"...de–dear…?"
Sera's voice cracked in disbelief when she heard it.
The shirtless man was looking at her—staring at her, to be exact. His sharp eyes stare at her as if he could eat her alive.
Sera's starting to feel her body tremble. "W–what?"
Instead of angry, like what Sera imagined in her head, the man let out a huge sigh. Slowly his gaze is getting softer. After a while, he opens his mouth as he gazes at Sera.
"Sera, dear, Are you alright?"
Sera nodded.
"Then? What's wrong?"
Because Sera is still silent and didn't answer the question, the man moved closer to Sera and made her flinch. Sera quickly grabbed her blanket and covered her body as she leaned back.
"W–what do you want!?"
The man sighed and stared at her. "Sera, please. I know we are married because of our parents. But the way you acted this morning is so…" He paused for a moment. "It is ridiculous…"
WE ARE MARRIED? SO HE'S MY H–HUSBAND?
After a while, the man who claimed to be Sera's husband gets up from the bed and leaves Sera alone. Sera watched him until he left her sight. She tried to calm herself by taking a few deep breaths. Huu..haa…huu..haa..
Calm, Sera. You must stay calm and think clearly!
Sera looks at her surroundings. She noticed how big her bed was. And look at the room. Warm white and beige dominate the room. The furniture is not that much as well. What Sera noticed first is the huge window on her right side.
Ah! Her phone!
Sera looked immediately to her right side. At the top of her bedside table, Sera found her phone. She grabbed it. When her phone is unlocked, Sera froze. The wallpaper…
The wallpaper is her wedding picture. From that photo alone, she realized that her husband is a military officer. She can tell from the suit he wore on their wedding day. He looks…gentle?
And she herself looked happy in that photo. For a so-called arranged wedding, Sera looks too happy. She looks so pretty and smiles happily. Sera wondered if she was really happy. Sera then opened her gallery.
Without her realizing it, a smile slowly appears on Sera's face as she scrolls through the gallery.
The girl in the photos—or Sera herself—is smiling a lot. In almost all of the photos, Sera was smiling from ear to ear. And the guy, the military guy who claimed to be his husband, was found in the photos. Sera noticed the guy started to appear in the year 2020.
It's five years ago…
"Why are you smiling like that?" a husky voice brings Sera back to the present.
Sera lifted her head and met the guy's gaze. Suddenly her face turns red once she sees the man is topless and has a towel wrapped around the bottom area. Showing his muscular body and that six-pack like bread.
Realizing Sera's face is turning red, the guy smirks. "Why?" He then walked closer to Sera.
"S–stay away!" She shouted as she was nervous.
The guy sitting in front of Sera locked her into a position so she couldn't move back again. Sera avoided his gaze and covered her face with both hands.
"Look at you blushing," he commented. Even though Sera covered her face, she can sense that that guy is smiling while teasing her.
And once he landed a kiss on her forehead, Sera could feel her blood rushing all over her body. Her face is getting redder than before, and she feels like she wants to scream.
"Now get up and take a shower, babe."
Sera just nodded and waited until she could feel his presence was gone. She peeked a little and let out a huge sigh once her 'husband' was gone. Damn him!
Sera touches her heart as the heartbeat is pounding so fast. Why does my heart pound so fast?
Under the shower, Sera enjoys the warm water as it glides over her body. She closed her eyes. Hoping that maybe, if she closes her eyes long enough, she will wake up and realize that all of this was just a dream.
But that hope started to vanish when she heard him knocking slowly at the door.
"Babe? What do you want for breakfast?"
Sera quickly opened her eyes.
"Babe? If you don't answer me, I will open the door."
"Anything!" Sera shouted. Finally.
"Gotcha."
Sera quickly finished her shower time. And then she stood in front of the mirror. Sera stares at her reflection in the mirror. It's really her. She didn't wake up and take place as another person. But it is really her.
The face is her. Those grey eyes are hers. That long and thick black hair is hers.
Sera sighed. So here it is.
Sera walked out of the bathroom and sat at the end of the bed with her bathrobe. Once again she looked at her surroundings, trying to grasp the situation. At one side of the room, there are two photo frames hanging.
The bigger frame shows a photo of Sera and her husband on their wedding day. Sera looked so beautiful in her traditional wedding dress, standing side-by-side with that guy. And the second photo frame holds a photo of their families.
Sera looked closely and let out a huge sigh. Well, at least my parents here are not my own parents. They looked…nice?
At that moment, the door opened. Her husband stands there and smiles at Sera. "Babe, are you done? I made you toast and juice." His voice sounds joyful and light. And somehow it warms Sera.
"...thanks."
After landing another kiss on Sera's forehead, her husband left her alone in the room. Sera then walked to her closet and tried to find clothes to wear today. She has her own walk-in closet.
One side of the closet belongs to her husband, and another side belongs to her. Sera is in awe as she opens hers. It looks like Sera in this life is paying good attention to details and is a fashionable one.
Sera picked one knee-length dress. Very simple. Sera matched it with a cardigan. Then Sera sits in front of her vanity table and starts a skin-care routine. Sera can tell that this Sera takes great care of herself.
A moment before she went out of the room, Sera grabbed her phone. First things first, she must find out about her husband. At least his name. Sera opened the messaging app and scrolled through.
Luckily, this Sera saves her husband as Teddy Baby.
Ah, so his name is Teddy…
When Sera thinks of his name, Teddy, a rush of familiar feeling fills her body. It feels like she knew this Teddy from before. Somehow, Teddy sounds and feels familiar.
