Chapter 162: Childbirth And Reward
---Orochimaru Family POV---
"Orochimaru, why do you look sad?" asked his mother, Hebiko.
"Nothing," replied Orochimaru, surprised that his mother had noticed.
"Really, nothing?" Hebiko asked again.
"Actually, I don't understand why Setsuna-sensei won't teach me ninjutsu," said Orochimaru. "I love ninjutsu, and I heard he's the strongest ninja in Uzushiogakure."
Hearing this, his mother fell silent. She had noticed that Setsuna-sensei only taught her son about physics, biology, and chemistry. Whenever Orochimaru tried to ask about ninjutsu, Setsuna would simply change the subject.
So, she and her husband decided to ask Setsuna about it.
"Setsuna-sama, do you perhaps not want to teach my son ninjutsu?" asked Orochimaru's father, Hebimaru.
"Yes," Setsuna answered directly, without evasion. His response shocked both parents, who hadn't expected such a straightforward answer.
"May I ask why?" Hebimaru asked again.
"There are three reasons. First of all, don't you want the best for Orochimaru? Do you want to see him on the front lines or on missions that could potentially kill him?" Setsuna asked, pausing to look at them.
Orochimaru's parents were taken aback.
"Second, Orochimaru is excellent at research. By teaching him physics, chemistry, and biology, he might develop new machines that could greatly help us. So why bother learning ninjutsu if he could become wealthy and contribute to society with these subjects?" Setsuna continued.
This time, they felt guilty, realizing that Setsuna was only doing what was best for their son.
"Lastly, Uzushiogakure is the strongest village in the world, and I am the strongest ninja alive. We don't need children going to battlefields," Setsuna said. "Both of you have been hired by me to be researchers. If you become ninjas, Orochimaru could be left alone if you die on missions."
As he spoke, Setsuna hoped they could convince Orochimaru to give up becoming a shinobi. He didn't want to end up like Hiruzen, killed by Orochimaru.
"Thank you, Setsuna-sama, for giving us good jobs and protecting our family," Orochimaru's parents said gratefully.
Now, when Orochimaru asked why Setsuna-sensei avoided teaching him ninjutsu, Hebiko had the answer.
"Setsuna-sensei sees your potential in those subjects," Hebiko said with a smile.
"But I want to learn ninjutsu, and he's the best teacher who could teach me!" Orochimaru argued. "Mother, can you convince Setsuna-sensei to teach me ninjutsu?"
Hebiko was caught in a dilemma. On one hand, she didn't want Orochimaru to become a ninja either. Luckily, her husband returned at the right moment, and she passed the argument to him.
Hebimaru, as a man of simple reasoning, gave a straightforward answer.
"Setsuna-sama is a busy person. He doesn't have enough time to teach you ninjutsu," Orochimaru's father said.
"But he teaches me science!" Orochimaru countered.
"Well, if he teaches you ninjutsu, you won't be able to continue learning science," his father reasoned.
"Fine, then I'll stop learning science," said Orochimaru.
Hearing this, Hebimaru could only shake his head.
"I'll tell Setsuna-sama that you want to stop learning science," said Hebimaru.
"Please tell him I want to replace it with ninjutsu," Orochimaru replied.
"I can, but Setsuna-sama might stop teaching you altogether," said Hebimaru.
"Huh? Why?" Orochimaru was shocked.
Hebimaru knew that Setsuna didn't want to spend time teaching Orochimaru ninjutsu. The only reason Setsuna spent time teaching him science was because of Orochimaru's potential and his promise to provide better opportunities for him.
"Because he's busy. He only teaches you science to fulfill his promise to improve our lives," Hebimaru explained honestly.
---Rewards Time---
"Congratulations, host! You've earned three rewards this time," said the System.
"Redeem them now," replied Setsuna, not wanting to delay.

3rd reward: Sarutobi Hiruzen Crystal (Konoha Only)"
"What? Hiruzen's Crystal?" Setsuna said in disbelief.
"Yes, this item purpose is for spying on someone in Konoha," replied the System.
"Wait, is this really Hiruzen's item?" asked Setsuna again.
"Yes and no," replied the System.
"What do you mean by 'yes and no'?" Setsuna asked.
"Yes, the specifications of this crystal are copied based on Sarutobi Hiruzen's crystal, and no, this is just a copied version," replied the System.
"Your answer is confusing me. Why not just say, 'No, it's a copied version'?" retorted Setsuna. "So, it can only spy in Konoha, right?"
"Yes, host," replied the System.
Suddenly, Setsuna remembered a forum he had read in the past. To find out whether it was just a fan theory or reality, he decided to test it out.
"How do I use this thing?" asked Setsuna.
"If you have someone's chakra signature, like a strand of hair, just place it near the crystal, and it can track the person. Or you can channel chakra into the crystal and state the location you want to see," explained the System.
So, Setsuna channeled chakra into the crystal and said, "Women's bathhouse."
1... 2... 3...
Nothing happened. He decided to try again. "Bathhouse."
Again, nothing happened.
"Host, I've told you before, it's better to marry many women than to sneak a peek at them," said the System, shocked by Setsuna's behavior.
"What?" Setsuna became angry. "I didn't say the location just to peek at women. I just wanted to see if what the forum said in the past was true."
"Oh, but your method of finding out was wrong. You could've just asked me instead of trying it yourself," said the System. "What if you had seen an innocent woman's body? Would you take responsibility for that?"
Hearing this, Setsuna felt guilty. It was true—if the crystal had shown that at first trye, he would have indirectly violated someone's privacy.
"Thank you, System. I'm not the type to do something disgusting toward women," Setsuna said, feeling regret.
"Not every place in Konoha can be observed using that crystal. Uzumaki Mito put restrictions on certain locations, especially homes and bathhouses and don't worry because Sarutobi Hiruzen didn't use that crystal to spy on women," the System clarified.
"I see. Thank you, System, for reminding me of my mistake," replied Setsuna honestly. He then decided to test the crystal in other locations, like schools, hospitals, and more.
Most places could be seen using the crystal, but the insides of houses, particularly clan homes, couldn't be observed. The crystal could also captured the voices, making it a useful item for spying on enemies.
A/N: I will be skipping the detailed naming of the children because there will be more than 100, and each will have only a minor plotline, except for the older ones like Karina and Hizashi.
