Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: Ashmourne Awakens

---

⚔️ Scene 1 – Beneath the Flame

The priest and Cassia stood in stunned silence.

Kael rose from the Flame of Remembrance, every thread of his past burned into his veins.

No longer just a rewritten soul — but a carrier of all erased timelines.

And in that moment, the air cracked.

His back burned.

> "It's calling," Kael muttered. "It wants out."

Cassia took a step back.

> "What does?"

Kael turned.

And the black sheath on his back — long sealed, always silent — began to hiss.

Ashmourne was waking.

---

🔥 Scene 2 – The Cursed Blade Breathes

Smoke spiraled around him.

The sheath split apart on its own — like it had waited centuries for permission.

Out of it slid a blade that bled shadows.

Not steel.

Not magic.

Something older.

Something alive.

The priest whispered, trembling:

> "Ashmourne… the Sword of the Unwritten Flame."

The blade pulsed once.

Kael felt it sink into him — like a lost limb reattaching.

And then…

> It spoke.

---

💀 Scene 3 – Voice of the Sword

Not in words.

But in visions.

A battlefield covered in ash.

Children chanting forgotten names.

A god screaming as his throne melted.

A boy — Kael — dying again and again,

and the blade watching it all.

> "You are me," the blade whispered in his head,

"and I am your unspoken scream."

Kael gripped it.

For the first time…

he felt whole.

---

🩸 Scene 4 – The Vow of Ash

The priest bowed low.

> "Now you must choose. Ashmourne requires a vow.

Once drawn in full, it cannot return to its sheath

until it tastes truth… or blood."

Kael closed his eyes.

He raised the blade high.

And declared:

> "By all the lives they erased…

By every child I was forced to become…

I vow to never forget.

And to make the gods remember."

Ashmourne roared in flame — not red, but black-violet,

and carved Kael's name into the air:

> "Kael'Thoros Vex, Flame of Unmaking."

---

🧠 Scene 5 – Blade's Gift

Ashmourne whispered again.

This time, it gave him something:

> Sight beyond systems.

Kael could now see not just people — but their rewritten truths.

He looked at Cassia.

And saw her real name —

the one she'd forgotten since childhood.

He looked at the priest.

And saw the chains the gods still wrapped around his memory.

> "I can see it all now," Kael said. "The edits. The lies. The divine fingerprints."

Ashmourne pulsed again.

It was ready.

So was he.

---

🌌 Scene 6 – The First Target

A flash of divine light appeared in the sky.

An Archdivine was descending —

A judgment warden sent to execute Kael before the rewrite spread further.

The ground shook as the figure landed — armored in silver, wings of scripture, blade of holy fire.

> "You are not a soul. You are an infection."

Kael stepped forward.

Ashmourne burned.

> "I am every soul you tried to delete."

---

⚔️ Scene 7 – First Divine Kill

The Archdivine rushed in.

A blow of light descended.

Kael didn't dodge.

He parried.

Ashmourne sliced through holy flame like butter.

The Archdivine staggered — surprised.

Kael whispered:

> "Remember this."

And struck once — cleanly.

The divine's armor shattered.

Light bled from his eyes.

And the last thing he saw was his own forgotten sin being reflected in Ashmourne's blade.

Then — he fell.

A god had died.
