After dinner, Blake, Luna, and Nagini returned to their tent. That night, Luna eagerly asked Blake to teach her various spells, and he readily agreed. Nagini, too, experimented with several new spells. It was late when they finally retired to their respective rooms for rest.
Early the next morning, Blake stretched as he stepped out of the tent. Nagini had already prepared breakfast, and Luna was feeding the three Thestrals chunks of meat.
"Luna, maybe we should change our way of traveling today," Blake suggested.
After checking the system, he knew that Luna and Nagini's treasure chest drop counters had reset, meaning they had another chance to gain valuable items. It was time for something different.
"Aren't we riding the Thestrals today?" Luna asked, puzzled.
Blake smiled. "Traveling from England to Sweden is over a thousand kilometers. If we keep flying on Thestrals, they'll be exhausted. They're living creatures, not machines. Even machines suffer from wear and tear. Yesterday, they flew hundreds of kilometers—like running a marathon. They need more than a night to recover."
Luna nodded in realization and handed more meat to the Thestrals. "I'm sorry, I didn't even consider that... You've worked hard."
Once the Thestrals had finished eating, the trio sat down for breakfast.
"If we're changing our travel method, what about the Thestrals?" Luna asked.
"They'll return home on their own," Blake reassured her. "They know the way."
Hearing this, Luna felt relieved. "Then, how are we traveling today?" Nagini asked curiously. She knew Blake wouldn't use a portal to teleport directly—he enjoyed the journey itself. She shared the sentiment. The scenery along the way was breathtaking.
Blake took a bite of chicken and grinned. "Would you prefer comfort or excitement?"
Luna and Nagini exchanged glances before speaking in unison: "Excitement!"
Blake chuckled. "Looks like we'd all be in Gryffindor, then."
"Let's finish breakfast first, and then I'll reveal our thrilling mode of travel," he added. Luna wasn't impatient but rather excited for what was to come.
"Why aren't you in a hurry?" Blake teased.
"I'll find out soon anyway. Why rush?" Luna replied cheerfully, forking a baked potato.
"As expected of you," Blake muttered. He casually reached behind him, where a small dimensional portal appeared. He flicked a Poké Ball-like object into it, then withdrew his hand as if nothing had happened, making the portal vanish.
After breakfast, Blake quickly packed up and dispelled all the protective enchantments around their campsite. Nagini stored everything in her enchanted backpack, slinging it over her shoulder. Luna watched Blake expectantly.
"I'll send the Thestrals back first," Blake said before approaching the creatures. He whispered to them, then pulled out three fist-sized pills and fed one to each Thestral.
Luna watched curiously. At first, the Thestrals seemed sluggish, but within moments, they regained their energy. "What did you feed them?" she asked.
"Nutritional pills," Blake explained. "Potions aren't great for them, so I turned them into solid form."
Luna nodded, once again impressed by his thoughtfulness. With everything settled, she and Nagini turned to Blake, eager for the next part of their adventure.
Blake raised a finger to his lips and let out a melodious whistle. In the distance, a deep, resonant roar echoed back.
Blake grinned. "We should step back and leave some space."
Although they didn't fully understand, Nagini and Luna took several steps backward as instructed.
A shadow appeared on the horizon, approaching fast. Luna gasped as she realized it was not a cloud—it was a massive black dragon with an eerie shape!
"A... a dragon?!" Luna exclaimed, instinctively reaching for Blake to run.
But when she saw the calm smile on his face, she immediately understood—Blake had summoned it.
[Ding! Extreme shock detected!] [Ding! Congratulations to the host for obtaining a golden treasure chest!] [Ding! Shock detected!] [Ding! Congratulations to the host for obtaining a silver treasure chest!]
With a thunderous "boom," the black dragon landed before them, lowering its massive head. Its yellow-brown eyes, each the size of a boulder, scrutinized them closely.
Now, Luna understood why Blake had asked them to clear space. This colossal creature needed a landing area.
Even knowing it wouldn't harm her, Luna still felt her legs weaken in the face of such a powerful predator.
Blake stepped forward and gently patted the dragon's head. "Good work, Dahei."
The dragon gave a slow nod before lowering itself to the ground.
Blake turned back and motioned for the others to join him. Nagini had seen this dragon before, but Luna was in awe. This wasn't just any dragon—it was far larger than a normal Hungarian Horntail. Captured and experimented on by poachers in a magical Colosseum, Dahei had grown to nearly three times the size of a regular dragon.
Blake climbed up first, using Dahei's bone spurs as footholds. Luna hesitated before cautiously touching the dragon's scales. They were hot and incredibly hard.
"Just climb up boldly," Blake encouraged. "Its bone spurs are tough."
Luna nodded, gaining confidence, and began climbing. Blake reached out, pulling her up. Once she was seated in front of him, Nagini climbed up effortlessly, securing a spot behind Blake.
Now, they were all seated between Dahei's massive bone spurs—Luna at the front, Blake in the middle, and Nagini at the back.
"Dahei! Take off!"
"Hoola!" The dragon leapt off the ground and plunged down the hillside. The sudden drop sent a wave of weightlessness through them.
Luna shrieked in excitement, clutching the nearest bone spur. A second later, Dahei's massive wings unfurled, catching the wind and lifting them into the sky.
"Oh!" Luna cheered, exhilarated as they soared through the clouds.
Dahei's flight speed was much faster than the Thestrals'. Blake had to cast several spells to shield them from the roaring wind.
Yet despite the high-speed flight, Blake couldn't help but feel utterly content. Behind him was a soft and warm presence, and in front of him was another.
He cleared his throat. "Dahei, fly steadily... There's no need to rush."
Dahei let out a low growl, as if snickering, and continued soaring across the sky.
Blake sighed blissfully. "You wouldn't understand my happiness right now, Dahei..."
The dragon exhaled a burst of fire in response.
