Chapter 382 - Chapter 382: The King and I

As the boys flew across the skies, looking down in order to find the markings of the Omega Symbol, Stolas would be looking at the clouds instead, his mind pondering, his body somewhat tense. To think he was in that area, and more so as a ruler still. He thought the man was only spoken of in legends and tales of old. As his thoughts wandered alongside the fluffy, soft air above them, Solomon gave a small nudge on his shoulder. "Hey, you ok?" He'd ask.

Stolas would blink a bit as he looked back on his direction. "Hmm? Oh! Yeah, yeah. I'm... I'm fine."

"You sure? You don't sound fine."

The Avian can't help but take a deep breath as he'd collect his thoughts. "You remember what my dad said about those stories? In the whole War thing?"

"The one where he single-handedly beat up a kingdom? What about it?"

"It's just... It's so weird knowing I'm going back to the past in order to confront a problem we're dealing with in the future."

"Eh? What you mean by that?" Harvard asked, his head looking up to the two brothers, slightly throwing them off course by such curiosity.

"You remember what he said about how he was fighting to avenge his comrades in the war? Take a wild guess who owned that army."

"King??" Stunned for sure, but mostly due to such quizzical understanding as to how he would willingly choose to lead such an army to death, save for one, and hoped for the one to finish the Kingdom all by himself.

"Mhm. That's basically his equivalent of training people. He puts you into nightmarish wars and have you learn on the fly. He mainly fights the problems by himself, so his need for an army is...non-existent. If you're put in a war, that means he saw something, and he wants to capitalize on making sure it's strong." The boys were now more confused than ever. Stolas can see their curious looks as they try to figure out what made him willingly to toss aside his army in such a manner. "Yeaaah, it's really complicated."

"I'll say. How is putting your soldiers to a dead man's land acting as training??"

"He's... More of a 'hand's on' kind of teacher, if you get what I mean. King's tactics rely mainly in having them see the worst in the world, then pushing you back up to the top and ensuring you can see through the next. When that happens... well, You get my Dad!" As the boys talked about such a figure, Solomon was quick to whistle and signal everyone about an upcoming landmark: A Giant Omega symbol etched in the dirt, kingdoms across its lines. They were honestly somewhat surprised they were able to reached it so quickly, with Harvard wishing to dart his body down to one of the main kingdoms.

FWOOOOOSH!!!

A Massive flame that took the boys aback, a retreat as Harvard would try to switch monsters as they made their way to the land. A spell casted to swap them, his body began to morph as they fell, his massive wings now shortened to act as rings, one for each of his friends. His body took in the elements of the air and leaves from the massive trees, as well as small cusps of ash that floated around. His eyes and hair were gone, constantly replacing itself with the flora around.

Theia.

They wasted no time trying to investigate the source for the fire, seeing the forest begin to burn. As they traversed through the smoke-riddled foliage, Stolas and Zazel both noticed that such flames have faces on them, some grieving and being in one place, putting themselves out with their own tears, others wrathful, trying to spread the flames if it means burning down everything they could reach. The demon would notify the Biblical Sorcerer, letting him cast Red Sea Ark in order to flood the area in hopes of putting such arson out. As they got closer, they were able to see what caused it: Two monsters, one of which was a fox with nine tails, boring fangs and vicious claws that kept trying to scratch at the earth, summoning spirits through the holes and letting them flank on her orders. Another was of a humanoid beast, tar-like in appearance, with a open maw and fire for eyes. The two were at each other's throats, casting spells and lunging for attacks in order to kill each other, making Harvard watch such a brutal scene in awe at their strength. Stolas would be just as impressed, but it wouldn't deter him from trying to intervene, casting Aquarius to flood the area in stars and surround the two, binding them. Immediately as he did, however, the Tar-like Beast began to combust, screaming and writhing in pain, kicking up the dirt to put itself out. He could see a human face in the thick ooze, having him stop to see if it was willing to speak.

Alas, as it got back its bearings, it merely slipped the head back inside, and licked its teeth as it tried to attack the Avian, prompting the Fox to struggle and try to help him in such an hour of need. Harvard, however, was quick on getting in the way, allowing him to take the hit and create a planetary body around himself, absorbing the mass into his field, quickly storing it into a small space, where Harvard would cast a spell to seal the mass, letting his deck create a new monster based on what he's seen: Onyx. In such retaliation, the Monster would attack the Fox and drag her down with him, creating a second card for the boy, Tamamo, as the two returned to their dormant state. As the two boys look over, while the other two worked to extinguish the flames, they'd be amazed to see they were two people.

Both adults, obviously, but with such opposite appearances, it was looking at yin and yang. One in pitch black, gloves of white and with shiny teeth, as if he was a street dancer, another in a white kimono and with pink highlights in her hair, black fingernails and a birthmark in her hand, one that represents the fox she was previously. "We should get them to a doctor, huh?" Harvard asked.

"Is there even one here?" Stolas replied, trying to see if there was a village or kingdom nearby to assist them. Fortunately for them, there was: One on the second farthest end, a Victorian-like tower that loomed above the buildings.
