Staring into the dog's ferocious, fiery eyes, a sense of excitement started to overcome me as I imagined the fight that was to come.
Slowly, I began to reach out towards the dog until my fingers touched the end of its snout, causing it to react ferociously, trying with all its might to get to me.
[Rookie lord barrier:
Description: Stops monsters and other lords from reaching the lord's hut.
Duration: 4 days 23 hours]
Reading the message in front of me I finally realised why the dogs could do nothing but act ferocious. "Interesting", I said with a grin, as I began to think of ways to kill these beasts in front of me.
"Thorn, got any ideas on how we kill these guys?" Obviously surprised by my question, Thorn began to think of the best way to answer my question. "Sir, I think we should utilise the barrier to our advantage to slowly whittle them down.
"Hmmmm, pretty good, but I have a better idea. You'll lead one away whilst I deal with the other ill then go and help you." I responded.
Thorn had a sense of fear on his face, but he didn't dare to say anything; he merely nodded. "Okay go!!!" I commanded. Hearing this, Thorn slowly stepped forward, and after a couple of seconds of hesitation, he punched forward towards the dog's snout, causing it to let out a cry before trying to attack again. After attacking Thorn sprinted off to the side as fast as his 3 Agility would allow. After Thorn and the dog were a decent distance away, I looked back at the second dog in front of me.
I sent a kick with all my strength hitting the dog to jump back in pain. Utilising this opportunity, I quickly exited the barrier and jumped onto the dog, forcing it to the ground. Wrapping my hands around the dog's neck, I began to strangle it with all my strength. The dog began to whine as it tried to escape my grasp with all its might. Forcing the dog down, I had to use all my strength to stop the beast from escaping my grasp.
After a couple of minutes, the whines finally started to quiet down until the dog could no longer resist, but I still didn't let up. I wouldn't stop until I knew it was dead. After a little more time, I finally stopped because of the message that appeared before my eyes.
[You have killed a flame hound.]
Looking at the message, I knew it was finally dead. Slowly standing up I stared at the lifeless body in front of me with an emotionless expression.
Remembering that there was another dog, I looked towards where Thorn had run off to with anticipation of the fight ahead.
Seeing Thorn in the distance, I slowly began to walk towards them, taking my time. After a couple of minutes, I finally joined Thorn and the dog that he was fighting. As Thorn was distracting the dog, I jumped onto the dog's back, wrapping my arm around the dog's neck, cutting off its air intake.
Seeing how I had restrained the dog Thorn quickly approached and began to ferociously kick the open body of the dog. Finally, after some time, I saw that familiar message.
[You have killed a flame hound.]
After taking a minute to catch my breath I stood up and looked towards Thorn.
"Gather the bodies of the two dogs," I commanded, leaving no room for questions.
"Yes sir." Is all that Thorn said before he made his way to the other dog to bring it over. Looking towards the corpse below me an immense sense of hunger overcame me as I instinctively crouched down with saliva escaping my mouth. Feeling the hunger inside of me I couldn't resist. Reaching down, I grabbed the dog by the neck, pulling it towards me. Not able to hold back any longer, I sank my teeth into its neck quickly puncturing its hide like butter.
An explosion of flavour resounded throughout my mouth as the blood began to drip down my mouth onto my clothes, not caring, I continued to devour the corpse, sending blood and flesh everywhere.
Thorns POV
As I was returning to that demon carrying the beast that he had killed, I came to a halt, stunned by fear, dropping the corpse, I couldn't help but begin to shake from the horrendous sight in front of me.
As I stared at my master's teeth on the raw flesh of a beast, I could feel myself becoming nauseous. He really was a demon. What sane person could devour a whole beast raw, sending blood everywhere? The site was so gruesome that I had to overt my eyes. Still looking away, I heard the corpse that I had dropped seeing dragged away before that same horrible crunching began again; he was eating the other corpse.
