Chapter 2 - My Day As Summoner

5 years later...

On the simple house's page, in the green grass field, there stood a boy motionless, seemingly practicing channeling his Mana.

Nathan is now thriving in his childhood, growing into a good and genius child for his age. Of course, the knowledge and experiences from his previous life have carried over, allowing him to understand this new world with ease and quick responsiveness.

He also studies the language of this world, how the world works, what kind of creatures inhabit it, and everything truly is a fantasy world like the novels and comics that were popular in his previous life.

The one thing he learns every day is how to use Mana to control and manifest magic. Nathan realizes that in this world, magic can be categorized into three types within each individual.

The first type is the Elemental Sorcerer. A sorcerer who can control and manipulate elemental magic, which is flexible as it can be used both defensively and offensively by its user.

The second type is the Nature Sorcerer. A sorcerer who can manifest all forms of their power in any shape or form, this magic is also flexible—but it requires high skill and abundant Mana to control.

The last one is the Arcane Sorcerer. A sorcerer who is free to wield their power without being bound by traditional magic, this power can take the form of physical abilities or other non-magical strengths—but still requires Mana as the primary energy source and sometimes demands extra energy.

Nathan realized that he was born as an Arcane Sorcerer, or rather, he could be referred to as a Summoner. He then sketched out a mental image, thinking about what kind of creature he would summon for the first time after studying Mana within himself for so long.

He then thought of a slime as the first creature he would summon. Nathan closed his eyes, focusing to manifest the flow of Mana within himself to create the slime.

He remained focused, channeling his Mana and forming a blue blob in front of him. The slime was successfully summoned, its texture feeling very sticky and jelly-like, and then it started bouncing around in front of Nathan.

Nathan uses the magic he developed when he first learned magic, which is the stats magic. This magic allows Nathan to display the statistics and abilities of the creature he summons.

「 Slime ⌝

HP: [ 20 ]

⌞ Ability: None 」

Nathan let out a gentle sigh and patted his forehead. This creature is too weak and doesn't even have any abilities, with very low health points.

"You are too weak, you probably can't even kill a goblin with stats like that," he said to the blue blob that was bouncing around.

He then deactivated the slime, and it disappeared instantly. He channeled his Mana again, this time wanting to summon a golem—slowly, the flow of Mana from within him formed a stone, and a stone golem materialized before him.

The stone golem took shape, its size resembling that of a young man—but slightly smaller. Nathan thought that the stone golem looked more like a human statue without a face rather than a typical golem.

"I think it would be better if I add a fire element to you," he said to the stone golem.

Nathan recirculated his Mana, reconstructing the golem's body with fire elements, transforming its arms, body, and head into blazing magma rock.

He can give a custom ability to his summon. Nathan channeled his mana to the golem and granted it a skill called [ Blazing Fist ].

「 Magma Golem ⌝

HP: [ 50 ]

⌞ Ability: Blazing Fist 」

"Yeah, this isn't bad," he said with a thin smile.

Nathan concluded that his summon creatures are of the neutral magic type, allowing him to grant any type of magic he desires—such as elemental magic, even though he himself is not an elemental sorcerer.

He brought the golem to a forest not far from his home, secretly training without his mother's knowledge. Nathan then designated a small tree as the first training target for his magma golem.

Nathan pointed at the tree in front of him, and immediately ordered the magma golem to attack the small tree.

"Attack!" he said firmly, commanding the attack.

The magma golem quickly raised its blazing fist and unleashed the [ Blazing Fist ] ability towards the small tree. The small tree took significant damage and caught on fire, burning slightly.

Nathan felt fairly satisfied, at least this magma golem could take out a few goblins that he would soon face. Children aged 5 like Nathan wouldn't normally train their abilities too often, but since in his previous life Nathan was a genius young man—he can think things through maturely.

[New Ability : Resonance ]

He suddenly felt something within his body, and he sensed that his own mind was speaking to him—telling him that he had just acquired a passive ability called [ Resonance ].

"Resonance? What is this?" he wondered, speaking to himself curiously.

Nathan circulated mana to his palm, clenched his fist, and suddenly was shocked as flames erupted from his hand without him feeling any pain.

He concluded that he could use the magma golem's ability, [ Blazing Fist ]. He now understood that the [ Resonance ] ability allowed him to share his strength with the creatures he summoned.

He punched the small tree again with the [ Blazing Fist ] he had learned. The tree collapsed and fell, Nathan's expression was extremely satisfied and enthusiastic, as if he felt incredibly lucky to be an Arcane Sorcerer.

Nathan felt his mana depleted, realizing that using the same ability as the creature he summoned would drain his energy. Despite the exhaustion, Nathan felt proud and amazed by his own abilities.

"Damn, this is too cool!" he exclaimed with a face full of enthusiasm.

Tens of minutes later, he finished training with the magma golem in the forest. He also practiced circulating his mana again to summon even stronger creatures, then he deactivated his magma golem and disappeared.

When he arrived home, Nathan opened the door and headed to the kitchen. Nathan's mother was preparing lunch and told Nathan to eat while it was still hot.

"Mom already told you not to play too far away, Nathan... Come sit at the dinning table," Nathan's mother said with concern, but eventually, she smiled slightly at him.

"Yes, Mom, I was just playing around the yard," Nathan replied with a slight smile on his face.

Nathan sat down at the dining table, his mother had already prepared meals for both of them—and before long, she sat down together with Nathan at the dining table.

"Let's pray first, dear," Nathan's mother said while folding her hands, bowing her head, and closing her eyes.

Nathan nodded, folded his hands, bowed his head, and closed his eyes, following his mother's lead to pray.

"Bless us, O Lord, and these Thy gifts, which we are about to receive from Thy bounty, through Christ our Lord. Amen."

Nathan's mother spoke after leading the meal prayer.

As far as Nathan knows, the people on Earth still follow the major religions from his past life—such as Catholicism, which he currently practices.

Both of them started eating lunch with the food provided on the table. Nathan ate his mother's food with relish but still politely, finishing his portion simultaneously with his mother.

"Thank you for the meal, Mom... Your food is always delicious as usual," he said, praising his mother with a smile on his face.

"Thank you too, Nathan. Mom glad you enjoyed it," his mother replied with a gentle smile.

Nathan then went to his room, it was still daytime and perhaps approaching evening. In his room, Nathan read books of monster illustrations that his mother had bought from a Dasmond Kingdom quite far from their home.

He browsed through the illustrations of monsters from this fantasy world, searching for a suitable and powerful creature to summon and develop from the book.

As Nathan flipped through the pages, he finally stopped and was captivated by a monster that caught his interest. The monster's name was Satan, depicted as a demon-like creature with black horns and wings, red skin and tail, and a face that looked terrifying and—frightening.

Nathan was intrigued by Satan and thought about training his mana circulation to summon this demon, potentially becoming stronger.

Nathan's goal was to join the military academy in Dasmond Kingdom when he turned 10, aiming to become stronger and explore this extraordinary fantasy world, while unraveling the mysteries of Abyss Paradise.

Abyss Paradise was said to be a lair and dwelling place for terrifying demons and monsters, rumored to be the residence of the Demon King who sought to dominate the world. Many adventurers flocked to defeat the Demon King, seeking the title of hero, but none seemed to have succeeded...

Nathan sat cross-legged on his bed, clearing his mind and focusing on circulating his mana. He trained his mana every day, hoping to one day summon a powerful creature and ally.

He felt his mana flow dispersing and reunifying, circulating through every part of his body. As it reconstructed perfectly—Nathan could sense the presence and movements of individuals around him.
