Chapter 10 - Chapter 7: (Spoiler; Title at the end of chapter)

3rd POV:

The young man was dead, erased from this Dimension. Sarah began floating down toward Samael. "Are you okay, child?" Samael, still not fully conscious, nods slowly. "I'm ok, Miss Sarah. Who was that? Why was he here? What did he want?" "Calm down, child. I will answer all your questions in due time. First, however, we need to head back to the village. I need to set up some defensive formations in case someone competent shows up." Sarah wraps Samael in her energy, then bends space to warp over to the village. "Huh! How did we get here instantly?" "I folded space to create an instant passage back to the village, or teleportation as most lower-level mortals would call it. As Samael's thoughts raced, Sarah began setting up a formation. Eleutherios purred warmly, offering comfort as Samael's confused mind settled down. The formation covered the entire village in a runic defensive field. It was a dome with a slight gold tinge to it. Silvery runes covered the surface, flowing in shape; they seemed to shift and morph around as they traveled the surface of the golden dome. Her aura, like flames of purple, radiated off Sarah as the formation finished. Samael could feel the weight of her power. He knew he would be crushed into a paste in an instant if he were the target. "This should be sufficient to protect you against the strongest of this Dimension." *It's truly unfortunate that my cultivation is sealed to the peak of the Chaos Core Realm. If I had even a fraction of my true strength, I would be able to create something far more adequate to protect them.*

Hours passed as more and more layers were added to the Formation. On the ground, complex patterns made up the foundation of the Formation. The lines swirled seemingly randomly, yet when Samael looked closer, the pattern began to show itself to him. The powerful fluctuations of Sarah's energy made him unable to look directly at her or even stay within several hundred feet of her. Samael walked over to Augustus with Eleutherios in his arms, a curious look on his face. "Who is Miss Sarah really, Aug? This is beyond anything I've seen from even the strongest of our village. Even Priest Terranos and Priestess Elise wouldn't be able to do this!" "I don't know, Mael. She rarely speaks of her past, and what little she does say isn't enough to get any real clue." "But she's your Master, Aug. Surely she would tell you… right?" "There seems to be a lot more at stake here than we know of, Mael. She's mentioned the Soulborn House before. It's the ruling family of this Dimension, known even beyond the confines of our universe. They're extremely powerful, with the Protector of this Dimension and Patriarch of the Soulborn House said to have reached Tier 11!"

As the days passed, they waited in anticipation for the retaliation of the Souborn House. Sarah had killed their second in line to become the heir, and it would be certain if they did nothing in retaliation. Soon enough, they arrived, a massive army, several hundred thousand strong, floated in the air outside the village. This wasn't just revenge for the life of the Soulborn Patriarch's son; it was a show of force, a showing of why they, among the untold number of people living within the Dimension. Why, they are the protectors of the Soulborn Universe. Every single cultivator in that army was at least Tier 8, with some exceptional cultivators at Tier 9. Leading them was the Matriarch of the Soulborn House and the mother of the young man who was killed. As a Peak Tier 10, she was among the strongest in the entire Soulborn Universe. As the army stood there awaiting orders from their Matriarch, Sarah grew increasingly worried. *The Formation should hold, even if their leader was Tier 11, but it won't last forever. My power is limited to the peak of Tier 1, so I won't be able to do anything against them if they break through the defenses.*

Sarah called on Augustus and Samael, her eyes weary from the fatigue of powering the formation. "I will have to send your children away from here. The situation is far more dire than I expected, and it is unlikely that the formation will last long enough for help to arrive. I will send you to the family of my husband, there you will be taken care of until I can come get you." "WHAT?! ARE YOU CRAZY?!?!?" Both Samael and Augustus burst out simultaneously. The bombardments of the army only grew more powerful as time went on, and soon it even overwhelmed the sound cancellation of the Formation. "What are we even supposed to tell them? That you killed some powerful person's son, and we are their problem until you can come get us?" Samael continues, his face slowly turning red from anger. "Tell them that Sarah Voidstar sent you there for protection until either I or my husband can come and bring you back. There's no need to be so worried. These weaklings can't do anything to me as long as I can unseal my cultivation. I will begin teleporting you now. Prepare yourself, as long-distance teleportation like this can be tough on the mind." Sarah's aura flared up once more, this time far more violently than while she was setting up the Formation, even more than while she killed Eltaeron Soulborn. Space started folding in on itself as a spatial corridor formed.

When Samael, with Eleutherios on his shoulder once more, and Augustus looked through the forming portal, they could see a massive courtyard, with children of seemingly all ages training martial arts. The tall walls were made of something similar in shape and color to bamboo, but they had an almost metallic sheen to them. There were hundreds of children in the courtyard, all of them wearing similar black robes, the only difference being the color of the embroidered stars dotting the fabric. The most common were red stars, making up a large majority of the children in the courtyard. After that, there were the orange stars, with roughly half as many as the red star-robed children. The second rarest color was the silver stars. These children seemed a lot more powerful than the children with red and orange stars and seemingly kept to themselves, staying in one small part of the massive courtyard. By far the rarest were the youths with gold stars on their robes. There were only five in the entire courtyard, and even the silver-star-robed youths seemed wary of them. It appeared to be some kind of hierarchy, though based on what was unclear. Walking around the courtyard were 4 elderly cultivators. As they walked around, they gave stern advice, correcting the youths in their practice, and oversaw any spars that were occurring. The elders wore black robes like the children, but the edges were lined with a mix of silver and gold, and 4 swords were embroidered on their chests, though the boys couldn't figure out what they represented. It was clear, however, that they were the ones in charge. As the two boys were pondering what they were seeing, the intense bombardment only kept increasing. Even the Tier 10 Matriarch was attacking. Their attacks shattered space as they impacted the formation, and despite its powerful protection, they could feel the strength of the attacks hitting the dome. Soon, the portal stabilizes, and the two go through.
