Chapter 2 - The Hound

Anubis and Fin walks down dark and ancient corridors, only lit by green flames every hundred feet. "I should warn you, before we meet this someone, he tends to bite." Fin stops and looks at him.

"You're joking right? You must be joking." He looks at Anubis rubbing the back of his head. "If I become a chew toy, I so am going to haunt you."

Anubis shakes his Jackal like head. "Fear not friend. I believe he will like you. You two have more in common than you know. Now come let me introduce you two."

Fin sighs softly and follows behind him. After what felt like hours, they finally reach a massive cave. "Anubis.... This brings back memories I never thought I would see ever again. Who exactly lives here?"

The god turns to Fin and whistles loud, causing Fin to cover his hears. "Whistling so close... Dammit I got sensitive ears over here!" The ground shook, causing him to stumble. The shaking increasing as thunderous stomps grew closer and closer. The shaking stopped and Fin able to balance himself. "What in Gods name was tha..." He stops mid sentence, a massive three headed dog stood in front of him. He looks at Anubis, then back at the massive beast. "Cerberus...?"

"So you have heard of him. Good because he's going to join you on your journey"

"I don't know if you can tell but uhm, have you seen his size? He's not exactly normal size." Cerberus stood there, all three heads looking down at the two as they talk about him.

"Cerberus, small." Anubis points to the ground but Cerberus refuses at first. He points again to hear a soft pout from the massive unit then he transforms, kicking up dust and rocks. Once clear, all that remained was a dark brown, red eyed Husky.

"I... Hmmm. I'm just not going to question what I just saw." He kneels down and pets Cerberus' head. "Wait if he's here then where..."

"I don't know. He was alone when I came here. Take care of him"

Fin nods and looks back at him. "Now what?" He asks, while rubbing the back of Cerberus's ear.

"I send you on your path to find Hermes."

"Right" He stands up and readies himself "I don't suppose you have any leads...?" Anubis shook his head. "Of course not. He's hiding. If what you and your father say are true, then he's probably hiding from them." He looks down to think for a moment trying to think of where a god in hiding would go. "I'll find him. I think I understand why you are sending us both. Send us out Anubis."

He turns and opens a portal for them.

"I know I probably don't want to know, but If I undo this mess..."

"Possibly... For now, don't think too much about it."

Fin nods and steps through, followed by Cerberus

Two Hundred Years Ago:

"Fenrir! Where are you!" The voice echoed through the mountains. "I was afraid of this..."

"What do you mean Brother?" The man walked over to him, hammer in hand. '

"Thor... Ragnarok is coming. We must warn father..."

"Loki... Where is Fenrir?" He clenched his hammer, anger beginning to rise deep within himself.

Loki shook his head and waited for their portal. "Someone either is controlling my son... Or otherwise convinced him to follow them."

Present Day:

After leaving the Underworld, Fin and Cerberus make their way through the desert. "Well bud. Where to start. We have ruins, ruins, and oh yeah more ruins..." He thinks for a moment as they walk and notices out of the corner of his eye, Cerberus sniffing the ground. "That's right, you actually might have his scent. Lead the way boy I'll follow." Cerberus barks and begins to run forward, Fin followed behind. Day turned to night, and night turned to day. They ran for days, only stopping to rest and eat. Days had passed when Cerberus finally found the town he was hiding in.

"Good job boy, leave it to me" Fin walks though the ruins of the town, building after building destroyed. The road and destroyed cars barely visible. Fin walks into the building Cerberus stopped. "No wonder you were able to find him. You get close and you can smell this man," he looks down at Cerberus as he looks back up at him "Dont look at me like that. I... I've just never met him so I didn't have his scent okay sheesh." Cerberus led the way as Fin followed, lights flickered in the halls off and on.

"Judging from that weapon... You're not with the Six, are you?" A voice echoed through the halls.

"No. I was told you may know how to undo this. It's my fault the world is like this and the Six rose from nothing."

A man steps out of the shadows, he had short hair and scruffy, a huge scar crossed his cheek and under his eye. "You wish to go back in time?" He looks at Fin sincerely. "I'm not entirely certain if it'll send your mind or body back."

"I'll take the risk... What about Cerberus?"

"Did you just say Cerberus? You know the Hound of Hell, Guardian of the Gates?"

"Yeah, you sort of get used to it."

Hermes shakes his head still trying to wrap his head around this. "It is possible. I shall see what I can do. For now lets go under ground. My things are down below."

Before they could step below a loud voice can be heard outside "The mighty Fenrir, has sought out the old Hades.. One of the last Greek Gods remaining..."

"They followed us here..." He debated on going out to fight them but shook off the thought. "One day I will get them for what they have done...

Hermes sighs softly. "Get downstairs to the lowest level. There you will find an item. You will know what it is when you see it."

"You're going out there aren't you..." The lonely god nods and begins to head outside. The moment he stepped outside he was greeted by the Six. "Do you guys just travel together?"

"It is to insure that we protect one another unlike you Old Gods. Traveling one by one or in small groups is what gets you killed. But having all our power together is what makes us unstoppable."

"Hmph. Not everyone of us works well alone..." but before he could say another word, he felt a large blade pierce his chest.

"You should never have left your room..."

"Maybe I should have..." He coughs up blood "But it was worth it...." The being pulls the blade out of his chest and begins to head for the building. "Its too late... He will undo your powers...." Hermes laughs just for another three blades to stab him in the chest and gut before falling back on to his back

Moments Earlier:

Fin and Cerberus both made it to the lower levels. Fin begins to look around the area to see what Hermes was talking about, but had no luck. He walked over to a desk and began to look through the drawers but nothing. As he stood up he noticed a glimmer out of the corner of his eye. Looking closer, he reaches forward and grabs it, feeling its cube shape in his hand.

"Of all shapes it had to be this. This is what catches my eye." The ground begins to shake once again. "That's not good... Cerberus, you ready to go for a ride?" He looks over at the hound, who was already standing ready." The cube began to glow as he knelt down beside Cerberus. Shining brighter, the cube hums and a button extends on the side.

"Come on boy, let's go back in time..." He says softly as he presses the button, causing a portal to slowly wrap around them.
