Chapter 2 - Code names

Codenames

The glow of the phone screen lit up Satoshi's face in the café window. His fingers tapped the screen in a rhythm too fast for the casual eye. To most people passing by, he looked like any normal 19-year-old playing a mobile game.

But Satoshi Nakamoto was no ordinary college student.

The "game" on his phone was a custom-built cypher — a digital maze of shifting symbols and trap codes. Only he knew it was a real-time message from someone calling himself the Guardian.

A flicker on the screen.A final swipe.Coordinates decrypted.

"Underground Rail Yard. Sector 17. Access Point C. Arrival ETA: 5 minutes."

Satoshi locked the phone and stood without a word, tossing his empty cup in the trash. No one even noticed him leave.

After all, who would suspect that a global fugitive known as Mr. Nothing walked among them?

Underground Rail Yard – 7 Minutes Later

Steel and shadows surrounded him. The chamber was silent, cold, and covered in dust. Faint overhead lights flickered like they hadn't been used in years.

Satoshi stepped in. Four figures were already there, scattered near a rusted metal table in the center.

He scanned them with one quick glance:A tall man with cybernetic arms, arms crossed.A calm woman in a NASA jacket, leaning against the wall.A rugged, scowling guy in a flight jumpsuit. And a younger woman with striking, sharp eyes.

Before he could speak, the man with the cybernetic arms sneered.

"You serious? This is our team?""A high school dropout with baby fat?"

Satoshi didn't flinch. His eyes swept across the room, unimpressed.

"So these are the so-called professionals? Cute."

The young woman stepped between them, voice sharp.

"Enough.""If he's here, the Guardian brought him for a reason."

Satoshi smirked to himself.

"She gets it."

Before another word could spark a fight, headlights lit the tunnel entrance. A black car rolled in slowly, its engine silent like a whisper.

The door opened.

And the Guardian stepped out.

Black coat. Black gloves. Black hat. Eyes hidden behind glasses. Still unreadable. Still untouchable.

"Welcome.""You've all been chosen because you're untraceable. Exceptional. Dangerous.""And because if this mission fails… no one else on Earth can pull it off."

He pressed a button. A hologram of the Moon projected into the air, rotating slowly. Its surface glittered with satellite tags and encrypted zones.

"From this point forward, your identities are erased. Even among each other, real names are forbidden. You will go by codenames — assigned by month."

He pointed to Satoshi.

"Hacker. What's your codename?"

Satoshi raised an eyebrow.

"Mr. Nothing.""I don't like months."

The Guardian gave a short nod.

"As you wish."

He turned to the others.

"Physicist?"A man with tired eyes smirked. "August."

"Rocket mechanic?"The scowling man in the jumpsuit grunted. "April."

"Ex-NASA scientist?"The calm woman said softly, "May. My birth month."

"Astronaut?"The sharp-eyed woman smiled. "June. That's when I first saw Earth from orbit."

The Guardian turned, facing the full team.

"Mr. Nothing. April. May. June. August. You're now part of a mission called…"

He tapped the projector again.

MISSION: CODE MOON

The Moon hologram glitched — revealing a hidden structure tucked into the far side. Black. Angular. Invisible to Earth.

"Your target is a government station on the dark side of the Moon. AI-operated.
