Chapter 5 - Reunion

Suddenly, a figure appeared carrying someone—it was the attack commander.

"HAHAHA! What's wrong now, bargain-bin mage?!" he shouted mockingly.

The mage recognized him by the brown hair, towering frame, ocean-clear eyes, and long locks. He now realized—it was the same man who had attacked him five years ago, back when he was just a rookie. But the commander no longer had flawless skin; something was trying to replace it.

The mage looked closely at the person being carried—it was a young blond boy, curly-haired, with a wound on his face and eyes shut. Those green eyes, once wide with fury, were now finally closed. That thought hit the mage hard.

He burst out laughing."HAHAHA! Hello, little robot! What happened to that fake skin of yours?"

The commander made a contemptuous grimace in his mind. Same old trash. He raised his hand, turning it into a sword, and replied:

"Things change, Light God. Though I remember—you didn't have that title back then. I'd like to fight someone with it now."

The mage of light laughed:"HAHA! I earned this title with blood and sweat. Even so, the Ten Chaos are still strong. Why don't you try fighting them—see if you keep that smug face, human."

Then, with a smug tone, he added:"Oh right... they also called you God of Chaos, didn't they?"

In response, the God of Chaos ripped off his false skin, revealing a robotic body, illuminated with glowing lines of energy.

The God of Light grinned, visibly excited by what was about to happen. Three runes appeared around him and launched blinding attacks of light, filling the area with smoke. He summoned a barrier to his left, just where the God of Chaos had planned to ambush him with speed.

The God of Chaos realized the mage had predicted his movement. He activated thrusters in his feet, flying at high speed. One foot transformed into a wall for downward impact, and the other turned into a shield with sharp spikes. Propulsion units shot from his back, launching him downward.

The mage pulled out a rune—but miscalculated the speed. He dodged, but lost half his body.

Light energy flowed from the Light God, regenerating his limbs rapidly. But as his muscles reformed, the God of Chaos struck with his sword, piercing the mage's heart and sending him flying into a mountain, completely shattering it.

Before this battle, the PGDUDC with the concept of the perfect race had seen the commander activating his combat mode. He had launched Jean into the air to save him, caught him, then grabbed Sol and Anderson with lightning-fast movements. The commander's glow was a signal: he had restrained them without them noticing.

The PGDUDC believed the commander would die—that's why he had come to save him.

As soon as he rescued the kids, he flew off, pressed a button, and a portal opened. It led to a hospital, where a PGDUDC with the concept of portals (a woman) was already waiting. He laid each person in recovery chambers.

When he placed the last body down, the portal-user asked with uncertainty:"Why are you still here? Don't you trust him?"

He replied with a hard voice:"No. I feel like he wants to die for something. My senses say so."

Back on the battlefield, after the mountain had collapsed, a massive crater appeared. From it, a voice roared with fury and thrill:

"HAHAHA! Now this I like! I'm not holding back anymore, you goddamn bastard! You'll learn who the hell I am!"

Then, from the crater, the mage released a beam of light that incinerated everything in its path.

The God of Chaos immediately backed off. In his thoughts, he knew this masochist was about to go all out.

A light dragon formed from the explosion. The chaos god, stunned by the attack, momentarily froze—and lost all four limbs.

Even so, the Light God—clearly fatigued but smiling with twisted pleasure—was enjoying every second.

Suddenly, from behind, the Chaos God stabbed him in the neck with a blade that exploded, destroying his upper body.

The severed parts returned, as if healing with stolen energy. The Light God was low on power from remote control and sustaining his fighting form, but he still moved carefully. Regeneration required focus and tons of energy, and he was almost out.

Still, surprise! Even with the dragon shrunk and energy nearly depleted, after attacking and maiming the Chaos God—

He struck again. Though the hit wasn't lethal, it bought time for the mage to regenerate his brain and bones. He realized that going all-in had nearly cost him everything.

The ring that had been restraining his incantations flew off, leaving him naked and without his artifact. Furious, he summoned a slot in his hand while his muscles regenerated.

The Chaos God saw this and activated full propulsion mode, using his last remaining arm, which turned into a giant sword.

The mage spoke in an unknown language, and right at that moment, both struck each other. The Chaos God was blasted away by a sphere of light, separated from his arm, but his sword remained embedded in the mage's body.

The mage was launched into the air.

His face twisted with disbelief. How could a faceless robot—just a blank helmet—withstand all that?

His shock boiled into rage. Getting up, he pulled out the sword embedded in him. Another slot appeared in his hand, and new words emerged. A beam of light exploded from it, destroying the Chaos God's sword.

Next, the mage summoned a massive slot in the sky—the size of a basketball court. In his mind, he thought:"It's now or never."

The Chaos God looked up, surprised. He had no energy left. He gave up.

He wanted to die. That was his way of living without fear—of ending the monotony of just one life. He felt he had already done everything, left behind a perfect legacy, though he had wanted to do more. He wanted to cause a chaos that would prevent the new recruits from ending up like him. He wanted to show them there was another way.

Because he had believed there wasn't, and had become someone he didn't want to be.

He hated the system. He hated everything. He wanted to kill, to be happy, but most of all, he wanted to leave a message for Joseph, Anderson, or Traset. He knew he was about to break everything he ever knew.

He hated his life—but he loved it too. He no longer knew what he felt. He had forged a destiny he wasn't even sure he wanted anymore.

Meanwhile, back at the hospital, after the PGDUDC with the perfect race concept had spoken, the portal PGDUDC added:

"Do you really think someone who's seen as the most stable, someone with a firm ideal that no one wants to endanger, would let themselves die at the hands of someone they've already beaten before?"

The man with the perfect race concept sat down, hands clasped, face buried in them. His posture showed obedience, but inside, he was overwhelmed. He felt like the commander wanted to die, and he didn't want to accept it—after everything he had done for him.

Seconds later, someone over a loudspeaker screamed that the battle was lost. The commander was about to fall. They begged the PGDUDC of the perfect race to go help him.

With anger, stress, and sadness in his voice, he shouted to the portal woman. She obeyed—and the portal opened.

He was furious with himself for not trusting his instincts sooner. He wouldn't be a fool without critical thinking. He had to save his master.

All of this flashed through his mind as he flew through the portal.

As he arrived, he saw it—a massive glowing slot had summoned a sphere launching beams of light directly at the commander. He watched helplessly from the air as a blast hit before he could reach him.

He screamed, voice cracking:"MASTEEEEER! NOOO! PLEASE, PLEASE!!"

Suddenly, giant cards appeared in front of the God of Chaos. Eight surrounded him, while one floated directly before him, glowing with black, blue, yellow, and now violet.

From this center card, a complete suit of armor emerged.

It spoke: "…"

Stunned, the God of Chaos asked,"So… he's the one now?"

The armor nodded. It told him it was time to give his answer. As he nodded, the armor merged with him, restoring all his energy.

With that, he disappeared—but one final card, with a spiked helmet, flew toward…

The PGDUDC of the perfect race was left speechless, unsure of what had just happened.

Meanwhile, the mage of light, stunned, whispered:"I'd heard rumors about a card… but eight? That wrapped around him?"

The man of the perfect race was devastated. His master was gone forever.

And for the first time… he activated a new function of his power.
