coulson shut that down.

"It's possible. Maybe not an omnipotent and omnipresent god as we understand it—but for common people, it's still a plausible title."

Simmons agreed.

"Maybe not here, but Fitz, think about it: from the perspective of people far removed from science, the power levels of Omega-level mutants—or even weaker ones—might not seem any different from that of gods. Just look at that criminal Magneto. He's said to be able to manipulate entire cities, control every piece of tech and magnetic object. That alone could be seen as a divine effect."

Her reasoning convinced him. He stayed quiet, seemingly processing the logic.

Then everyone looked at me, remembering the wall of ice I had conjured, my ability to fly, and the paralyzed bodies of our prisoners.

"What? Something on your mind?" I asked, sipping a pistachio milkshake.

Coulson wore a subtle smile. He knew that beyond mutants, even Norse gods like the Asgardians were real. And the being in front of him was strong enough to rival both powerful mutants and gods.

Understanding what he wanted me to say, I replied a few seconds later:

"I can't speak to his exact power without seeing him in person. But I assure you, I'll be able to contain him and his forces long enough for you all to escape safely."

Of course, speaking with absolute certainty is impossible. But with my swordsmanship, spells, seals, equipment, and divine fire, I believe I can at least delay him and cause some serious trouble.

I'm confident in my strength—but I never underestimate enemies.

They agreed, and the conversation shifted.

"From what I understand," Simmons said, "this realm we call the Savage Land appears to follow a more tribal anthropological structure—both in how they dress and fight, and in the intel we've gathered. I'd say the best strategy is to speak to that tribal leader, Ka-Zar. He'll probably be easier to negotiate with than someone who claims to be a god."

She fell silent, clearly waiting for her leader's direction.

Coulson nodded and asked me,

"What do you think? Do you need time?"

"Give me five hours. I'll set up some defenses around the base. Also, prepare a strong team."

He nodded and began organizing the team and reviewing base intel.

As for me, I moved throughout the base, placing various seals, enchantments, and even some new runes I had learned.

Then I hovered above everything. In my right hand was my wand. I waved it with swift, precise motions, while my left hand channeled both internal and magical energy.

Soon, powerful magical energy spread across multiple areas, shining brightly.

A golden and bluish barrier began to form, enveloping the entire base. Runes, enchantments, and seals glowed on its surface, merging in perfect synergy.

Moments later, the barrier turned invisible. Its function was defensive, designed to repel or restrict anyone with energy signatures different from those within the base.

Afterward, I recovered some of my energy.

Then I brought my hands together several times, summoning different constructs in various parts of the base.

"Ice Make..."

I created an ice eagle, ice tigers, and ice gorillas—draining all of my internal energy to craft powerful guardians.

I set them in standby mode to conserve energy. But if the base were attacked, they'd activate instantly and defend everyone.

In that dormant state, they can last for days. If active, they could fight for several hours—assuming they aren't destroyed.

I also synced them with the barrier's defenses.

Then I made final adjustments until everything was ready.

I reported to Coulson and explained everything in detail. He, in turn, instructed his team.

Of course, many had witnessed the formation of the unique barrier and the appearance of the ice beasts. Their curiosity was obvious—but they stayed quiet, not feeling comfortable enough to ask me directly.

Well, Skye, Fitz, and Simmons eventually did come over to ask questions.

May just gave me a strange look but said nothing.

Once everything was set, we prepared to depart.
