Knowing the "full extent" of my powers made the group start to reevaluate how they would deal with HYDRA.
Fury started off the plan by asking me a specific question.
"So I know you didn't give us a list of your powers, and I certainly won't ask, but do your powers include a way to deal with the Helicarriers?" He asked.
I nodded at his reaction and began to speak.
"I can deal with all three of the Helicarrier's guns indefinitely as if they shoot me, it will do nothing to me, but as for actually doing something to the Helicarriers themselves, well I'd like to avoid any damage, whether collateral or property. I can hold off the Helicarriers, but if you have a plan to destroy them, it'd be prefered and I can deal with the wreckage." I explained as they were useless against Magneto and Jean's powers.
And once the carriers were destroyed, I can take all the metal and collect it together that way they can re-purpose the wrecked ships.
"We have to stop the launch." Nat said.
"I don't think the council is accepting my calls anymore." Fury joked as he turned a case around and opened it up to reveal three server blades.
"What's that?" Sam asked.
"Once the Helicarriers reach 3,000 feet, they'll triangulation with Insight satellites, becoming fully weaponized." Hill explained showing a simulation on her laptop.
"We need to breach those carriers and replace their targeting blades with our own." Fury added.
"Couldn't the superman here just fly into space and destroy the satellites?" Sam asked half-joking.
"Technically, yes. But there is no reason to destroy satellites that will still be useful after we stop HYDRA if we can stop those carriers from even launching. Besides, that would take time, and if it takes took long, HYDRA could've already have launched the carriers and I won't be there to stop them." I explained smiling at Sam's Superman joke as he doesn't even know that Superman is an actual hero from another universe.
"Fair enough." Sam replied with a grin.
Hill then continued.
"One or two won't cut it. We need to link all three carriers for this to work, because if even one of those ships remains operational, a whole lot of people are gonna die." Hill explained.
"We have to assume everyone aboard those carriers is HYDRA. We have to get past them, insert these server blades. And maybe, just maybe we can Salvage what's left..." Fury vegan to explain before being interrupted by Steve.
Now I could use Xavier's power to double check that to avoid innocent deaths, but it is reasonable to assume that and I don't want to expose that ability to them.
"We're not salvaging anything. We'renot just taking down the carriers, Nick. We'retaking down S.H.I.E.L.D." Steve said.
"S.H.I.E.L.D. had nothing to do with this." Fury replied.
"You gave me this mission. This is how it ends. S.H.I.E.L.D.'s been compromised. You said so yourself. HYDRA grew right under your nose and nobody noticed." Steve said clearly frustrated, which I attributed to the fact that he felt that all he did in the past was worthless as HYDRA was still around.
"Why do you think we're meeting in this cave? I noticed." Fury replied.
"How many paid the price before you did?" Steve asked causing Fury to frown and look down in shame.
"Look I didn't know about Barnes." Fury said.
"Even if you had, would you have told me? Or would ypu habe compartmentalized that too? S.H.I.E.L.D., HYDRA, it all goes" Steve replied sharply.
"He's right." Hill said shocking Fury as she rarely disagreed with Fury.
Fury then looked at Nat then Sam as if asking if they feel the same way. Nat nodded and Sam said.
"Don't look at me, I do what he does, just slower."
Fury then looked at me and I actually gave a response that no one expected.
"That's got to be the dumbest thing I've heard today." I said and Steve looked like I'd just punched a baby.
"How can you say that? You want to risk the world?" He asked.
"Calm down, let me explain." I replied firmly. To which he frowned but nodded.
"You all have no idea the dangers that are out there, you want to leave the world unprotected because you're feeling some type of way about HYDRA surviving?" I asked and Steve lunged at me to which I just grabbed him by the throat.
"You have no clue about what is out there, you think HYDRA is bad, I know about beings that make HYDRA look like a kid playing with dominoes. I'm not saying that we don't stop HYDRA I will stay here and not stop until every part of HYDRA is ripped apart and has no chance to rise again. But you need something to survive to combat the dangers outside our world.
Maybe it will be S.H.I.E.L.D., maybe it will be something else, but you need a deterent." I explained letting Steve go halfway through as he'd calmed down.
"Fine. You're not wrong about needing something, but it's too dangerous ton leave either organization intact." Steve said and I could see he wasn't willing to budge on that.
"Fair enough, I just don't want you to spread yourselves so thin that you can't deal with what might come. Rebuild upon the ashes of S.H.I.E.L.D. If being a shield that defends the earth won't work, then be a sword that fights against the enemy." I said hopefully giving the idea for the formation of S.W.O.R.D.
"You're right. I'm sorry I snapped at you." Steve said and I could see he was sincere.
"It's fine Steve, I may have been a bit out of line." I replied.
Fury seemed to be thinking and then turned to look at Steve.
"Well. It looks like you're giving the orders now Captain." He said finally.

(Few minutes later, outside the base on a bridge)
I stood outside with Steve and Sam walked up to us to talk to Steve.
"He's gonna be there you know." Sam said referring to Bucky.
"I know." Steve replied.
"Look, whoever he used to be and the guy he is now, I don't think he's the kind you save. He's the kind you stop." Sam said.
"Not to discredit you, as you make a good point, you're wrong. I don't know Barnes, but I know Steve, and he is an excellent judge of character. If he thinks he can be saved, I belive him. And I might be able to help with that." I replied.
Steve turned towards me.
"You can? How?" He asked.
"I know a guy, Fury can help give you the rundown about who it is I'm talking about, but I'm sure if I ask him, he should be able to help." I explained.
Steve walled over and gave me a bear hug.
"Thank you. He's the last connection that I have to my past and my best friend." Steve said emotionally.
"And besides, just curious we can save him doesn't mean we can't rough him up a bit, I still owe him for shooting me with that grenade." I said jokingly to which Sam and Steve chuckled.
Sam made a comment about Steve not having a suit and Steve explained that he had an idea which I knew was his uniform from WWII
We were all getting ready for the inevitable confrontation and the changes that are coming that we'll have to deal with soon.
