Chapter 35 - Chapter 31: Ranran, Do You Really Like Me That Much?

Wen Ran couldn't figure out if he meant the flower couldn't be put back on, or that it couldn't be used again even if it was. In any case, the problem was huge now, and she shouted angrily, "Shen Wu!"

Shen Wu tilted his head slightly, "I'm here, Ranran."

So, why was she shouting so loudly?

"Do you even know what this flower represents to people?"

"What does it represent?"

"It's the stamen! You know, the thing only you men have!"

Shen Wu cleverly realized, "You're talking about leg hair."

"What leg hair? Women have those too!"

He was skeptical, "I don't believe you, unless you show me."

Wen Ran's rising anger suddenly halted, realizing he was steering the topic aside. Her temple twitched; at this point, he still wanted to tease her, "Be serious!"

Shen Wu obligingly put on a serious expression. He blinked and looked behind Wen Ran, speaking surprised words in an unsurprised tone, "Ranran, the tree turned into a human."

Wen Ran turned around, and when she saw the girl in white, her scalp tingled.

The girl had a frail posture, as if she could be blown away by a breeze at any moment. Her flower-like face showed an expression of tearful sorrow.

Her eyes were red, full of unspeakable grievance and sadness, truly pitiful, making anyone who saw her feel compassion.

Even though Wen Ran was a woman, her heart couldn't help but feel a pang for this pitiful girl. Inexplicably, she instinctively glanced at Shen Wu beside her.

Shen Wu's dumbfounded expression didn't change. His gaze was fixed on the girl in white, silent as before.

Wen Ran fully understood his stunned, speechless look. In fact, whenever she saw Bai Gongzi, she'd also be at a loss for words due to his exceptional charm.

Suddenly, a flash of sword light caught her eye.

Wen Ran looked in shock at the person drawing the sword.

The previously expressionless young man slowly curved his lips into a friendly smile, which strangely made him seem more alive.

There was a hint of surprise in his tone, "So it's a Tree Demon, I like it."

Wen Ran was startled. Isn't there something off about his liking? Who draws a sword when they see someone they like!

Little Bai, anxious and angry, said, "You villain, give me back my stamen!"

Over on the ground, Qiu Shui, who had been offline for a long time, started to move. She rubbed her forehead and slowly got up, looking muddled at the three people standing not far away, her mind filled with confusion.

Wen Ran nervously glanced at the sword in Shen Wu's hand, "Senior brother, just give back what you took from her."

Shen Wu turned his face, lips slightly pursed, asking discontentedly, "Ranran, do you think I can't beat her?"

"It's not that, it's just that it's someone else's item, and if they won't give it up, so be it." Wen Ran cautiously edged closer to Shen Wu, "If you like flowers, senior brother, I can pick prettier ones for you another day!"

Shen Wu seemed to be coaxed into happiness. He glanced at the little white flower in his hand and thought it wasn't particularly attractive in its plain color. So, he nodded, "Alright."

He casually threw the flower to the ground.

Little Bai hurried to pick it up and had just bent over when there was a "crack." A pair of embroidered shoes mercilessly trampled on it.

Little Bai's form froze.

The expression on Wen Ran's face was indescribably complex.

"What are you doing?" Qiu Shui asked, bewildered at the scene development, noticing the bent-over, immobile girl in white beside her. She belatedly lifted her foot.

She scraped off the flower stuck on the sole, observing the ragged, unrecognizable little white flower in her hand. She, somewhat embarrassed, said, "Um... you like this?"

Little Bai stiffly straightened up, reaching her trembling hand to touch the lump in Qiu Shui's hand, but she hesitated.

Seeing Little Bai's hand lingering mid-air, Qiu Shui, understandingly, grabbed Little Bai's hand, pressing the lump into it, "Don't worry, when I get back, I'll buy you a garden!"

Little Bai held the lump with both hands, staring at it for a long while before crying out in grief, "My stamen!!!"

Suddenly, the bright sky turned gray, and the trees in the entire forest moved without wind. Leaves rustled in the forest, and somehow the trees absorbed a large amount of Spiritual Power, all converging onto Little Bai.

Little Bai's hair grew visibly longer, like a black waterfall, spreading across the green grass.

Her white clothing fluttered like a butterfly, the terrifying aura she exuded forcing Qiu Shui, standing closest, to retreat several steps.

In Shen Wu's eyes, the excitement grew brighter, as the Spiritual Power-surging Tree Demon looked like it could take a beating.

Unable to contain the urge within his body, he raised his sword to charge forward. Unexpectedly, a girl jumped up and clung to him.

"Calm down, don't be impulsive, he's very strong, you'll get hurt!"

Shen Wu stopped, staring blankly at Wen Ran, who hung on him like a sloth with her limbs entwined. For a moment, his expression went vacant.

It was as if his brain short-circuited.

Qiu Shui covered her face and shouted, "In broad daylight, hugging a man is shameful!"

That's what she said, but Qiu Shui couldn't help but peep through her fingers at the situation, her heart pounding despite not being involved.

Due to Wen Ran's sudden action, Little Bai's surging Spiritual Power paused.

Wen Ran decided to be shameless this time. Others might not know, but she knew what kind of person Shen Wu was. Just from that one time in the Forbidden Land, she realized that once he went on a killing spree, no one could stop him.

She knew she absolutely lacked the courage to stand in front of Little Bai to block a sword once they started fighting. Furthermore, she lacked the charm to stop Shen Wu mid-swing once he went berserk.

In desperation, she could only take such measures. As long as Shen Wu and Little Bai didn't fight, all subsequent problems would be solved!

To prevent Shen Wu from tossing her off, Wen Ran tightened the hand around his neck and the legs wrapped around his waist.

If it were another evil demon, it wouldn't matter if Shen Wu killed it. But since Little Bai was not a wicked demon and had even saved her life, she couldn't sit by idly and let Little Bai be killed.

Shen Wu slowly lowered the sword in his hand. His pitch-black eyes rolled several times, and whatever he understood, he said in an odd tone, "Ranran, do you like me this much?"
