Some of these people were the soldiers, who were at the back of the line. This was the first time they were trying since the corral was opened up for potential bondings.
They were asked to give chances to the civilians first because they were already plenty strong on their own. It was mostly peer pressure though, and Garan didn't seem to care as long as they went to Alterrans.
Anyway, now that the morning batch of civilians had seen no success, they were finally trying out their luck!
So far, no one had gotten a battle pet other than Miss Althea, Captain, Gwen, and Ryan. In all those cases, the battle pets were so useful.
Fufi and Snow were awesome fighters and were physically stronger and faster than humans at their level. Ryan and Gwen's cats were very useful as well, and they were incredibly agile and flexible, able to distract enemies several levels above them.
Most importantly, they were all adorable floofs that healed the soul!
