Chapter 2 - The Struggles Begin

As they continue in more conversations, their bond deepened. whispers ignited amongst their peers and family members. "A girl like her will never choose a boy like him," they sneered. Immaculate's parents had grand plans for her—a scholarship to a prestigious university abroad. They saw Tamaraumiebi as a distraction and a stumbling block, a temptation that would divert their daughter from her bright future. Though they faced disapproval from family and friends, Tamaraumiebi and Immaculate remained steadfast in their love and always ready to face any challenge that might come their way together, often meeting in secret at the old oak tree. They discussed about their dreams and promised to never allow friends and family to come in between them or the world's judgments to separate them. Conversations filled with laughter gradually turned into more serious discussions about their hopes and fears. Tamaraumiebi worked multiple hard jobs to support himself and his family, while Immaculate spent countless hours studying. Their time together became scarce, and soon the weight of expectations suffocated their dreams. Throughout the loneliness, however, the love that bound them together grew stronger and stronger—becoming a lifeline amidst the turbulent seas of oppositions despite the rejections from family and friends.
