"How are you so sure that it is a dark type Pokemon?", asked Axel.
Absol stared at Axel's eyes and said with confidence.
"Because I know what a dark-type Pokemon is capable of. For the longest time, I could not tell what a dark-type Pokemon could do. Fire would burn, ice would freeze but what could a dark-type Pokemon do? What is their specialty?
After living in that cave for over a year, I have come to realize what a dark-type Pokemon could really do."
"And what is that?"
"A dark-type Pokemon could do anything."
"Anything? What do you mean by that?"
"Anything means anything. We can trap the souls of the dead. We can use illusions, and psychic powers. We can even become an elementalist if we want to be. We can also strengthen our physical powers to a new height. We can do anything."
"But there is a catch, right?", asked Axel because he knew that if such an unrealistic thing was possible, there must be a catch.
"Yes, there is a catch. We can do anything, but a sacrifice is needed. The sacrifice could be anything. It may come from us or it may come from others. But the quality and quantity of sacrifice would depend on what we want to achieve.
This great one has been creating tornadoes and cyclones to surround the island. It had also slaved all these Pokemons inside and outside. It had also created this cave from where we cannot pass through.
So, there is a very high probability that this great one is a dark-type Pokemon."
"So, the reason why the Pokemons inside the cave have 'Complete bind' and the Pokemon outside the cave have 'Dark bind' in their status is due to the sacrifice?"
"Yes, I don't know what kind of sacrifice this great one has made but to maintain the cyclones for such a long time and to slave all these Pokemons would require a tremendous amount of energy and sacrifice."
"Absol, can you tell me if the Pokemons that we have caught here would get free from these passive moves after we get them out of here?", asked Axel.
"I cannot say that for sure. I am still learning. But I have some good news for you."
"Oh really? Give it to me. I have been hearing bad news ever since I stepped on this island."
"Nidoking and I are very close to achieving what we planned. It might not even take 3 months for it to happen."
"That certainly is a good news."
If Nidoking could enhance its body through poison, then it would reach pseudo-champion rank. Having 3 champion rank Pokemons in this cave would certainly increase their chances of survival.
Axel was still intrigued about what Absol had said to him. For the longest time, he had been searching for how to train a dark-type Pokemon. Finally, Absol had got the answer.
He wondered if the sage mode of Hashirama with dark-type powers was possible. Venusaur had been training on his natural gathering of energy for sometime now. It had not been able to do it but it would be in the future. Axel was sure of that.
So, there was a chance that a Pokemon could train itself to gather infinity energy from the surroundings at a rapid pace to enhance itself.
Grass/dark type Pokemons like Meowscarada, Shiftry, and Cacturne came to his mind.
But nature power was also possible through fairy typing. Of course, the nature power from fairy typing and from grass typing might be different in many ways but the concept was very similar.
But all these things could be thought of later. Right now, Axel had to find out a way to get out of this place.
He knew that the great one was not something that he could mess with right now. But all of them were in its domain. So, he could not do anything right now. It had been a week since they were stuck inside the cave but there had been no attack from any Pokemons.
"Sir, we have made some sturdy cover for the tents from Golem's skin. But, right now, we are facing the problem of water. We need to find a water source at the earliest. The water-type Pokemon could not hold on for a long time.", said Mandira.
"Krishna, set up a team for our next journey. Only select those who have learned that soul art."
Axel had told the group to study an aura/soul art that would increase their mental resistance to any illusions and control. He was still afraid that the great one would take control of them.
Till now, some of them had reached a good proficiency in that technique and now he was ready to venture inside the cave again. Of course, Axel and Krishna had also accomplished such a feat.
"Absol, you will also be coming with me for this journey.", said Axel.
Axel realized that Absol might be quite valuable in this mission. It had upgraded the move 'Detect' to a very high level and now it would detect the aura of Pokemons from a far distance.
It was also well versed in dark type energy which might come in handy.
Unlike before, Axel would be bringing all of his Pokemons in this mission. He didn't know what lay ahead.
He did know that there was a water source inside the cave. If such a thing didn't exist, then the Pokemons living inside the cave that could not come out would just die from thirst.
But this water source must be heavily guarded as it would be very important for wild Pokemons.
###
Axel and his team slowly crossed the place where they had fought the Golems. There were numerous traps and they had to be extremely careful about all of it. So, it took a lot of time to move forward.
They reached an intersection where the cave showed 2 different ways to go.
"Sir, what do we do now? Which side should we take?", asked Mandira.
