Carly stood at the threshold, draped in a glittering white gown that clung to her body like a second skin. Her makeup was flawless, but her eyes were sharp… searching. Calculated. She didn't smile. Not really. Just that slight twitch of her lips that screamed performance.
All eyes turned to her as she walked down the aisle with slow, practiced grace. Her gaze briefly flicked to Ezra only to find him standing not alone, but with Scarlett beside him.
The sight made her stumble, barely noticeable, but enough for anyone truly watching. Ezra, however, didn't move. His arm remained wrapped around Scarlett's waist, a silent declaration of where he stood.
Harvard stepped forward to receive the bride, his expression cold but controlled. He didn't offer her his hand. Just a nod, and nothing more.
