Christmas was approaching, and the war was still raging on.
Overall, the Wolf Family held an absolute advantage in terms of equipment, manpower, and scale. If not for the numerous trenches, Innsbruck would have fallen long ago.
Contrary to the overall decline, Innsbruck fought energetically in localized conflicts. A mercenary group known as "The Azure Longsword" had performed feats of wonder on the battlefield, reversing what would have been massive defeats in several encounters.
On the Wolf Family's side, rumors also spread about an active legendary enemy squad on the battlefield. Since the vast majority (and in some accounts, all) who had seen them were dead, the Wolf troops unanimously referred to this squad as:
Wolfhound (Wolfshund).
"What on earth is a Wolfhound?" asked a White Wolf Knight stationed in the trenches.
