"Azallah Ray Kingsley!"
Azallah gasped when she heard Scarlett's voice shouting her name.
"W-what is it, sister? Lower your voice. I'm eating."
She glared at Ray, who was standing behind Scarlett. Her brother only shrugged his shoulders.
"You won't be able to swallow that anymore if I remove your neck. Speak."
Even when she's angry, she's still calm. That's why the Kingsley siblings are afraid of her. Her aura alone screams death.
"About what? You're scaring me…" Aza tried to use her charm but it was to no avail.
"Speak."
"Ugh. Fine! I told her you were screwing around with a random lady, that's why you left for A MONTH. I didn't think she would take it so seriously."
Aza might've acted with dignity, but in reality, she felt guilty. She saw how that servant changed. She was so shy back then, but now… her coldness is terrifying.
"I wanted to apologize for what I did, but it seems my excuses can't reach her anymore. She needs you, Scarlett."
She heard her sister sigh. She won't strangle me, right? Aza thought anxiously.
"I don't know what to say.." Scarlett sat down beside her.
Aza chose to stay silent to avoid provoking her sister's anger.
"I don't want to misinterpret the situation and assume anything…" Scarlett continued.
Ray and Aza exchanged glances.
"Do you feel something for her?" Aza couldn't help but ask.
Ray bit his lower lip. His sister really had a big mouth—she just couldn't keep things to herself.
Of course, they both already knew it. Aza just wanted to tease her sister, but to their surprise, she stayed silent for several seconds.
"I don't know…"
You don't know??? Aza nearly snapped. She couldn't believe her sister was trying to deny it now.
She had planned all of this after hearing from Ray that someone had caught her sister's eye. She didn't expect it to go this way. She just wanted to help her realize it.
Aza held back a long sigh. Maybe something was stopping Scarlett from admitting it.
It was the first time her sister had shown this many emotions in a single year. She might actually be serious about this gorgeous person. Please, that handsome aura of hers would be such a waste if she ended up with someone with an appalling face.
Aza doesn't care if she's from the Common City. Zuha is the only choice. I suppose it's time to start propagating that thought—quietly, of course.
"Figure yourself out first, or you'll regret not doing it sooner."
Scarlett had planned to cut Aza's neck, but after hearing what she said, she lost the will to do it.
Why am I acting like this again?
She closed her eyes. Memories of the first time she met Zuha came rushing back.
It was when they saved her from the Nilou family.
Scarlett was only there to assert her power, but she happened to stumble across a valuable item—and she hadn't realized it at the time.
When did it start?
She doesn't know. All she knows is that when she saw Tisha holding Zuha's face, something inside her snapped—and she couldn't explain it.
Her thoughts began to wander.
What if Zuha only sees her as someone she must serve? (Which is a lie.)
What if Zuha is disgusted once she finds out the Princess is having these thoughts? (Not true either.)
What if Zuha hates her for not doing anything for Common City and now has the audacity to feel this way? (Another lie—though Scarlett wouldn't know unless she does something.)
"I'm such a loser," she whispered to herself.
