Granny Chen's heart shattered at Yuna's innocent question. She sat down on the bed beside the little girl, taking her small hand in her own.
"Oh, Yuna," she said softly.
"You are not an idiot. Those children are just jealous of your beauty and kindness."
She gently wiped away a tear that had escaped Yuna's eye.
"They call you names because they don't understand how special you are. But I see it, and so do those who truly care about you."
Granny Chen smiled warmly at Yuna, her eyes filled with love and compassion.
"You are a precious gem, my dear. Don't let anyone make you feel less than that."
She hugged Yuna tightly, rocking her gently as she cried.
"It's okay to feel sad," Granny Chen whispered.
"But remember, you have a strength inside you that no one can take away. And I believe in you."
"Granny Chen can you um bring me monks scrolls, medicine scrolls, and Taoist scrolls?" Yuna asked gently she never asks for anything but she must study hard even if she is an idiot.
Granny Chen smiled softly at Yuna's request, her heart swelling with pride. Despite the cruel words of the other children, Yuna remained determined to learn and improve herself.
"Of course, my dear," Granny Chen replied gently.
"I'll bring you all the scrolls you need. It's important to never stop learning and growing."
She stood up and walked over to the bookshelf, carefully selecting several scrolls for Yuna.
"And I'll also prepare some special herbal tea to help soothe your mind and body," she added.
"Drinking it before bed will help you sleep better and wake up refreshed."
Granny Chen handed the scrolls to Yuna, her eyes shining with affection.
"I'm so proud of you, Yuna. Your dedication is admirable. Just remember, no matter what anyone says, you are capable of great things."
She leaned down and kissed Yuna's forehead gently before leaving the room.
As Granny Chen closed the door behind her, she couldn't help but smile. Yuna may be naive and innocent, but she possessed a strength and determination that would serve her well in life.
Early the next morning Yuna woke up she felt so happy today was her 8th birthday! She happily picked up Little Bai and the egg and she saw a gift box and she saw the name which was from her Master Li who she hasn't seen for a year. Tears streamed down her face she missed her master so much! She also saw another box which had many little princess dresses which was from beautiful one! Yuna put on a pink dress she brushed her own hair and tied up in a ponytail she ran the stairs and she saw Granny Chen who had her favorite breakfast.
Granny Chen looked up as Yuna bounded down the stairs, her heart skipping a beat at the sight of the little girl. Yuna's happiness was contagious, and Granny Chen couldn't help but smile widely.
"Happy birthday, my dear!" she exclaimed, opening her arms to embrace Yuna.
Yuna flew into Granny Chen's arms, hugging her tightly. Tears of joy streamed down her face as she thought about her master and Lu Tang San.
"Thank you, Granny Chen," she sniffled.
"I love you so much!"
Granny Chen chuckled softly, pulling back to look at Yuna. She gently wiped away the little girl's tears with her thumb.
"And I love you too, my precious Yuna. Now come, sit down and eat your breakfast before it gets cold."
Yuna eat her food. Yuna finished eating and went out to play as she was running she saw two girls who were watching a video.
"Wow what is that?" Yuna asked she did not like talking the girls back at the orphanage but these one seem nice. One has pink hair and the other black hair.
"This is Kpop!" A girl named Xiao Lili said.
"Kpop what is that?" Yuna asked. They were the same age as Yuna.
Xiao Lili and her friend, Mei Mei, looked at each other in surprise. They weren't used to Yuna initiating a conversation with them or anyone else for that matter.
"It's a type of music and dance from South Korea," Mei Mei explained patiently.
"It's really popular right now. Wanna watch with us?"
Yuna nodded eagerly, sitting down beside them. The girls scooted over to make room, surprised but pleased by Yuna's sudden interest in their activities.
As the video played, Yuna watched with wideeyed wonder. The colorful outfits, synchronized dances, and catchy tunes captivated her completely.
"This is amazing!" she exclaimed, clapping her hands together excitedly.
The girls giggled at Yuna's enthusiasm. They had never seen her so animated before.
"Do you like it?" Xiao Lili asked.
"We should also do it!" Yuna said.
Xiao Lili and Mei Mei exchanged excited glances, their eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. They had been wanting to start a dance group for a while now, but hadn't found the right people to join them.
"That's a great idea, Yuna!" Mei Mei exclaimed.
"We could practice every day and perform at the upcoming temple festival!"
Yuna's face lit up with joy at the prospect of dancing with her new friends. She had always loved moving to music, but had never had anyone to share it with before.
"I'd love that!" she said happily.
The three girls spent the rest of the afternoon watching Kpop videos and discussing their favorite groups. By the time the sun began to set, they had already started planning their first routine.
As they walked back to the temple, arm in arm, Yuna felt a warmth spreading through her chest. For the first time in a long time, she felt like she belonged.
Mei Mei stood up.
"My name is Mei Mei!" Mei Mei said.
Xiao Lili stood up as well, smiling brightly at Yuna.
"And I'm Xiao Lili!" she said, bowing slightly.
Yuna giggled at their formal introductions, feeling a sense of camaraderie with her new friends.
"I'm Yuna," she said, standing up to join them.
"It's nice to meet you both."
The three girls linked arms, swaying gently to the music as they continued to watch the Kpop videos. They laughed and sang along to the catchy tunes, feeling a sense of joy and belonging that they had never experienced before.
As the sun began to set, casting a warm glow over the temple grounds, Yuna felt a sense of contentment wash over her. She had found something that brought her happiness and fulfillment something that had nothing to do with her beauty or her past. And for the first time in a long time, she felt like she was exactly where she was meant to be.
