Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Dark World - #1

Shun woke up once again, still in the prison cell. That same grotesque Goblin was there again—same furious expression.

This time, as the Goblin tried to attack me again, an arrow once more shattered its skull.

Footsteps echoed down the hallway... the same girl appeared... and those same cold, lifeless eyes locked onto me. She raised her bow and aimed another arrow straight at me.

-"W-Wait! I want to talk to you! Please just hear me out!" – Shun shouted, his face pale.

The woman slowly lowered her arrow, still cautious, her eyes tracking Shun's every move.

-"Want to say your last words before dying?" – she said calmly, her eyes as cold and terrifying as before.

-"Before I explain anything... can you remove these chains? I'll tell you everything, I swear. Please... help me this time. I'm not a zombie." – Shun was sweating, waiting in silence.

The room was filled with a tense silence that felt like it could shatter. She didn't look pleased, but still... she removed the chains from Shun.

-"Strange. First time I've seen a zombie that can speak... and show emotion. You should feel lucky I'm not that kind of person." – her voice was calm, with no hint of emotion on her face.

After freeing him, the woman handed Shun a small dagger. Without saying a word, she walked away, leaving behind the room smeared with blood and goblin flesh.

Shun took the dagger and slowly sat up. His legs were almost numb, like he'd been sitting there for hours, unable to move.

He was shocked—being transported to another world without any knowledge of it, and realizing he could die at any moment if he made a wrong move.

Shun began scavenging what he could from the dead Goblin. He picked up a spiked mace and two strange potions.

Continuing his way through the long, dark hallway, he entered each room he passed, gathering anything that might be useful.

At the end of the corridor, moonlight spilled through the final doorway, casting a silver path across the dark hall—like a last flicker of hope in this prison-like place.

Without hesitation, Shun stepped out and began climbing a long staircase. The moonlight lit the steps, making it feel like he was ascending through some kind of trial. Each step brought him higher, closer to the end.

When he finally set foot on solid ground, the first thing he saw was a decaying, ruined castle.

No sounds. Just a heavy, gloomy silence.

Shun wandered around, finding a few more odd potions.

Suddenly, in front of him—stood a strange knight.

The knight was towering—about 1.9 or even 2 meters tall. His body was clad in rusty iron armor, and he wielded a massive sword, nearly half his own height. But he had no head—just a body, acting purely on instinct.

-"What the hell is that now? A headless knight? What the hell kind of world is this—first a talking Goblin, now this? I'm too tired to even be surprised anymore."

Of course, since the knight had no head, he couldn't detect Shun. Quietly, Shun snuck past him, sighing in relief as he thought he was safe.

But just a few steps later, what came into view was...

dozens of headless knights patrolling the area.

-"Perfect! Now it's not just one freak, but a whole squad of them..."
