Later, Nan Sichen couldn't quite remember how he had fallen asleep. When he woke up the next morning, Qin Yin was not on the bed. Panic swept over him, and he called out, "Yinyin."
Qin Yin popped out of the wardrobe, holding two sets of clothes. She asked, "Nan Sichen, which one do you think I should wear?"
Nan Sichen instantly relaxed. The corners of his lips curved as he said, "Wear the pale yellow one. I've rarely seen you wear yellow."
"Oh." Qin Yin grabbed the two sets of clothes and disappeared back into the wardrobe. When she came out after changing, she twirled around in front of Nan Sichen. "How do I look?"
"Beautiful." Nan Sichen reached out and pulled Qin Yin into his arms, kissing her fiercely. Qin Yin lightly pushed him away. "I've done my makeup—you've smudged all my lipstick."
"What's the occasion today, for you to doll yourself up?" Nan Sichen asked softly.
