Why was Maggie Spencer here?
Ave Carlisle slowly stood up, facing Maggie Spencer.
Since her return, upon seeing Maggie Spencer again, Ave Carlisle always felt that Maggie had changed. She no longer carried the air of a high-and-mighty heiress, but instead seemed inexplicably tinged with melancholy. Just like now, even though her makeup was exquisitely applied, it couldn't hide the sadness in her eyes.
"Let's talk," Maggie said.
"I'm with my daughter, it's inconvenient, let's schedule another time," Ave replied.
Maggie looked intently at the little Barbie doll who was still excitedly fishing and said, "It's not far, right here." As she spoke, she pointed to a tea house nearby.
Children played in the park while some parents accompanied them, and others sat at the tea house nearby, reading newspapers and drinking tea.
Unable to refuse further, Ave nodded, advised her little girl with a few words, and also pointed towards Maggie's direction.
