Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Parallax Unchained

Location: Planet Ysmault – Former Red Lantern Stronghold

The skies shattered above the blood-soaked field.

A wave of yellow-black flame tore across the clouds, and something colossal descended.

A skeletal beast made of twisted willpower, claws of burning fear, and the eyes of a god-killer — Parallax.

Elias stood at the center of the devastation, arms folded, blood dripping from his lips, Omega energy pulsing wild.

He watched as Parallax screamed into the cosmos, voice shaking moons out of orbit.

"E̥͡L̡̲͎͍̤͇I̷̙À̙̬S̥̻̤̟̟… S͈̘̱͖̰O͏U͖͉L̘͙̬͍̰S̛ ̥̘F̰O͓̼̩͎̖͚R̪͎̥̞͘ ̥̞̱͟T͇͍̰Ḫ̼̞͇͘ͅE̠̦͙̱ ̨̞͙̱̞ͅF͉̺͖E͠A̸͙R͓͚̼ ̪̲̮G̗O̥̦̤͙D̬̖̥͖̮͉̘͡…"

The Lanterns, hovering behind it, watched in silence.

This was their nuclear option.

Elias rolled his neck.

"Oh good," he sneered. "Another loud corpse that thinks it matters."

Parallax screamed again — and launched.

The Battle

Fear constructs exploded around Elias. Worlds formed, twisted into impossible shapes meant to overwhelm the mind. Parallax reached into Elias's past — showed him his dead family, his betrayal, his failures.

But Elias didn't flinch.

He laughed.

"You think fear works on a man who drank the Anti-Life?"

He raised both hands. Omega lightning erupted in a sphere.

The fear constructs shattered.

Parallax roared — lunged with claws of yellow madness.

Elias caught one.

Then crushed it.

BOOM.

The beast reeled.

[Omega Pulse Engaged – Overdrive State Achieved]

[New Skill Acquired: Willbreaker – Immunity to Emotional Entity Control]

[System Adaptation Complete: Fear Energy Absorbed]

Elias tore through the constructs. His fists moved faster than light, punches landing with the force of collapsing suns.

He ripped a wing off the beast.

"You were fear once. Now?"

He leapt onto Parallax's face and punched through its skull.

"You're a story I'm erasing."

Parallax shattered.

The Lanterns watching dropped their rings in horror. Fear had failed. Hope had died. Rage had fled.

Elias stood alone in the ashes.

He didn't speak.

He broadcasted.

[Universal Broadcast – Source: Elias]

"Your gods are bleeding. Your legends are dead. Your lanterns are shattered. There is no spectrum anymore — only me."

Hours Later – Earth, Watchtower

The teleport pad activated.

They expected another war.

They expected hell to walk through it.

Instead… Elias walked in, whistling.

Face bruised. Armor cracked. Smiling.

He looked around the Watchtower casually.

"Still smells like moral superiority and failed parenting in here."

No one moved.

Superman was there. Batman. Diana. Flash. Aquaman. Cyborg. Martian Manhunter.

A dozen eyes stared at him like a nuke that had arms and sarcasm.

Elias looked at Kal.

"You're welcome."

"For what?" Superman said, voice cold.

"I just saved your galaxy. Your Corps. Your precious order. I cleaned the mess they made and still had time for a scenic walk back to Earth."

Diana stepped forward. "You slaughtered Lanterns. Innocents."

"They pointed rings at me," Elias snapped. "I don't negotiate with hypocrites who wear green jewelry and call it justice."

Bruce broke the silence.

"…Why come back?"

Elias stepped closer, smiling dangerously.

"To remind you that I'm not your weapon. I'm not your enemy. I'm not your ally."

"I'm your wild card. I do what you can't. I go where you won't."

Cyborg scanned him. "You're leaking Parallax energy."

Elias raised an eyebrow. "Leaking?"

His eyes turned yellow for a moment, glowing with dark fire.

"I digested him."

No one spoke.

Then Elias walked past all of them — bold, calm, untouchable — and sat on the Watchtower's conference table.

Feet up. Arms crossed.

"I'll stay a while."

"Until?" Superman asked.

Elias grinned.

"Until something interesting happens… or one of you pisses me off."
