A bone-chilling scream tore through the air, so loud and raw it made the ancient buildings below tremble and groan as if mourning in response.
"What was that scream?!" Zeche gasped, eyes darting toward the source.
"…It's Master," Penma whispered, her voice tight with anxiety. Her gaze was fixed ahead, unblinking.
They now floated above the rainbow domain—colors shimmered in every direction like oil on water, distorting the sky into a prism. A rainbow-like domain stretched around them.
Carol wasted no time. She conjured her own barrier within the group's protective shield, layering it with additional magic. Without hesitation, she stepped inside the sphere and say with the others.
But they weren't alone.
Archeons—snapped their heads toward the new intruders. With a shriek, they surged forward, sensing fresh life.
Panic surged through the group.
"Stop," Carol said calmly. She extended a single hand.
