"Whatever." Kang Chen wanted to take a walk, clear his mind. He felt a heavy knot pressing on his chest, a pile of unresolved matters weighing down on him. He was anxious, eager to return and see Ming Mei, yet he often felt as though Ming Mei was right by his side, watching him from somewhere not far away.
The driver didn't dare say anything and started the car.
However, before they even left the camp gate, someone stopped them. Kang Chen glanced at the breathless, half-soaked Director of Operations and frowned.
The Director of Operations wiped the rain off his face. "Mr. Chen..."
Kang Chen lowered the car window. "What's wrong?"
"Mr. Chen... someone from UC is here."
Kang Chen replied impatiently, "Didn't I tell you to make any arrangements? Think of an excuse and send them away tomorrow."
The Director of Operations hesitated and said, "I want to, but... this time, it's impossible to simply brush it aside."
Kang Chen gave him a sharp glance. "Who's here?"
