Their weapons stayed locked—sword against spear—as both tried to overpower the other. The clash of force vibrated through the air, yet Zed's eyes weren't fixed on her.
Instead, they darted to the sides.
He noticed them—around fifty crimson spheres, each pulsing as if they were alive.
Without hesitation, Zed closed eyes.
"Theoborn Special Art—Absolute Instinct."
And just like that—my vision changed.
We were still in the forest, still in the middle of battle, yet the small area around us had turned into a small dome of grey and white. Within it, time felt slower. Quieter. Sharper.
The blood spheres behind him released—thin, thread-like needles shooting out like a web of death.
They were coming straight for his back.
Even with his eyes closed, he felt them. And strangely, so did I. A cold, piercing sensation pricked against his skin—an unnatural contrast to the warmth of his body.