She had also come as she was one of the few who had successfully trained in that soul art.
"Gyarados, come out!!!", shouted Axel.
ROOOARR
"Gyarados, can you tell me where the water source is? Can you sense it?"
Axel believed that since it was a water-type Pokemon, it might be able to sense it. But he had been optimistic about it.
Gyarados shook its head and said, "I cannot sense any water source from either of these 2 ways. But I can tell that the water source is still very far."
Dividing the team was not an option because the place was filled with danger. So, Axel had to choose one side.
"Let's go with the right side first."
All of them nodded and moved. The cave was dimly lit by some shiny rocks and crystals. Still, Axel told fire-type Pokemons to use their fire to show the way. They must have been walking for a couple of hours when Absol said,
"Axel, I can sense a group of wild Pokemons ahead. We better be careful."
Meanwhile, Suresh and others were surprised that their Pokemons, specially trained for tracking could not detect it while Absol could do it faster than them.
"Let's get ready for battle."
As they got closer, the narrow cave became wider and wider.
"Sir, there is a pack of Onix and Steelix just ahead of us. Most of them are pseudo-king rank Pokemons but the leader is a tier 2 king rank Pokemon.", said Krishna.
"Get ready. We will attack with full power.", said Axel.
Venusaur came first and used the move 'Deep forest emergence'. Steelix might not be weak to grass-type moves but Onix was.
After using this move, it used the move 'Multi flowers' while Absol used the move 'Darkness imprisonment'. 'Darkness imprisonment' had an AOE effect and it was very powerful.
But this didn't mean that the enemy was not prepared. Some of them used the move 'Dig' to go underground but Nidoking used the move 'Earthquake' to counter it.
After using the move, it directly went to fight against Steelix, the leader of the group.
It was a sizable group of 13 Pokemons. 8 Onix and 5 Steelix. This time the group was prepared to fight and with the help of Venusaur and Absol, the fight became easier.
Still, seeing such a large Onix and Steelix, most of them were nervous.
The battle ended quickly. Axel told all of them to capture Onix and Steelix. But during the fight 3 of the Onix died. Axel looked at the status page of these Pokemons and they also had 'Complete bind' as their passive move.
He also noticed that not all of them had unique moves and abilities. Only the leader and another Onix had them. Most of them were pretty normal.
"Sir, if the Onix and Steelix are here, then there is a very high chance that we selected the wrong way.", said Krishna.
"Yes, you are right. Let's turn back and go the other way.", replied Axel.
Onix and Steelix would not settle in place near water sources. They hated water and they were weak to water too.
So, it was a calculated decision. They returned back and went to the left side.
It took around 6 hours and finally, Absol told them about the movement.
"Axel, I can feel a lot of Pokemons a head. I can also feel that there is a water source nearby. But the quantity and the rank of the Pokemons might be on the higher side. We need to be very careful."
"Suresh, tell your Pokemons to scout ahead. Absol, you can also help them.", said Axel.
After waiting for 30 minutes, they finally returned.
"So, what did you find?"
"There is a massive lake ahead. It looks like a water source for all of the Pokemons in the cave. I could spot at least 50 Pokemons out there. All of them are of different species. Golbat, Golem, Piloswine, Diglet, Steelix, Mawile, Slowking, Espeon and many more.
It looks like all of them come here for water. I don't think that we should attack that place.", reported Absol.
"Sir, what should we do?", asked Krishna.
"Oh, we are attacking that place. These Pokemons would not co-operate with us and we need the water. This might be the only water source inside the cave. If we don't get it, we will be dying of thirst.", said Axel.
Axel wanted to take that water source for himself but none of them were agreeing to him. They were very afraid of the upcoming battle.
Finally, Krishna replied after seeing the aghast faces of all the team members.
"Sir, I don't think that we should attack that place.", said Krishna.
"Krishna, you do know that we need water to live, right?"
"Sir, I know it but taking over that place is just impossible. Let's just suppose that we make a perfect plan and kill all those Pokemons and take over the lake. Considering that this is the only lake inside the cave, other Pokemons will also come here to drink it.
Then we will have to fight against all of these Pokemons which is simply not possible. Moreover, this might alert the great one and it might not end well for us."
Axel was truly frustrated with this cave. They had to make decisions to save themselves from this great one. But what Krishna had said also made sense. Occupying the only possible water source was not a very good idea.
"So, what do you propose, Krishna?"
"Sir, I have a plan."
